Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Tran for 15 years, hands down the best dentist I’ve ever seen. Professional, dental work is always high quality and she checks you’re happy with the work. She also provided me with a plan and costs mapped out. She cares about her patients. I first came to see her to have wisdom teeth removed, and for a range of fillings and later braces.

Fantastic experience: Dr Tran is amazing! I was very nervous as I had to have four impacted wisdom teeth removed under a local anaesthetic she helped me to remain calm throughout the whole treatment. Dr Tran was so gentle I honestly didn’t feel a thing! She contacted me before to ensure I was prepared as well as after to see if I was doing okay. She is so friendly, lovely, trustworthy, and has such good energy. I truly wouldn’t recommend anyone better and will be returning again for all my checkups

Negative experience: Whole experience felt like a sales pitch trying to sell me everything under the sun at very expensive pricing and recommending unnecessary treatments, exploiting the trust people put in medical professionals, will not be returning. Had a teeth clean and paid $100 more than other practices. Rough handling also when clearly in discomfort.

Fantastic experience: I cannot rate Dr Tran highly enough, she took me in immediately as a dental emergency, removed my broken molar and treated the abscess. She assisted me with a payment plan and could not have been more professional and accommodating. She even rang me that evening after my procedure to check in. I’ve since returned for further treatment and have now happily adopted Dr Tran as my new dental provider.

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal on my front tooth, over ten years ago now, by Dr. Tran. Its still going strong. The experience was no where near as bad as people had made out it would be. And I haven't had any problems with that tooth since. I need some fillings and I want to get some minor corrective done and I will be going back to Dr. Tran. She is never allowed to retire. Sorry!

Negative experience: Had to receive root canal treatment on a previously healthy tooth after receiving a filling here, I’m 19 years of age so young people stay woke.

Negative experience: I came in last week to get a clean and the dentist, Dr. Tran was quite rudely telling off an employee in front of patients and myself. I found this to be very unprofessional. The dentist left my gums in severe throbbing pain and after the procedure and I had to seek extra medical help. I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: Dr Tran did a spectaculer job on removing two of my very rotten teeth. With no difficulty , she is a extremely well trained dentist. Dr Tran an her assistant are also very lovely an down to earth people. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr Ahn Tran to all my family, friends. She is the best in the business, hands down. Dr Tran and her team are all very professional, caring and very efficient. Her prices are competitive, she won’t rip you off. She is passionate about her work and her work ethic is unparalleled. I had an emergency as my tooth cracked due to old fillings coming off, she basically reconstructed a molar out of nothing. I have never seen another dentist since. Her staff called me the next day to check in. Where else can you find a dentist and a team that genuinely cares and goes above and beyond your needs? Nowhere. Go to Dr Ahn Tran. You will never feel the need to see a different dentist.

Positive experience: Had to have fillings in all four sides of teeth, but they were small fillings so dentist said I didn’t need anesthetic injections. She started and I was in sooo much pain (due to sensitive teeth) that I was crying and shaking trying to tell her how much this hurt. Finally she cottoned on and said “oh it’s genuine.” (Which is upsetting to hear in the first place, like she didn’t believe me before I had a breakdown.) At this point, I figure most dentists would say “ok let’s numb you”, but she kept going. Before she could start on other side I had to take a break and yet she still tried to convince me that I didn’t need an injection. Kept asking me “are you sure?” She made it seem like injection would be more painful than the procedure. Finally I insisted, and after she stuck in the needle in, it was no problem! I had already told her I hadn’t been to the dentist in years due to painful cleaning last time. Cried in office when I was paying, and cried on the way home. Not sure I can bring myself to go back. Seeing as I haven’t been to dentist office for years, l’m not really sure what’s normal, but this was an awful experience for me.

Fantastic experience: It is no surprise at all to be scrolling through these pages of reviews to find nothing less than a 5-star rating for Dr Anh Tran at Fitzroy Dental - given the chance we would all be giving a million stars plus! To say Dr Tran is reputable and the leader in her field would be an understatement. This is a woman who is true dental genius and artist (and I can only assume in everything she does!!) with an infectious personality that leaves us all much happier than we were when we walked in. This is a fact. So, my story.... I’ve been seeing Dr Tran for almost 13 years now and let’s just say the girl that first cried before getting on any dental chair now happily jumps on to Dr Trans! Anh has turned my dental health from poor with many a toothache and pain, to now, great. She is the only dentist I know who can successfully re-treat a root canal and win the battle where the success rate can be lower than 20%. Dr Tran is still admiring her work to this day! Only yesterday I was on that chair listening to peaceful music whilst having my teeth cleaned and whitened, an experience that is heavily reported online as imposing so much pain and discomfort by other dental practices; I didn’t feel a thing. Dr Tran and staff turned the lights out, and encouraged me to sleep through, every few min checking on me to see that I am ok. The result? Just brilliant, my teeth are beautiful, fresh, and clean and less than 24 hours later I feel no sensitivity. I was prescribed a take a way kit gels to minimise any discomfort. Honestly, I slept so well and woke up having forgotten I even had anything done! Aside from the genius I have described, this is a dentist that will understand any anxieties you may have and address them with you and will modify the treatment to suit the patient. Hand on heart – since seeing Dr Tran 13 years ago, I have not seen any other dentist in Australia and I really just never will. Fantastic experience: Anh is just the perfect dentist! Her love for dentistry comes out in not only her 5 star work but how she treats every single patient like they are the most important patient ever!! Anh has been working with me, a very complex on multiple levels case for well over a decade and despite my extreme phobia of teeth, she is able to get me to her clinic and making sure that mentally, emotionally and of course physically I'm able to walk out with 5 star work that not only do I LOVE but I know she does too! Fantastic experience: Best dental experience of my life! Anh extracted my complicated wisdom teeth and I didn’t feel a thing! The teeth were fairly complicated; impacted and infected. I’d had my other wisdom extracted elsewhere and it was fairly traumatic so I was really nervous. She made feel at ease and cleaned and extracted my teeth in under 20 mins! Thanks to the vallium and gas I barely remember the procedure. I was given a thorough course of medication to help me recover and she checked up on me with a text. I healed up in about a week and bounced back really quickly! I had a check up a week later to remove stitches where yet again she was very gentle. Highly recommend dentist! She has won herself a new client here for life.

She took care of the initial pain that same day, then got me fixed up with a root canal/ crown - all in under three weeks. She & her staff are caring & competent - highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Came here to get my fixed retainer fixed. It has been fixed 5 times in the past by different dentist and always came loose after a couple of weeks. This dentist took the extra time to see why it keeps breaking loose and actually fixed the problems. All of that with a smile too. 5 stars.

Negative experience: This was the worst dentist experience ever... I had an infection and she did even worse! On top of that, she was so unfriendly... I don't understand how this dentist can still do business. Usually I don't write reviews but this time I want to prevent people from going there for the sake of their health and their wallet (she made me pay 20 dollars extra for a tooth paste...). Fortunately the next day I went to another dentist that took care of me and confirmed that the work that has been done at Dental Fitzroy just made things even worse. I hope this review will help people searching for a new dentist... I hoped someone would have written this kind of review when I was seeking one!

Positive experience: I had not seen a dentist in years & required urgent attention. I made a call and they were able to see me that afternoon. I had a thorough examination with xrays & a filling was put straight in. No pain and it was a quick, easy procedure. I would recommend visiting Fitzroy Dental!

Negative experience: I won't tell you all the story but she's been very nasty. She dashed to do the work. Throwing the tools on my chest without apron like it was a desk. And then nicely asked me to leave. I didn't think I could pay $600 in Australia to be treated like that. Worst dental experience ever!

Fantastic experience: I recently had my wisdoms removed at FD, I recommend this dentist for anyone who wants to be sure their teeth is is good hands. Dr. Anh is very friendly and informed me of the procedure, risks and things I'd need to do afterwards. The procedure took roughly 40 minutes and it was painless and stated beforehand. The price was reasonable compared with prices other dentists have offered and my experience at FD is enjoyable.

Negative experience: Not my cup of tea, I must say. Prices were rather high from my perspective, treatment was ok but there were quite some things that made me feel like this is just not the right dentist for me. I had some toothache when I went there. She found a decay and fixed it. But also suggested heaps of unnecessary cosmetic treatment. I could have gone out of there with a dental plan of a couple thousands. It felt more like a bad sale pitch than a medical consultation. Well, I was in pain, so I ignored that to get it done and over with. Treatment felt a bit rough and she bumped into my teeth with some some piece of equipment several times, leaned against my face, chatted with a staff member while not paying much attention to me, didn't explain what she was doing while doing it, small things that just didn't feel all too comfortable being there. After the treatment I was still in pain, so I went back, she adjusted the filling a bit and send me off. That didn't do the trick though and I was still in pain. So I decided to go to another dentist who actually found the real problem and fixed that, providing amazing service for a better price. So seeing these two in comparison, I must say I am glad to have found my dentist now and it is not Fitzroy Dental. I'm not trying to be negative or anything, I'm merely providing a different perspective for patients to consider when choosing a dentist.

Fantastic experience: I attended today with a very loose wisdom tooth. I admit I was aware of the bad review below and mentioned to the dentist that I'd read it. We had a chat about the circumstances and I was reassured that the patient simply didn't want to take Dr Anh's advice and that she had an ethical obligation to not perform the treatment he was requesting - which he seems to have not fully understood. That out of the way, I was examined, reassured, handled with very great care and professionalism and had both the wisdom tooth and its infected neighbour removed swiftly and as painlessly as possible. I found Dr Anh incredibly friendly and positive, and she kept me fully informed as to what was needed and the cost of each step. This was my first visit to a dentist in 20+ years and I can honestly say that I am seriously considering going back for further overdue treatment - I never thought I'd say that! Thank you, Dr Anh.
