Fantastic experience: A colleague of mine recently suggested that I try out Griffith University Student Dental Clinic because she goes there regularly and absolutely sings their praises. I had previously only ever been to private dental practices but when I was quoted thousands of dollars for an emergency treatment, I decided to go. I cannot begin to tell you how pleasantly surprised I was! I can honestly say that each time I went, over a number of weeks, I had such wonderful experiences that I will never forget the care, kindness and professionalism that was shown to me. The staff over the phone and in person were always very friendly and caring. The dentists I had were exceptional, so I would like to name them. I had two dentists who worked as a team, one treating and the other supporting. They were 5th year Canadian dental students ( who will be graduating in December), Denis and Reesha. Denis was my primary dentist while Reesha supported him. I have been to many dentists over the years but these two dental students were exceptional. Not only were they genuinely compassionate (incredible bedside manner), caring and reassuring when I needed it the most, they were extremely knowledgeable, skilful and professional. I was treated with great respect and they included me in their discussions so that I could make an informed decision about my treatment options. I never felt rushed either. The supervisors, were very professional, kind and supportive too. I felt that I was in good hands the whole time and was given very good post treatment advice as well. I'd like to give a big thank you to Griffith University Dental clinic for doing such an amazing job in training your dental students. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional and I will be continuing to go to Griffith University Dental Clinic in preference to private practice. What makes it even more amazing is that as a senior Australian citizen, the entire cost of my entire treatment was covered, for which I am truly grateful. Denis and Reesha will make excellent dentists and I wish them every success in their future careers as truly exceptional health professionals.. With sincere thanks and gratitude. Sonja Stauder

Fantastic experience: Couldn't be happier. Alice has been fantastic with doing all my dental work and I have felt safe and confident the whole time she doing her magic. She always made sure I was comfortable and made me feel relaxed the whole time. Katherine has been amazing assisting Alice with all my appointments. I also had peter for one appointment and he was awesome too. He had a lot of little facts. Thank you so much for everything you's have done.

Fantastic experience: Dental services great. Parking bad. As far as I can gather if your a public patient receiving low cost dental then tough, you pay for your parking at the hospital or get public transport. If you are a paying private patient then you get the boom gate code.

Negative experience: Took them 3 hours to perform an extraction. They had to surgically remove it after yanking at my tooth for 2 hours straight. I was left with an open wound, the stitches weren’t administered properly and now I have a dry socket. I was also sent away without any pain relief. I highly suggest you stay as far away from these students. They also tried to force me to get a root canal as they wanted practice before the year ends. Avoid the late year student NICOLE at all costs. Rude, rough and incompetent.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here to the Griffith University Dental Clinic for some years now. The staff and services are great. Polite and respectful. Regarding the parking…well, over the years I’ve been coming there has always been easy parking available. However, today, the boom gates are down to the public and the parking area it seems has now been allocated to the health workers. So dental patients will now have to find alternative parking or go to the paid parking building which is very expensive located at the Gold Coast University Hospital. That’s a challenge for those older ones who have trouble walking and do not have disability parking permits. There are only 2 disability bays and 5 special permit bays directly outside the clinic building. First in, best dressed I guess! I hope whoever is in charge can see that the current arrangement for dental clinic patient parking at the Gold Coast Griffith University Dental Clinic is 0 and may be causing anxiety and stress for many. Be nice to see a “P” for the patients who visit the Dental Clinic.

Negative experience: Attended the dental clinic for the first time. The Reception team were wonderful courteous and helpful, however this is where it ended. I had a cracked tooth which I wished to have removed and was given an appointment within the dental student clinic - which I had no objection to. I was given an examination and explained that long term I wished to have my teeth removed and dentures - primarily having suffered at an early age from dental trauma. The visit was to have the cracked tooth removed and then assessment plan. The dental student assigned was wonderful however once the Supervisor intervened I was informed that I would need to go to Qld health and he was recommending only a filling for the cracked tooth. Long story short - I left with no repair to my tooth very disappointed and the following day had to seek alternative dentist to remove for which I paid. I am a pensioner and the Supervisor did not seem to wish to listen to or acknowledge my choice.

Fantastic experience: Receptionist are wonderful so helpful,and the students wat can I say great work and great personalities had 15 teeth removed,I'm glad I came hear

Negative experience: Parking issues: I brought my daughter to the Gold Coast University Hospital Dental Clinic today, and although the parking lot had only two cars inside, the boom gate was closed and access was denied. It’s really disappointing that instead of offering paid parking or temporary access, they simply close it off, causing unnecessary stress for patients and their families. People are already anxious when coming to a hospital, and this kind of poor planning only makes things worse. A simple solution could save a lot of time and frustration.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the Griffith University students treating my dental health has been amazing. I am currently under the care of Cheryl and Katherine who are fantastic. I actually have a significant dental phobia and these two dentists have shown me understanding, empathy, professionalism and have actually dispelled my dental treatment phobia. Such dedication, devotion, skill and kindness to their patients is so appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Added in recent visits as of Feb 28. Very good experience. Zephyr did such a great job both in the difficult work he had to do, the explanations and what I had to do st home. Big future ahead for Zephyr. His supervisor on the day was really excellent also. Been to the clinic twice on the recommendation of my wife Shirley who was very happy with a complicated procedure. Both dentists I’ve been to since are exceptional, and this mornings dentist( think her name was Amber) was the best I’ve ever been to. Highly competent and professional, interested in the outcomes, and all with world class equipment and support. Seems you have to edit the above to post a new review but had another very good experience yesterday from Lauren’s first clean and recommendations for ongoing work, to the Oral Surgery students who were also exceptional. Best wishes to Ann who had completed her dentistry degree that day. She will be a terrific dentist!

Negative experience: I have been visiting Griffith university dental as a paying customer (no health care card) for a few years now and have never felt so taken advantage of. I paid to have a clean with one of the students and during this procedure the student had the vibration of the cleaning tool so high it dislodged part of a filling in one of my teeth. I had never been in so much pain during a clean before. I went back in to have this taken care of and after 3 hours (third attempt at getting it right) and lost wages at work, I was taken to the front desk and charged $275 for the filling. I mentioned to the lady at the desk that it was due to a previous clean but she just brushed me off and said I only work payments. I will never return after being treated so unfairly, and the fact that you couldn’t even reply to my email i sent in trying to address this issue solidifies my decision.

Fantastic experience: In my opinion, it has always been an exceptional experience visiting the dental clinic for the past five years. I highly recommend it for its relatively affordable dental services. The presence of senior dentists supervising the students provides assurance, as you can always address any concerns directly with them.

Fantastic experience: awesome affordable treatment students are awesome and very well supervised. I’ve been going to Griffith University dental clinic Gold Coast for many years. Now they have taken me from a mouthful of terrible teeth to a brand-new bright smile with upper and lower dentures starting off with partial dentures immediate dentures at $900 are very affordable and if you have a healthcare card or pension card you can actually get free treatment. You are entitled to one set of dentures every five years and I use this service. My last three student dentist actually passed me to each other. They are friends and flatmates, each of them told me that they would make sure that I got a good dentist. Next time I came back and that promise has been kept every time it can get quite busy receptionist. Staff are very friendly and efficient and there is also x-ray facilities on site. I highly recommend this service and the best way to learn is by experience. I cannot think Reagan Ritarba and cianna enough. They have been wonderful. Reagan is taking care of me at the moment and she is wonderful. She is going to be excellent dentist five stars all around for this service cannot fault at all

Fantastic experience: GUDC were amazing for me. Dental students Rayan and Ali were above and beyond in their professionalism. My dentures fit perfectly I cannot speak highly enough for these guys. I wish these guys the very best in life with their chosen profession.

Negative experience: The service is great, but NOT providing parking now is ridiculous

Fantastic experience: Currently having a procedure done at the clinic I was lucky enough to have Two amazing Dentists/students Killeen and Kristen who have looked after me through the whole procedure. They have done an amazing job on my teeth 10/10 and highly recommend their work. I have never been more comfortable going to a dentist. The kindness these guys showed me is outstanding I didn't feel embarrassed or ashamed at all. a couple of weeks to go and I will have my teeth all sorted and will be able to smile and eat again and not feel ashamed or embarrassed. Thank you Griffith University Dental clinic for giving me such an amazing dental team and making the process more comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Mohit and Mohammad were very professional and perform knowledgeable dental care I highly recommend them For any treatment including children

Negative experience: Rang 4 times, waited on hold for over 15 mins each time, requested all back service did not work 4 times. Why is it so hard for a company to answer the phone with a human being these days!

Negative experience: 2 hours in the chair for a FILLING, which they couldn't even finish it. Now, I'll have to go to a proper dentist to go through this procedure again since they left my tooth half open. The cherry on the top was when I heard them saying 'this is the wrong tooth'!!!!!! SERIOUSLY? Left the appointment TRAUMATIZED and will NEVER go back.

Positive experience: Excellent dental work done by students and supervisors

Negative experience: I had a root canal with the students they could not do the post that day put a temporary cover and said will contact me in 2 days did not hear from them at all got onto clinical manager who booked me into specialist at Griffith uni he put another cover over my root canal but in meantime sliced my tongue and had to have two stitches he blamed me for moving my tongue then the nurse pricked her finger with the needle that went in my mouth I had to have bloods After that root canal was playing up went to a private dental specialist who said there has been a nerve left in so have to have the whole thing done again Griffith uni would not accept responsibility or accountability for it Do not go to them for any serious work a clean maybe ok I have been through hell and back with them Never again

Negative experience: Wow They dont even know how long to get implants done Could be over 18months been told No wounder People are going overseas to get these DONE BIDC are great too 5 to get Booking after seeing xray

Negative experience: Please do NOT go here for wisdom tooth removal. I got two teeth removed from here and I have been in pain ever since. I can't smile anymore without experiencing pain, my face is sensitive to cold and it is overall just irritating. As a result I have been unemployed for 2 years. I have gone back to them multiple times and one of the doctors even said that the pain I am experiencing had nothing to do with the procedure and that I had it before. They are nothing but liars. When I had the procedure the dentist said if anything goes wrong they will fix it straight away. That dentist has put me through so much pain and they just go about their life. They don't care. On my last visit they said that I had to pay. I told them that it was in relation to the tooth extraction but they said because it has been over a year they need to charge me. Stay away from them. It is worth paying the money to go private with someone experienced. At Griffith dental you get it for free because you are practice for the students. Please stay away from them.

Positive experience: The dentist and assistants are amazing and I would give them 5 stars but unfortunately one older lady at reception is extremely rude and patronising. Hence the four stars. I believe this person might benefit from some customer training.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Christine May. Her and the team did an incredible job at making me feel comfortable, despite how scary pulling out 4 teeth while awake can be. They made it a complete pain free experience - the recovery has also been amazing with 0 pain. And I usually have a low pain tolerance. When I had a question about the healing process a couple days later and emailed through some photos, she responded immediately! Would highly recommend to anyone who is considering it :) Very grateful

Negative experience: Shout out to the receptionist behind the counter at the Qscan clinic for making me cry because I didn’t know my X-ray couldn’t be a walk in (even though their website says nothing about that and my dentist was confident that you could do walk ins). Don’t do a customer service job if you’re going to be miserable.

Fantastic experience: Great job by Bimini ,Steven And Prof. Tooth cut out and stitched , very little discomfort during and days after the op.

Fantastic experience: I have over the past four weeks been a patient at the Uni dental clinic for a new partial plate, the treatment and support I recieved was amazing the student that I was assigned to UMME HANI was so caring and explained all of the proceedures before it commenced in a way that was easy for me to understand today, I was fitted with the new plate and it fitted perfectly! I was so pleased that after four weeks everthing went perfectly well. I would like to congratulate UMME for the professional way she conducted herself and her mannerisim, excellent patient service. thank you Griffith Uni Dental! and I would like to wish UMME the very best in her future career she is perfectly skilled to be a great dentist/dental professional.

Fantastic experience: All the students and supervisors and reception staff here are hard-working, nice and lovely. So patient with my teeth. Wish the students all the best and hope they become full pledged Dentists.

Negative experience: Griffith dental made me spent 2k in a treatment to get 3 implants, during 2 years to never even get quoted for the implants. They already removed me 2 teeth and wanted me to remove another one. Because of them pushing me to remove that teeth made the others weaker as there is a hole between teeth and made it worse without even EVER get an appointment for the implants, AFTER 2 YEARS asking in EVERY session for it. If you guys that busy don't take patients, also if you can't do anything else than cleanings and filings it's a bit concerning, what you teaching to your students...? Also during all process I had a VERY bad infection after they removed me a tooth, and didn't even want to get me in for an urgent appointment, they were too busy. "Some" receptionist very burnt out of their work, they should change if they don't like to have a work where they have to talk or to face to people. Griffith dental is one of that places where CHEAP MEANS EXPENSIVE Good luck with them, if it would be free I could understand, but they charging money for a service for students to learn? Excuse me? BTW all the students were very nice, it's just the policy of this University, scamming, thank you

Positive experience: Addendum 11/1/22 Please update phone hours on Google as lists open till 7pm but when called at 4.45pm message says 'Closed' - thank you! Have a bit of a phobia from past dentists but each time I attend the Griff Uni professional dentists they are friendly, gentle & caring. Each dentist & dental nurse that I have seen over 4 years has gone out of their way to explain everything, offer suggestions & put me at ease. On the whole, the receptionists have been okay albeit a couple who are not overly welcoming such as the young lady yesterday hence the 4/5 stars

Fantastic experience: Wonderful dental clinic, I saw a 5th year student and he was just amazing, he was so patient with me and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole consult, one of the best dentist I have ever seen, the supervising doctors were lovely and so helpful to the dental students. All reception staff were lovely and great prices, will definitely be coming back. Thank you all for your care!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great things to say about this clinic. I come here all the time. The people here are delightful and professional at all times. I cannot praise them enough. Prices are much better than your general dentist. Worth the wait. Except parking can sometimes be hard, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time as parking can be limited. You receive a gate code to get in the parking via your mobile the day before. I really recommend this clinic a hundred percent :)

Negative experience: My appointment was 3 months ago & whilst I was not in an immediate hurry because I wanted the best treatment & options, my front teeth were & had been loose for a long time, I waited 4 months for that appointment. I was feeling pain & severe discomfort & it is worse now! I was told by a friend they were the best so was prepared to waiting! My patience is wearing thin... I really do think it is in the too hard basket for Julian now - I left 2 messages a week apart with the Receptionist after thinking 3 months is too long to wait, absolutely no follow up is BAD! - to finally get a call to find out he is now going to refer me onto someone else!! I am waiting!! Most wouldn't!!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Laura Waldie for looking after me on 19.05.21. She is a 4th year Dental Student and after Graduating she will be one of the best Dentists anyone could ask for. She was very professional, confident, fast and what I like most she explained everything before doing it. Well done Laura keep up the great work.

Negative experience: It took over an hour to pull out my tooth, was in tears. In agony for 24 hours afterwards from all the pushing and pulling, will never go back there again! Been to prior dentists where I haven't experienced this.

Fantastic experience: I've seen Dr Manakil twice now and I would define her peridontical treatment as the most gentle caring and empathetic I could imagine for such a mess to be found beneath and a above my teeth. I would highly highly recommend consulting with Dr Manakil before it's too late.

Fantastic experience: Received superb dental care from JC and Dean. Initially being petrified of the dentist and then attending the clinic with ease. JC and Dean were so kind, considerate and made me feel at ease with each visit. These two gentlemen will become fine young dentists and I wish them well in their chosen career.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staffs and dentistry students :) Done my dental check up and wisdom teeth extraction here, the price was reasonable especially for international students who doesn’t have any medicare cover. Service :10/10 , nice and caring

Fantastic experience: I have two experiences with them. The first one wasn't good at all, A lot confusing diagnosis and the procedure suggested was totally different and wrong compared with my second experience. So glad qith the new Dental student for my next treatment. The second time everything was perfect, very helpful and friendly staff, but the biggest difference was the new Dental Student Keving Yaeger. He was extremely professional and accurate in the diagnosis. Always he found the right solution for my problem and also suggested another options according with my budget. Very honest guy and empathic with me as his patients. I hope I doesn't change in the future. We need doctors like him.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic private dental clinic, Dentist is so knowledgeable! Highly recommend this clinic as I went to another dental clinic years ago and told I needed 5 fillings which was not true at all. Sad to see some people argue to pay for this service saying they wanted a student... The choice is yours when you call do you want to see a private dentist or a student. Students apparently have a 12 month waiting period and low cost and recommended for those with no health insurance :)

Fantastic experience: Awesome, took advantage of the free dental check up for my 8 and 11 year old boys. My older boy is autistic and was very anxious about his check up but Fraser really did a brilliant job with him and made him feel relaxed and comfortable. Hari was equally as good with my younger son and very professional. Thank you

Positive experience: Lovely front desk staff . The students are great very caring and work hard to achieve good standards. The supervising Docters are very professional people . Im always nervous about Dentistry but lm always put at ease with thier gentle approach. Goldcosters are very lucky we have all this available .l thank you all doing a wonderful job .

Positive experience: Helpful friendly staff, dental students are normally pretty good. Though I did have a filling done by a student & now that needs to be removed & redone because it's too big. Maybe the qualified dental teaching staff need to oversee the work while in progress.

Fantastic experience: Have bee attending Griffith Uni Clinic for the last 5 years as a Queensland Health patient. Have had many students work on my teeth. They have all been good, if sometimes a little slow. but if they're not sure on how to proceed the supervisor will either advise them, or step in and finish the procedure. The service and care I have received there is excellent.

Negative experience: Terrible Ruined my teeth from a procedure there DO NOT RECOMMEND Students that don't know what they are doing and rude incompetent staff

Fantastic experience: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. There was virtually no waiting and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The surgeon I had was excellent, he removed my wisdom teeth easily and I had no problems afterwards. The price was very reasonable, great if you need urgent surgery on a budget.

Fantastic experience: i didn't have to wait i was seen straight away , and am now receiving all my treatments through Griffith Uni Dental , as it's the best dentist iv'e ever been to , even in a case of emergency i was seen within a day
