Negative experience: The receptionist and hygienist were excellent, professional. My experience with Dr Nikki, however, was disappointing. On two visits she confused me with my husband and did not confirm my details before starting. She also assumed I had lactose intolerance, which I don’t, and provided a treatment plan without showing me my x-ray. Most concerning was that she opened my baby’s pram without permission after I had said he was sleeping. These behaviours felt very disrespectful of privacy and boundaries, and I hope they are taken seriously.

Fantastic experience: I took my friend Elvira who has a phobia against seeing dentists to see Nikki Sommers at Gentle Dentistry Newton. Elvira describes Nikki as having Angel Eyes, a very gentle touch, very empathetic and above all knows her dentistry. Elvira recently had to have a tooth removed and couldn't believe that although it was a tough removal it was completed with minimum of disruption to her and that she felt no ill effects and was back to normal within a few hours. As well as that, the receptionist called after 18hrs to enquire how everything was and if there was anything they could do ensure a speedy recovery. Highly recommend Gentle Dentistry Newton and Nikki Sommers in particular.

Negative experience: Scam artists. Enjoy having $600 charges added to your simple check up and clean without any discussion of the costs. If only I knew then what I know now. Will never return

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Gentle Dentistry Newton for a number of years now, and ignoring just the normal awfulness of a dental experience, they are just wonderful. The reception ladies are lovely welcoming kind and helpful and the dentists and majority of the dental assistants are also kind compassionate understanding and non-judgemental. It is not a 'child dentist' as such but they also do a fantastic job at making the experience for children happy and positive. My daughter walked out of her check-up asking when we can see the tooth doctor again. I originally switched to Gentle Dentistry Newton because I couldn't find a dentist where my small front tooth filling (for a chip) would stay attached. I had had a filling done by 3 different dentists prior to GDN, but got it done at GDN once and once only (so far) and for a cheaper price than the others.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been seeing Dr. Nikki for longer than I can remember. Professional, friendly and very skilled. Our kids are actually happy when we go and see our dentist!

Fantastic experience: My children felt comfortable with Dr Nikki Sommers from the start, so much so that even I, after avoiding dental check-ups for years, built up the courage to see her. Nikki was incredibly thorough with my check-up and cleaning, and I have no doubt that she provides the same level of care for my children – after two fillings in the morning, my younger child was back to her usual self later that day, which speaks a lot about Nikki’s approach. The receptionists were also patient and friendly, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free.

Negative experience: Do not recommend gentle dentistry. The lady at the desk was lovely but I was Absolutely Bucherd pulling out my tooth. They spilt a cup of water on me and squirted me in the face with water when cleaning in my mouth was so rough putting x-rays in. Didn't use enough water when drilling at my tooth I could taste everything. I was never offerd a break in between and I ended up sitting up multiple times to spit Because they didn't use the saliver sucker enough. and almost made me swallow bits of tooth 56 minutes of pulling drilling digging and pain for 1 tooth very disappointed.

Before this I was afraid of going to the dentist because I had a VERY bad experience but the staff welcomed me and made the experience actually enjoyable ! I mainly have chelsea (OHT) when I go to gentle dentistry because she is gentle, efficient and the quality of her work is really good ! I highly recommend gentle dentistry @ newton ! If you have had a bad experience they will do everything to make sure thatll never happen again! If I could give them 10 stars I would ! Keep it up !!!

Negative experience: Do not let Dr Nitika Kaushal touch you unless you want to be butchered! Drilled holes into my teeth without any numbing, told me to come back in 2 weeks to get them filled. Worst experience in the chair!

Fantastic experience: Dr Deborah Rea has been fantastic I can't recommend her enough, Dr Rea took care of my daughter's grinding issues. Carla was suffering tremendously with head aches and sore neck. Once Dr Rea recommenced a night guard and injectables in her Masseters problem was solved. Thanks to the amazing reception team that made me feel relaxed and stress free regarding my daughter. Thanks team a job well done.
