Negative experience: Rang, I was in a queue(eltham service), then someone picked up, I could hear only the noisy background, then I was put on hold with music -on and off, when it was off, the noisy background continued... that is a good role model that everyone could learn from this dismissive way, and it is smart.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, all dental experts are learning and do not have complete experience. I do not recommend them at all. I had 3 children’s teeth done there and they ruined their teeth. I went to a private dentist and was shocked at how he did this to children’s teeth. He said to me, “Are you sure he is a doctor who did this?” I am very sad.

Negative experience: They pull out one of my teeth and after eight days still I suffer a lot of Pain They didn’t know what they’re doing. Definitely, I don’t recommend them to anybody.

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, firstly they take 30% of the funding instead of the 15% of other companies, then they take 4-5 weeks to pay the support workers or cleaners. They are all nice until you're signed up with them then they are hopeless and are apparently struggling financially which makes sense about their INABILITY to manage funds.

Negative experience: I have been a customer of HealthAbility for quite some years now and have had no reason to complain until my most recent experience. I had a regular check-up last September (from memory) which included a scan that indicated one of my teeth had an infection and required root canal surgery. Healthability postponed the appointment two or three times and I postponed once (due to a clash) so I only presented for surgery a couple of weeks ago. There were some relatively minor issues during my treatment such as being advised at the start that one of the risks of the surgery was that one of the tools might break in my mouth, and also the fact that I had to lie motionless in the chair for over an hour without the opportunity to speak, drink, flush my mouth, move to a more comfortable position or go to the toilet. The main issue, however, came after the procedure (which was ultimately unsuccessful) when I was told my tooth was compromised and had to be pulled. The dentist was unable to explain why a functional tooth that had never been painful (and still hasn't) needed to be pulled. I told the dentist that I already had had three teeth pulled and I did not want dentures. The dentist checked my mouth and agreed that indeed three teeth had been pulled, but they were unable to answer my question and instead referred my to root canal surgeons at the Dental Hospital, telling me that the dental hospital might not consider my case serious enough to treat me (which proved to be true when I received a letter to that effect a few days later). Shortly after this experience I rang healthAbility and asked to speak to the senior dentist who had not only come in to check on the work being done on my tooth but actually took over the surgery at least once. (I wanted to find out why a functional painless tooth had to be removed.) I was told by the receptionist that the dentist in question was not around at the moment but they would call me back. The call never came. After some days I emailed the CEO of healthAbility and asked them to clarify my situation. They have never replied. I feel that by failing to give me adequate information they have breached their duty of care, and this is quite contrary to the upbeat way that they advertise their services. Moreover, while they were prepared to pull my tooth and in fact filled the tooth with a "temporary filling", they were unable or unwilling to tell me what a temporary filling is. Is it a filling that would only last for a few weeks until the tooth was pulled, or a few months? If it is only meant to last weeks or months why was I given it before I had a chance to agree or disagree about my tooth being pulled? I believe healthAbilty owe me answers to these questions and that they owe me an apology for failing to provide the answers. I am reluctant to ever use their services again. All this reminds me of the experience that my father had when I grew up in Montmorency. In the 1960s, when dental equipment was way less advanced, he was experiencing pain in his mouth and our local dentist pulled almost every one of his teeth out, one a time, before pulling the tooth that caused the pain.

Negative experience: Not impressed with dental services at HealthAbility Eltham as filling I had done started to crack (had a crack between filling and tooth) and had to have this fixed elsewhere. I am not sure if this is due to very poor workmanship or products or both. Initially, I had gone back and told them it hurts and was just told that it was sensitivity by said Dentist, this was wrong. I had to have two fillings re-done elsewhere as both fillings caused me pain (done same time) and nearly lost the tooth that had cracked. My teeth were thankfully saved and I am glad I changed when I did or I would probably have lost the tooth. Said dentist at Eltham had noted that one of the fillings needed doing previous appointment, but obviously didn't act on it quick enough, thought it could wait till next time and "was deeper than she thought". Appointments were always rushed. After I changed dental practices, another filling was found and filled by new dentists on top of ones needing re-doing. At least one filling my child had done by dentist/s at HealthAbility didn't seem to last long either and had to be re-done elsewhere, daughter did end up loosing a tooth causing her anxiety. I had always gone to HealthAbility Eltham because I thought they were good with the children (through school program) and it would be good for all the family to go to same place. However, will not be back!

Fantastic experience: Navigating the world of Home Care Packages for a novice can be confusing and convoluted so I was so lucky to find Healthability. I first made contact with them about 2 years ago now to help manage care for my father and from the get go they have always been professional, kind, caring and extremely easy to deal with. I'd like to mention Peter in particular who manages Dad's package, he has been an absolute pleasure to work with, nothing is too much trouble for him, he is unbelievably patient and helpful. I honestly would have been lost without his help and assistance especially as my Dad is moving into my high care needs with his Dementia. I would HIGHLY recommend Healthabilty to anyone looking for an organisation to manage their or a loved ones HCP package, they are exemplary and I would give them 6 stars if I could. Thank you all so much again .

Negative experience: Knowingly admits that "many patient records get lost completely" when forwarding referrals to Royal Dental Hospital but absolutely refuse to follow up. Patients wait unknowingly and nothing will EVER HAPPEN. They literally don't care, can't be bothered googling ("we only have an email address") and calling to set up a MEETING to plan to fix the problem, instead complaining it's someone else's "fault" when how could RDH know the records aren't being received unless these folks TALK TO THEM, figure it out (probably IT to IT people) and FIX IT. My partner's friend had a woman she knew die two weeks ago in her forties from a tooth that made her turn septic. It can happen and will happen! Pure **negligence** to know there's a problem, but not inform patients to follow up that their records made it through, since they apparently are too incompetent to do that themselves. Obviously, the Royal Dental Hospital doesn't have dozens of IT systems for patient records, I suspect there may be two or three, but what do I know I'm just a patient? But I do know RDH searched all of their systems multiple ways for my referral from healthABILITY (lol name) and found nothing. NOTHING. Back over a year ago I had verbal confirmation from their senior dentist twice and a week or so later from reception that YES MY RECORDS were sent to RDH, but RDH does not have anything, nothing was received. The senders healthABILITY are FULLY at fault if they aren't received as logically they're the only ones that know they exist and can possibly check! It's not RDH fault. It's healthABILITY. I only got in to RDH because my GP wrote a letter. Then I had to BEG healthABILITY through multiple people to get MY OWN DENTAL RECORDS. What are these people hiding? Why won't they fix the problem they admit they have with critical care patients being "lost"? These aren't pieces of paper it's electronic so clearly they're not "lost". There's a data mismatch which CAN BE FIXED SO FIX IT. TALK TO RDH!!! Edit: Got my healthABILITY records finally, healthABILITY completely and fully butchered the spelling of my name to the point where the data would never, ever match. So it IS 100% their fault that "RDH lost my records". Knew it was, and it is. Comically bad spelling given it should have been written off my Medicare Card. Thanks for wasting everyone's time!

Negative experience: Had an emergency root canal procedure done due to pain in my premolar. The staff was nice and I did not have to wait. I was informed that it was a temporary fix and that I'd need to visit again to complete the procedure however the remaining procedure could wait and wasn't urgent. However, that wasn't the case and what disappoints me the most is that the procedure made matters worse and my previously moderate pain became severe. I was screaming in pain and had to be on anti biotics and painkillers for days before I could see another dentist because of the snap lockdown in Melbourne. Finally saw a recommended dentist who told me that the procedure wasn't done correctly as 1 canal was left untouched which caused infection and made matters worse.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended I lost a cap/filling i had done about 23 years ago due to an accident. With worries about further damage and it being a front tooth they got me start in. I had the chipped tooth fixed within the hour. The lady I had was amazing, Im so scared of the dentist but she was so careful a gentle I had the hole thing done with no needles, it looks amazing and I'm now not so scard of the dentist. So a big thank you to the team that works here. I appreciate what u do.

Fantastic experience: Great service. My family all go to Healthy Bite in Eltham. They are wonderful with our school aged daughter's and with us aswell. I recently went thinking I would need to get a tooth removed, they fixed it no problems at a very reasonable price aswell. We would certainly recommend Healthy Bite Dental at Eltham to anyone especially families.

Negative experience: Are the dentist's here trainees? Geez a bit rough. Had to go get a filling filed down elsewhere cause it was too high causing an out of whack bite. Getting an appointment is near impossible too.

They are always really enjoyable and informative - I’ve walked out with a new technique or idea every time that has been implemented with great results. Fantastic experience: I had a check up, clean and x-rays a few days ago at another dentist. That cost me over $300. The dentist recommended a treatment plan of a couple of fillings and a crown that was estimated at about $3000. Too much - we don't have Extras Cover. A healthy community and society requires less disparity in incomes than we currently have. Checked with Healthy Bite Dental, which is part of the Nillumbik Community Health Service, and their fees are much lower. Also, the reception staff are lovely! I haven't been for my appointment yet, but I'm confident I'll be happy.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Amy, Amanda and John at the new Nillumbik Dental service. Amy provided accurate information about my dental needs and was able to book me in for an appointment in only 2 days. Amanda at dental reception was very welcoming and was expecting me which made me feel like I was in safe hands. John the dentist was fantastic and did a great job on my crown. I also got a good quote on future veneers which I am considering.

Negative experience: This place is chaotic; staff morale is non existent and there are staff leaving every week. What the hell is going on here?! I feel sorry for the staff who work here, but I won't be using services from here again.
