Fantastic experience: I must admit that this is the most pleasant, friendly and helpful dental clinic that I have ever been to. The staff are so friendly and hospitable, specially Roshna and Lucia. My highest recommendation is Dr Mayu whose procedures are with the least possible pain and the most excellent results. You really have to give it a GO and only then will you KNOW.

Positive experience: I went on Christmas Eve and the doctor was really kind and very patient. Even though he had lost his phone a couple of minutes before my appointment, he remained extremely professional. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel comfortable throughout the consultation. The only thing I didn’t like was that I tried to pay using an EFTPOS card, and apparently the receptionist didn’t know how to use it and didn’t want to help me or try to check if it was working.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional service from start to finish. My husband called with an urgent dental issue and Lucia was honestly one of the best understanding, attentive and so efficient. She booked him in with Dr. Mayu Lingathas who performed the emergency extraction gently and professionally. We felt very well looked after. I’m truly thankful to the whole team. Fantastic experience: Was planning only to clean my teeth today, Doctor Mayu convinced me into taking my wisdom teeth out too. 5 star to Doctor Mayu as he promised there is actually not much pain when he took the teeth out and he has great sense of humor which makes you less nervous. Negative experience: I had an appointment with Dr. Andrew at 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 15, but when I arrived, the receptionist claimed it wasn’t in their system. I showed her my booking confirmation email as well. She said the clinic closes at 5:30 PM, even though both Google and their website list their hours until 6 PM. When I pointed this out, she simply said she would inform higher management to correct it. What’s frustrating is that they could see my past cancellations but not my confirmed booking. I had canceled other appointments because I secured this specific time, and nowhere on their website does it say cancellations aren’t allowed. When I asked how my appointment disappeared without notice, she vaguely responded, “Since you canceled another appointment, someone might have canceled this one.” When I questioned, “Without informing me?”, she had no real answer and simply said, “I don’t know, normally it shouldn’t happen.” I asked for a solution, and the receptionist said the manager would contact me. I expressed doubts about whether that would actually happen, but she assured me their manager was customer-focused and would definitely reach out. I understand that mistakes happen, but what’s completely unacceptable is the lack of accountability, no effort to fix the issue, and not even a basic apology. On top of that, I was blatantly lied to. A week has passed, and no one has contacted me to offer a solution or even acknowledge the situation. It’s clear that she just wanted to get rid of me that day. What makes this even more disappointing is that this wasn’t my first visit—I went there for my follow-up check-up, and I never had any issues before. I don’t know what changed, but it’s clear their service has declined significantly. This was a complete waste of my time, and the way they handled it was completely unprofessional. Not the best way to treat returning patients.

Negative experience: Charged my insurance for a clean -510 and the entire process took 10 mins as they were rushing unnecessary X-rays. Even if x rays were required at least give a proper clean as intended Then had the roughest clean that was poorly done where despite the discomfort - no local anaesthesia was offered (to rush the procedure in 10 mins) and the inexperienced assistant kept suctioning my tongue. Better off paying from your insurance for a better dental practice where your dental clean actually feels properly done.

Negative experience: 1 star review is really pushing this. It's been about 6 mths since I last visited this clinic when I was a member of BUPA. Thanks to 2 awful experiences here, I have now left BUPA. In my opinion and from reading other reviews, my gut instinct was right from the word "get go." I went there for an emergency visit as I had a cracked back tooth. Was told by the male arrogant dentist Dr Maratos that my tooth was decayed ! When I asked another question kindly in relation to my tooth, his reply was abrupt. I replied with my hands up like woooah hang on, please calm down. I asked if it could be fixed, and he replied NO your tooth is decayed." There's nothing I can do !" Wow, state of the art facilities world class equipment, boasts to be the best dentist around on his other social media websites and this arrogant, temperament of a man is telling me there is nothing he can do ! Even then, if he could, did he actually then think I was going to stay lying in that chair, putting my life in his hands ? So I said ok thankyou, got my jacket," and walked out- The Chinese secretary with little English was astonished when she saw me walk out 5 min after I entered. So, I then walked down the road to another dentist they saw me the next day- hands of God, yes my tooth was decayed, they explained calmly it was my wisdom tooth and it wasnt necessary but they were willing to clean around it fill up the area where the hole was and advised that in future its best to extract it due to it being a Wisdom tooth. The best experience, fast, quick, gentle, knowledgeable dental practice run by Australian professionals. I went home called BUPA advised them of DR Maratos explained my two terrible experiences she was from the BUPA complaints but in Queensland and was astonished with the treatment or lack of as I was explaining, whether the dentist in question was ever followed up I will never know. I demanded my money back from my membership that month, also the money I had to pay for my other dental appointment and I joined a different health insurer. Never in anyone's life should they ever be made to feel vulnerable they way I was made to feel in that dental by Maratos ! He, in my eyes, is a criminal, has zero empathy, zero care factor, and needs to seriously change careers. Dental is not for him anymore, maybe back in his hey day, but now move on. I'm lucky I had the courage that day to get up and walk out, what if I was an elderly person, scared, took his word for his ill advice- this Maratos man made me walk out of this state of the art BUPA clinic in Hurstville with a hole in my tooth not fixed nor a solution or advice as what to do. I went back a few hours later spoke to the Chinese secretary and said I want his name- she was trying to do eveything possible to get information out of me find out why I wanted his name, the little dental assistant with Botox lips, fake tan, was just as arrogant as the dentist and laughed or battered a few words as she was listening on. Overall, it was the worst experience to do with a dentist in my life. Everyone, please, do not go to BUPA dental Hurstville unless the whole clinic has been revamped with new dentists, new dental assistants, new secretary they are from my experience 1 big Mafia- just don't. Stay away.

Negative experience: Disappointing Customer Service and Subpar Dental Treatment I had an appointment at Bupa on Saturday, 7th December 2024, at 2:10 PM, but the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. Firstly, the receptionist was unprofessional. I arrived early at 1:40 PM, but instead of confirming my appointment or engaging with me, she was on the phone dealing with another complaint. After the call, she chatted with her colleague, ignoring me. When I tried to confirm if my membership card was working (due to previous issues), her responses were dismissive and impatient. The dental treatment was no better. I was directed to Dr. Theresa Lam, who seemed offended when I didn’t remember her name and then began speaking to me in Chinese. When I didn’t respond, she stopped talking altogether. She didn’t explain any steps of the treatment and rushed through the entire cleaning and fluoride application in just 10 minutes. The receptionist then asked if I wanted to book a six-month follow-up. After such a poor experience and rushed treatment, I can’t imagine returning. This visit left me frustrated and questioning the quality of care Bupa provides. I expected much better service from such a reputed provider.

Negative experience: Bad Experience at Bupa Dental Hurstville In a time when inclusivity should be at the forefront of every business, Bupa Dental Hurstville has proven to be a disgrace. My disabled son and his carers were not only belittled but made to feel unwelcome and subjected to blatant discrimination. In the 20 years since his accident, never has he been so marginalized and devalued. This appalling treatment is unacceptable, and we will be taking this matter to the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).

Fantastic experience: Thank you Bupa Dental Hurstville for tending to my elderly father today. The service was outstanding. Fantastic experience: The reception staff, Nina, is incredibly friendly with a warm smile. Afterward, I forgot to request a doctor's certificate, and she promptly emailed it for me. Dr. Cindy is also excellent, explaining things clearly, and the teeth extractions were very efficient. I'm usually quite afraid of dental procedures, but this time I didn't feel scared at all.

Negative experience: Teresa Lam is the most egoistic and arrogant dentist I have ever seen. I won’t recommend her for anyone. I was sent between the practice and Bupa service center multiple times stating that my bupa card doesn’t work only to realise that it was trivial mistake of entering the wrong item code by the dentist. After wasting 4 hours of my time, I was yelled at when asked about the mistake and the time wasted. Mistakes are common, but the arrogance and denial of their mistake clearly shows the egoistic mentality of this dentist. I ended up not getting the treatment done and wasted my yearly treatment limit on my insurance even because of this behaviour from the dentist. Just so everyone knows - ‘DOS too old’ was the error they got while raising the quote and apparently they were using an old item/service code. Such a simple mistake but I was told my card has expired and i immediately got the digital card online with a bit of struggle and with that they started getting a different error ‘no Telehealth’. I was then sent to the bupa service center and they confirmed there is nothing wrong with the card but they didn’t know why they were getting these errors (another customer service failure). In the end, I had a stressful morning, 4 hours wasted, and treatment not done as the dentist decided to go for lunch (btw I was asked to wait for 30 minutes post my original appointment time as the dentist was having breakfast) and didn’t treat as it was lunch time by the time the issue was identified. Pathetic experience, will never go back to Teresa Lam and Bupa dental Hurstville.

Negative experience: Patients beware - they don't ask your consent or outline your service options/prices. They automatically will give you xrays and photo documentation and then charge you for it which will take the bill of what i thought was a just a general clean to up to $450. You have to know in advance to tell them not to do it to get the price i was quoted for a general clean which should have been $177.5. That's a big difference. I also left feeling like my teeth weren't thoroughly cleaned and found it surprising that the fluoride treatment they just rub some with their finger on your teeth and don't make you wait for it to sink it - you spit it out right away.

Negative experience: I had the misfortune of attending this clinic this morning. The attitude of both the dentist and the receptionist on finding out I didn’t have private health cover was insulting. I was made to feel unwelcome and for someone who finds it stressful to go to a dentist anyway it was most unhelpful. It might be helpful for all parties to look at the information given when booking and then look at thr information form you fill in to avoid misunderstanding. I wouldn’t waste my time going back.

Negative experience: Dr Theresa Lam was the worst dentist I ever been. She is rude, arrogant and treat patients like morons. She treats you like she is doing you a favor and told me to go back to my old dentist. So much attitude for someone working with public. Don't bother to ever go there.

Negative experience: Dr Andrew Maratos took advantage of me not having much dental knowledge and made me purchase over expensive things that I didn't need. The reception also try their hardest to not give you invoices and receipts. There are better places to go! AVOID!

Negative experience: WARNING DON'T GO THERE Asked for price for ( 222 dental code) I agreed . Then instead they do random fast 250 code. Also took the dentist 10 to15 minutes to realise the tool was blunt. After the random 250 code treatment ,, they are trying to convince me they are the same BUT THE PRICE ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT.. Also they just told me today that dentists code is only for dentists and its non of my business . Tried to also reason to correct it If you want to waste your money and NOT GETTING THE TREATMENT YOU ASKED FOR HAVE FUN AT Bupa hurstville dental..

Fantastic experience: 5 stars! We were delighted with the service at Bupa Hurstville today. Staff on reception were warm and friendly and handled our registration quickly and easily. Dr Lam was fantastic and clearly explained everything she was doing during our appointments. Thoroughly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Jojo at the front was a delight and looked after me well as I came in, then Teresa and Ting sorted my clean in no time. Had a laugh and flashed my sparkly clean teeth. Thank you ladies great job!
Fantastic experience: First visit with Dr Theresa today. Appreciated additional 'no charge' work, thank you! The staff there, from the receptionist through to assistants, all very courteous and professional - with lovely smiles :) See you guys in 6 months!

Negative experience: I have never seen like this bad Bupa dental center. Do not go there to waste your money. No explanation after check up, not valued, no communication, rude staffs, very expensive. I have paid 400$ for 10 min check up. 1 star is more than enough for them.

Negative experience: They are totally rip off!!! They claimed almost all of my whole year Bupa dental extra cover for one time regular clean up!!! They crazily took lots of pictures that I think totally unnecessary and charged from my insurance. Also the dentist there was very rude!! The treated me like that I am a difficult patient and the truth is that the dentist did not try to understand what I was saying. During the whole treatment, they only care about whether they are going to run out of time because they only give me 15 minutes appointment!! The worst thing is that they still not fixed my teeth problems properly!! The same issue comes up again 2 months afterward. Normally this kind of issue won’t comes up again after few years!! They are rude and unprofessional. What they want is rip you off from your private insurance. I will never ever go there again!!! If you want to waste your money and end up need to find another dentist to fix you teeth, feel free to visit them.

Negative experience: Never ever going back! Very unhappy with my experience! I felt I was overcharged, after a week of treatment, I still had the same problem I came with. I came back after a week only to be told "what do you want me to do?!" Very very unprofessional.
