Fantastic experience: I've just completed a month of dental work, including some in-chair extractions with Dr Jade Yuan. I came to Dr Jade with some pretty big dental anxiety from previous traumatic experiences. Her care, attention and exceptional skill made it... less bad. For that, it's a 5 star review and I'll stay with Dr Jade. I'm never going to enjoy the dentist, but she has helped me build trust. It was not an outcome I was expecting, so that's a big deal for me. Thanks so much, Dr Jade.

Fantastic experience: I had a really pleasant appointment with Dr. Jade Yuan today. The whole visit was comfortable and stress-free, even the cleaning was painless. Dr. Jade Yuan was attentive, professional, and very supportive, clearly explaining my dental issues and what I should watch out for, and also taking the time to discuss possible treatment options. Fantastic experience: I always trust Shine Dentists for my dental check-ups, and my recent visit with Dr. Jade Yuan was fantastic. She's a kind and gentle dentist with a great sense of humor, which made the experience much more enjoyable. Dr. Yuan used state-of-the-art machines and X-rays to clearly explain everything that needed to be done. I needed two teeth extracted, and she made the entire process incredibly smooth and comfortable. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend booking an appointment with her!

Negative experience: What a nightmare it was! I wish I could take photos to show how all my teeth became chipped after my appointment with Van Trinh. She completely ruined my teeth, and the filling was not done poorly. Now my teeth are sensitive, and I was charged a significant amount for this experience. It has made a lifelong impact on my dental health. I strongly advise you to avoid this dentist and place.

Negative experience: My wife's experiences with Van Trinh were extremely unsatisfactory. Following two corrective visits for a filling, she now has chipped teeth and significant sensitivity. This was a profoundly negative experience.

Positive experience: Checkup and clean felt rushed and the polish was performed on maybe 1.5 teeth. Disappointing.

Negative experience: Yesterday's dental check-up and cleaning with Dr. Shi Ying was disappointing. The procedure was painful, and the final polish step was omitted. This is unacceptable, as I did not receive the full service I paid for.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dr Bennet Son, who I have been seeing for the past 3 years. Very thorough, patient and kind, especially in providing reassurance. Really don’t know how my teeth can get so much whiter after just a routine check up! Thanks Dr Son!

Negative experience: Terrible Experience at Shine Dentistry – Visit At Your Own Risk. After a pricey ‘clean’ and an ‘inspection’, I was left with a badly chipped tooth and a horrific experience. I have been a long-time patient at Shine Dentistry, paying out of pocket and with Afterpay as I don't have health insurance. I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience. The dentist was running late, but I was understanding as it was the end of the day. By the time my appointment started, it was rushed and painful. A couple of hundred dollars later, I got halfway home, before realising my tooth had been chipped during the clean. I was extremely shocked and couldn’t believe that it had happened to me. I called them straightaway and was relieved to find someone at reception still there afterhours. I explained how unhappy I was, and was informed that the dentist that preformed the service was going on holiday. I was offered an appointment to have it filled by another dentist. I clarified that I would not be paying for a filling as the damage was their fault. The receptionist agreed and I was to come in two days later. This was inconvenient as I had taken the afternoon off work for the original appointment and would have to come back to Gungahlin for them to fix the situation. However, I accepted that mistakes happen and was ready for them to remedy the situation. The next day I was bombarded with calls while I was at work. Management was extremely rude and tried to gaslight me by saying my tooth had always been chipped and that I would have to pay for a filling. There was no empathy whatsoever for what was an unsightly, painful and inconvenient situation. The only explanation I could think of was that they might have dislodged a previous filling during the clean. When I asked, they confirmed that I had no previous fillings on that tooth, which only increased my frustration and confusion. They also sent me a photo from a previous appointment that contradicted their claims that it was chipped before. The photo clearly showed that the tooth was not chipped before the recent appointment. Despite all the evidence, management refused to acknowledge their responsibility nor offer a satisfactory resolution. After realising they would not rectify the situation, I had my solicitor send them a letter regarding their potential malpractice. Management’s response was hostile and offered no remedy for their mistake. This experience has been both painful and distressing, highlighting a disturbing lack of professionalism and empathy from Shine Dentistry. I strongly advise potential patients rethink before choosing this practice. Their disregard for patient care and unwillingness to address mistakes reflect poorly on their commitment to service. I will be seeking a resolution from a reputable business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Staff very polite. Dr Son was very informative and explained my dental issues and options. Dental procedure was quick and painless. After care information was given. Am so impressed, going back in 3 weeks to get the original cleaning job done.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to see Dr George Liao for 6 months or so now and I cannot recommend him enough. I have severe dental anxiety that has stopped me from seeking dental care for years. In my first appointment I let Dr George know I’m quite anxious and he has been nothing but patient, calm and understanding. I don’t want to be dramatic but seeing Dr George has all but changed my life and my view of dental care. Thank you to Shine Dentists and specifically thank you to Dr George!

He incredibly nice and patient, making me feel relaxed, also he skillfully corrected issues left by my previous dentist. Negative experience: I’ve had a decent experience here when I needed an emergency tooth fixture - However my mum saw Dr Van Trinh who left a small, sharp tool in my mums mouth. My mums mouth was numb so she didn’t know it was there until she woke up the next day in excruciating pain. I messaged the dentists and never got a reply about this. Also booking online doesn’t seem to work? Booked online then came to the dentist for them to tell me their online booking system doesn’t even work lol. Customer service can be really good here but it’s a 50/50 chance

Negative experience: Dont get your fillings done here, they just damage your teeth more. the fillings that i got done here needs to be completely removed and redone. They didnt even clean my cavity and directly done little fillings on top to cover it.

Negative experience: The worst filling I ever got, they didn’t fully clean my cavity and the cavity is still visible even after the filling is done.

Negative experience: I had been seeing Dr Ying Shi for the past 5 years. After a failed root canal and very rough fillings, I am now left with approx 15k in expenses to fix everything after going to another dentist for a 2nd opinion. All the fillings Dr Ying Shi has done need to be completely removed and redone, save yourself the money in the long run and go to a reputable dentist, this is more like a franchise where I can only imagine the patients and employees are simply just a number on the books. This is so disappointing as I have already spent approx 5k at shine just for them to damage my teeth even more than they originally were, after suffering a medical illness for a year, which I explained gave me anxiety. Now I need to put more time and alot more money into my teeth, to fix their lack of expertise.

Negative experience: Doctor Van Trinh was rude. She said one tooth's root was dying and prescribed antibiotics for a week. The problem was not caused by dental issues at all. She told me she needed to drill a hole next to the root to do root treatment. I saw another two dentists who checked X-ray, and told me there was no root dying. One dentist talked with Trinh, then she said my tooth was fine. She put a very thick and big filling on my tooth, when the filling cut my gum, causing inflammation, she said it was my cleaning issue and the only way is to cut gum. (All other dentists I saw said my oral health was very good.) She yelled at me, injected numb roughly, and cut three gums instead of two that she told me,one gum was cut a lot. Now the teeth are sensitive all the time. Her staff cut 2/3 of my tooth to fill a tiny decay which I doubted if it existed and was necessary . She never told me the filling cracked and needed redoing until I saw my new dentist who showed me the photo. Be careful. They are cheating, providing butcher service. The postive reviews are false.

Negative experience: I was in pain last tuesday and called Shine dentist for appointment. The receptionist gave me an appointment for friday 2.20pm.Couldnot sleep for three nights because of pain. Eventually I saw the dentist Dr Van Trihn My whole jaw was severely aching She took 6 X-rays ,then nummed my bottom jaw and decided that one of the tooth needs treatment. She did not take the tooth out because she did not had the time to do it. The next available appointment for extraction was 5 september and so she said you need to get it filled otherwise it will be too painful. She did the treatment on the tooth which she diagnosed was infected. After I came back home I called the docter to tell that I was still in pain. She said take the antiboitics and call on Saturday if required. Called on Saturday, the receptionist said keep taking the medicine ,they take 2-3 days to heel. Saturday night took a brufen,penedene forte,the pain was awful and went to see an emergency dentist in city. he took the x-ray again and said it is not the tooth which is filled, it is the one next to it. I told the whole story to Shine dentist this morning and the doctor now has time to extract the actual tooth for me at 11.45am

Fantastic experience: I had my 8 fillings done by Dr Liao. He is super professional and always gives out oral care advices. It is a 10/10 experience and would highly recommend Dr Liao if you are looking for the pleasant and painless dental care.

Negative experience: Be careful In August 2020 I went to Shine Dentists Gungahlin for a clean and check-up. The dentist recommended, and quoted for, two fillings I was doubtful so I got not one but two second opinions from two other dentists, who I trust After X-rays to check, both the other dentists expressed the opinion that the fillings were not necessary Shine Dentists were going to put me to the pain and expense of fillings which were not necessary Be careful

Fantastic experience: Dr. George Liao has an excellent attention to detail and care for his patients. I have visited him at Shine dentist Gungahlin for the past 2 years and he is gentle and meticulous in his work. I got my front tooth recently internally bleached as it was de-colored and the results were great! I highly recommend Shine dentist Gungahlin and Dr. George Liao.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Shine dentist since 2011. Most of the dentist I've been to are really good and competent. Recently my dentist was Dr George Liao and he was excellent. He was very professional and straight to the point which I liked. Most staff I encountered here are very friendly too. So all in all 5/5.

Negative experience: Very Rude receptionist.

Negative experience: I had a temporary bridge become uncemented while being stuck in Australia from my vacation due to the pandemic . The dentist did not do a good job as it still felt loose when I was leaving and I expressed my concerns which fell on deaf ears. To add insult to injury she spilled glue on a brand new custom shirt I had just gotten in Bali. She let it dry up on my shirt and proceeded to pick it off with a steep pointed object which ruined my shirt. She did t even apologize she told me it was ok... I told her it was not ok that the shirt was brand new and a souvenir. Then I get ready to pay the bill and she want over $309 for remembering a temporary bridge but, then they said it was being discounted but, was still over a hundred dollars almost two. The bridge was back off 2 days later. I told her the dentist who originally put it on cured it with the light but, she refused so basically I just wasted my money and still have the same problem. Poor service, poor attitude, and she did not care about my teeth! I went a second time and requested a different dentist, I had an ear problem and wanted to know if it was being caused by my teeth because I had previously been told that my implant was exposed by two different dentist one in US and one in China. This dentist said it wasn’t exposed and everything is fine. They stood on the other side of the room even though I was not sick. This place is terrible! I would not want to take my dog there for dental work to be done! They are the worst in the world!

Fantastic experience: Excellent! Even on price. I've been twice to this clinic both were for fillings. My front tooth had a root canal done over ten years ago and had broken off completely. Dr Vivienne Nguyen is brilliant, professional and honest with my consultation. Gave me a new tooth (filling) whilst giving me a referral to get better care for the work I need done. Fantastic experience: Dr Vivienne Nguyen is the single most helpful dentist I have ever come across. The procedure went very smoothly, she made sure I was comfortable and not in pain throughout, she took the time to explain the reason for my pain and also made sure I was being covered correctly by my insurance.

Negative experience: The receptionist was not able to advise an approximate cost for a general cleaning service while I asked before seeing the dentist. It turns out they charge quite expensively like double the cost of the same kind service offered at other places.

Fantastic experience: The best dental care I've experienced. Dr Shin was excellent! I've already booked my next check up in 6 months. All covered by health funds and no gap to pay! Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I have a dreadful experience at the hands of Shine Dentists- avoid at all, cost, their incompetent has cost me $8000.00 on implant treatement because they failed in their duty - totally shocking, when confronted and questioned the dentist could only say she was sorry!

Fantastic experience: The counter staff went out of their way to fit me in after breaking a tooth. The treatment I received by both the dentist, George, & his assistant, Sharmila, was second to none. The practice is spotless & modern with the latest technology used. The high standard of service has always been maintained since the day they opened. I can't recommend this practice highly enough.

Negative experience: Took my step son here, the Dentist wasn't kid friendly. He has become more anxious of seeing the Dentist in future. They did a rushed very poor job and the charge for filling price was very high. Their pay no gap advertisement is totally false & misleading as well. Will definitely not go back here again as I found it very unethical in the perception they portray in their ads which is very unfair leading to believe that we would be getting a great deal.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Clare Tam here and she was lovely! Very gentle and kind and great at communicating. I found the assistant and admin staff kind and helpful also. They have no/low gap billing agreements with some health insurers, so I actually had no out of pocket cost when it came time for the bill. They also have a machine that’s able to process health fund claims instantly, so I didn’t have to pay upfront and then submit my claim. Definitely a happy customer!

Fantastic experience: I've been going there for a few years now. For the whole family. They have been very accomodating to my small child that misbehaves. Wonderful to deal with. I like how they notify you on impending appointments so that you don't forget.

Negative experience: This place is good for nothing. I'm with Bupa so usually go there, but the staff is inexperienced and untrained. During my six monthly check up and clean, my teeth were not cleaned properly. I was asked to go see a specialist for my gum disease without any x-ray / scan. I would avoid it at any cost, better spend some out of pocket and get a better treatment next time.

Negative experience: I choose this dentist after ready positive reviews, following my appointment I feel these reviews may be fake as this was my worst dental experiences to date! Would advise people to stay well clear of this butcher! I am anxious attending dentists in general. I made reception well aware of this at the time of booked an extraction and was advised this would be ok as staff are so understanding and gentle. Consultation began well with an acceptable explanation of the process. No further explanation was really given after my first injection. I requested 'happy gas', given my anxiety. I highlighted at one point that the gas working, but the effects was not lasting. The continually asked me to move up the bed as I was to low for the gas to reach me. After around 30 mins they realised they didn't have the mask on me properly with the dentist saying to her assistant 'next time you need to put it on the other way', directing her assistance to hold the mask very firmly on my face. They managed to remove half of my tooth, I was then told they didn't have time to remove the rest as I had already made them late for their next appointments. Acknowledging that I would be in pain they asked me to leave and they would place a referral to a surgeon because I 'couldn't handle it'. I pointed out that I could have handled it if they had known how to use the gas properly!! I was left with an exposed nerve and I was given no prescription for any pain medication. Please please stay away. I could not emphasis enough how bad this place is!

Fantastic experience: Dr Shin was great and for someone who does not like dentists she made me feel at ease. She is gentle and kind in her approach and explained what she was doing as she went. I needed urgent filling replacement and she did it then and there without the feeling that you were squeezed in as I only called that morning. Thank you
