Fantastic experience: Incredible service from all staff, especially Dr Kevin Ho. He was so gentle and caring, I fell asleep during my difficult prolonged procedure! Highly recommend Dr Kevin Ho, especially for those who are anxious at the dentist.

Negative experience: If there was a zero star option, I would choose it because they truly deserve that. I had a terrible experience at this clinic. The dental work was poor — a rough filling caused injury and infection, leading to repeated antibiotics. There was little transparency or communication, and I was sent for unnecessary visits before finally being told I needed a root canal. During my extraction, I was in severe pain due to poor anaesthesia management. The dentist was new and inexperienced, which another staff member even confirmed. The manager was also unhelpful when I raised my concerns. Overall, it was a painful and stressful experience that even caused me to lose work because of the ongoing pain.

Fantastic experience: The frontline team is incredibly helpful and friendly. I felt so comfortable booking ahead for a number of procedures after they gave me a really clear breakdown of the costs, what my health insurance would cover, and that there was no rush to book each appointment afterwards. The dentists and nurses have all been really professional, friendly, and thorough. As someone who put off going to the dentist as much as possible, I'm definitely much less worried about getting my teeth looked after and my bank balance now!

After avoiding routine dental care for years from previous poor experiences with other dental providers I decided to give Tankard a go when I needed some urgent care. Honestly so glad I did, since then I’ve been back multiple times to fix or maintain all the routine care I’d been avoiding and my experiences couldn’t have been any better. Fantastic facilities, care and team, genuine, attentive and high-quality care. Cheers guys!

Negative experience: I had a tooth filled (initial step of root canal)in on 25th of February 2024. A month later, the side of the tooth chipped, which was yesterday. Hence I rang in to book an appointment. Initially I could not get any appointment, but after being persistent, I was finally booked in for the next day 3.30 pm appointment which was today. They agreed to do it out of cost which I do appreciate given that it’s been only a month and it’s broken. The people at the reception are extremely nice and warm, no complaints there, however the dentist who is really nice to me at first appointment seem to have passive aggression when he had to fill the chip tooth again and he did not put any in needle to numb the area and started drilling my teeth. I could feel every bit of it and it was hurting at the time of the appointment. I asked him if there is any cuts since it’s hurting under the tongue really bad but he told me that it’s gum. What is I know that gums are on the side which is from the teeth arise, not the skin under the tongue. The skin underneath was hurting really bad, hence I asked him if there is anything since it’s hurting, but I was not taken seriously. Also. At the end of the appointment, when he gave me a mirror to check, I told him that the side of the tooth is which seems a little bit lower than expected, or than the initial time which I had filled in Darwin, not at their. He went on told me that it is supposed to be as it’s there, a bit lower since I would bite it and break it myself. I told him I’m not professional but I do know my teeth so it’s not how it supposed to be. He kept saying it’s a temporary filling it’s a temporary filling and when I looked on the mirror I saw that there was a cut on the side of my tongue with a bit of blood ,where I was feeling the burn. He didn’t say anything this time.After my appointment when I came home and checked to to see how it is only to find out the side has been chipped again already within an hour, leaving a sharp as that’s cutting my tongue and my skin when I talk. I’ve had the same filling two years ago in Darwin and it lasted me for one this long until feb, only reason I had to take it off was because it started hurting again and I know how it is. Hence this time I’m told that this is only temporary filling which I do understand but I do know how long it supposed to last and I do know how it works. The doctor didn’t seem to be interested in what I was trying to say instead coming up with counter argument which wasn’t very helpful at all. I was distressed that time. Honestly, I do understand things don’t go right all the way, but what I felt was a bit unprofessional and waste of my time, leaving me broken tooth every time.

Positive experience: Staff are always polite and very nice. No long waiting period to get an appointment and very short wait on arrival. All dentist's and assistants have been excellent. I prefer to have continuity with my dentist, however they seem to change annually.

Negative experience: My Friend is currently in discussion with the Principal of this Dental Practice regarding work that was carried out in April. He underwent extraction of teeth from his lower jaw. He was under the assumption he could then wear the denture that was made and supplied through this Practice. After 4 hours in the dental chair, the dentist was unable to finish the work. It was my opinion that upon exiting the Practice he was entering a state of 'shock'. This happened in early April. He was given the denture and then told that it probably won't fit and they wouldn't charge him any further...... he was shocked by this comment at the time as the denture had taken almost 3 months to be made due to initial faulty workmanship and this necessitated a 2nd imprint to be taken to ensure correct alignment. He now (August 4+ months later) remains unable to wear the denture. He has undergone further surgery with a maxillofacial surgeon and is needing further corrective repair work before he is able to wear teeth implant allowing him to eat properly. He is 69 years old and is unable to enjoy a steak....his diet and over all well being has been heavily impacted as a result of the dental work carried out at this Practice. His out of pocket expenses are now expected to be around $20,000+ when he was expecting the denture to fit as advised by the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Both my wife and I have had treatments with Tankard Dental in recent times and have both found the staff there to be caring, professional and thoughtful throughout. In my own case, the discovery of an oral cancer led to remedial surgery in Adelaide and, ultimately, saved my life. No surprise then, that for our future dental needs we'll be back to Tankards.
