Fantastic experience: Dr Yew is really thorough and patient with her oral exam, assessment and explanation for my personal dental case. First time visit and she has assessed me in detail with 3D model scanner and explain to me about my oral habits, dental alignment and potential dental hygiene improvement. Even just a check up and clean she has reached above and beyond my expectation! Thank you and will definitely come back again!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Christine for a number of years, and have never been unhappy or put off. The clinic is clean, efficient, and private PLUS Christine is legit the quickest and gentlest dentist I’ve been to. For me, a check up and clean is generally done in just under 30mins. I started going a few years back for some fillings and have since been going for regular check ups and cleans (which are fairly priced, even without private health cover). Appointment scheduling is simple to change if you need. Great location on High Street, with trams and public parking making access easy. I have never particularly liked visiting the dentist, and I’ve had some gnarly experiences. Someone referred me to Christine and I’ve never looked back. I’ll always recommend Melbourne Smile Clinic if people need a new dentist!

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a local dentist and after reading the reviews about Melbourne Smile Clinic I chose them. I cannot fault Dr Christine Yew’s work and her attention to detail. I needed a couple of fillings replaced and also got two new porcelain veneers. I am absolutely happy with my new smile. I highly recommend Melbourne Smile Clinic.

Negative experience: Don’t go here for anything cosmetic but it’s good for general dentistry. Excellent quality root canal (years later) but utterly terrible front tooth cap/veneer. Wrong colour, shape, showed a line where it joined after a couple of months.

Fantastic experience: Like many people, I had avoided visiting a dentist unless I was in pain due to past experiences however this neglect resulted in me requiring more interventions. I really valued the honest assessment/consultation Dr Yew provided where a timeline and course of care was outlined to identify the different treatments required for my teeth, and the care with which those procedures were ultimately carried out. Needless to say it's now been 5 years since my first visit - I no longer fear visiting the dentist, (I'd routinely fallen asleep during procedures - including a root canal) but most importantly my oral health has improved greatly and I now only come back for regular scheduled checkups and maintenance. Thank you everyone at the Smile Clinic!

I began seeing Dr Yew about 5 years ago and I'm so pleased and relieved to have found a dentist I can stick with. Her demeanour is professional, caring and non-judemental. Her approach to treatment is always ethical and never pushy, explaining the most cost-effective and long -lasting options clearly. She even removed some very stubborn stains on my teeth which I thought I'd be stuck with for life. I began taking my son for check ups when he was 2, she was great with him and he patiently sits on the chair by himself which is a minor miracle! I highly recommend Dr Yew to friends, the other staff are also lovely and create a relaxing and calm environment. I had a check up and clean today and feel so much better for it!

I assumed that this was how all dentists were. Christine is gentle and thorough. She explains everything she's doing - even if it's just a clean. There have never been any surprise fees. She gives objective opinions on if procedures are required or only cosmetic (I had been told by my old dentist that I required Invisalign) Her staff are lovely. Our appointments have been easy to book in and always on time.

Negative experience: After a chipped tooth about a year ago I went to get a filling at this dentist. She advised me I needed a dental plate to prevent grinding. After wearing this for a couple of weeks, it caused me to wake up with a locked jaw and since this time, has permanently left a click in my jaw despite ceasing use. I since went to a specialist who said this jaw misalignment was likely caused by the ill-fitting plate and it cost me $2000 for treatment. In addition, the filling fell out within 3 days of repair and the replacement by the same dentist has just fallen out again. Not only has this dentist cost me thousands of dollars of origin cost and repair needed for the original work being done poorly, I have also now got permanent damage to my jaw. Don't go here.

Fantastic experience: Really happy with the service here. The appointment ran on time, friendly and gentle dental service. I'm generally quite afraid to go to my check ups, but Christine always makes me feel at ease. Will be back!

Negative experience: After an initial consult for a check up and clean I was advised I needed a filling on a tooth which did not seem to be problematic. I took the advice and got the filling and was in pain not just for hours, but for days and weeks. Went back and they begrudgingly redid the filling (though this in itself felt like a feat for them to do free of charge!) but it didn't fix the problem. When I went to see a new dentist I was shown that the tooth was cracked in two places. Given when the pain started it's almost certainly from when this filling was done. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this experience and now have to live with a cracked tooth for the rest of my life.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Christine Yew for a few years now for various reasons from small to big dental jobs and I would go no where else in Melbourne and highly recommend her clinic. Dr Yew and her staff are professional, polite and understanding. Dr Yew takes the time to answer questions and concerns in detail and makes you feel important, taking her time, being thorough and giving you options. I never feel pressured or rushed or just another number. My teeth are in great shape as she has fixed up previous dentists less than perfect work. Fantastic experience: Great dentist. Started going when I was living in Northcote. Years later, I still travel across the city for appointments. I wouldn't pay much attention to the guy who gave 2 x 1 star reviews a few years ago. Yes, it is very modern, and that's exactly why I go. I'm sure you can find an ultra cheap dentist with old, painful equipment. But, why would you want to?
