Fantastic experience: Absolutely excellent, experienced, competent, professional and lovely surgeon dentist, he operated on my wife L.D, removed her 4 wisdom teeth that was so close to her nerves, it was extremely difficult and complicated surgery but he managed to pull it off easily and her nerves were safe, he did an amazing job. Negative experience: This is written on behalf of David Ihaka, who was a patient of Dr van Mourik "Dr Kristian van Mourik Dr Kristian van Mourik performed treatment of a tooth abscess and a tooth extraction on 28-08-2024. He was well aware of the severity of my infection, which I had explained to him in my prior consultation with him. I was referred to him by Dr Kent Xiong of the Family Dental Centre, Eastwood. The Family Dental Centre has since taken down their website for lodging reviews. It seemed to go well on the day. I had a tooth extracted and abscess treated. I received stitches in my gum. After the surgery I was not prescribed any medicines, eg antibiotics. Within 12 hours I was struck by extremely painful headaches, super-high-pitched ringing in my ears, extremely tight neck muscles at the back of my head, loss of vision/double vision, and a metallic taste in my mouth. I tried to call Dr van Mouriks on his personal emergency number as well as emailing him, but received no reply. I then went to casualty at St Vincents hospital, Darlinghurst, where I told them what had happened. I was admitted to the stroke ward. The neurologists who treated me, John and Owen, injected steroids and botox into my head and above my eyes. I remained in the stroke ward for 1 week, and was given morphine for the pain. I am now extremely sensitive to light, sound and heat. My organs are starting to fail, I'm writing a will and making funeral plans. The 2 dentists(Mourik and Xiong) seem to cover up for each other, have done for a long time "

Fantastic experience: I have never had such attentive and kind service in my life, I was able to call whenever for any issue or questions and was always treated so nicely. I would highly recommend Kristians services and his workers. I would also like to thank Emily for always helping me and making sure I was alright because getting wisdom teeth out can be quite scary and she always provided me with everything I needed. The clinic was clean and tidy. I would really recommend them to anyone and everyone. I'd even go back there again which says a lot because a lot of people want nothing to do with the people that took out four teeth. Anyways yes a really great place to go!

Negative experience: I recently had a disappointing experience at this clinic. I suffer from headaches and jaw pain due to hyperactive muscles, and upon my dentist's recommendation, I scheduled an appointment for treatment with Botox injections. However, the procedure was administered by a nurse rather than a doctor, and the cost was exorbitant compared to other clinics I've visited in the past. The price wasn't disclosed upfront, which was surprising and frustrating, especially since it wasn't listed on their website either. I was charged $350 AUD for a doctor's consultation, $1200 AUD for injections, and around $300 AUD for the medication itself. Other clinics I've been to charged significantly less, ranging from $570 to $670 AUD, inclusive of consultation and injections performed by doctors. Despite assurances that I could receive a free correction if the desired effect didn't occur within two weeks, the clinic later insisted on charging for another session when I requested a correction a month later. While they offered a reduced rate of $500 AUD, it's unclear if this covers the cost of Botox and consultation. Overall, I'm dissatisfied with the lack of results and the money I've wasted. I won't be recommending this clinic to friends.

Fantastic experience: I had to have wisdom tooth surgery to remove all four of my wisdom tooth at one go. This was a procedure that I postponed for the past twenty years due to my fea. Needless to say, my first priority was safety, followed by a quick painless recovery. Dr Van Mourik and his team is superb and delivered me those outcomes. I didnt feel any pain at all ( I followed their instructions diligently) and recovered within 1.5 weeks as predicted. Dr Van Mourik is an excellent dental surgeon and is very gentle during the surgery to ensure that there is less trauma to your mouth. I would recommend him to anyone - he is meticulous, detailed and gentle when required. Thanks doc!

Fantastic experience: I have a complex tooth which my dentist is reluctant to extract, then refer me to see Dr Kristian. Dr Kristian is very informative and friendly during my first visit. He addresses all my concerns and provides several options for the tooth extraction. The surgery went well and the recovery was quick. No pain at all. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience having a tooth extraction done with Dr van Mourik. I had not had this type of surgery for well over 30 years (since my wisdom teeth) and was quite apprehensive, but the surgery was quick and easy, and the post surgery pain and swelling was minimal. Dr van Mourik’s staff were also amazing fitting me in at short notice and getting the hospital bookings done. I cannot thank them enough. Fantastic experience: I feel qualified to comment on both my 83 year old mother (11 teeth extracted) and 22 year old daughter (4 complex wisdom teeth extracted). Kristian and all of his staff have the highest regard for technical skill, quality and care. From the receptionist patiently counting out my Mum's payment in cash as she couldn't do direct deposit, to my daughter calling Kristian on a Sunday while he was at his kids soccer match as she was still having pain after her wisdom teeth extraction, or Nurse Bromley patiently explaining everything beforehand and checking healing after, there is nothing that this entire surgery will not do to make sure that your experience is fear free, calm and with the utmost skill and care. The surgery completed by Kristian was quoted by my Mum's denture specialist 'as the best he has seen as it will promote bone growth needed for her denture to be comfortable' The denture specialist spoke to Kristian beforehand to align what was needed and the procedure between both has been seamless. There is no question that is too much for everyone at this surgery, whether you are caring for someone old or young. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mourik is definitely the best oral surgeon! My brother went to another clinic in city at first but the surgeon said he must get at least 2 of his teeth removed to fix his problem. BUT we were too shocked and frightened by his solution and then we found this clinic. Dr Mourik suggested a much better and reliable solution which doesn’t require the removal of any of his tooth. He’s super nice and friendly and trustworthy!

Fantastic experience: Dr Kristian is an expert at what he does. I had a difficult wisdom tooth that needed a specialist because it was close to a nerve, and I was even referred to get surgery done at a hospital. Needless to say, under Kristian's care the tooth was out in less than a minute! Not only this, but the receptionist Ashleigh was super helpful in determining the kind of procedure that I needed, and had knowledge far beyond just administration work. The team at this practice is great at working together, and also welcomed me in a friendly way that made this scary procedure go by smooth and easy. Another thing that really stood out is that the healing time for this extraction was a quarter of the time it was at other dentists. Within just 2 days there was no more pain, and the stitches that were used dissolved and came out on their own.

Fantastic experience: A tooth extraction, which was a bit of an ordeal due to some complications from infection, at Dr van Mourik's practice last week left quite an impression at the genuine compassion of nurse Kate and the lovely receptionist, Ashleigh. Fantastic experience: Was not too excited about getting my wisdom teeth out but got referred to Kristian's practice. The service was second to none, I walked out of there feeling a lot better about the procedure. Fast forward to the operation where all my wisdom teeth were taken out including impacted ones. I woke up with no blood or pain in my mouth and no facial swelling. After 2 days I was eating solid foods and they were my least of my worries. I have had numerous mates that have had terrible experiences with different practices and very long recovery times. Fantastic experience: Our 16 year old son recently had all four wisdom teeth removed, under general anaesthetic, by Dr. van Mourik. From our initial consultation, the wellness-check ‘phone call the day after surgery, to our post-op check a week later, we could not have hoped for a more positive experience, or better outcome. Our son had absolutely no bruising and no swelling; he only required paracetamol for pain relief and only needed that for three days - Dr. van Mourik is obviously an excellent surgeon! He’s also an incredibly caring, personable and reassuring man. We’ve already had friends ask for Kristian’s contact details, and we’ve very happily passed them on with the greatest of confidence and highest of recommendations. We must also extend our warmest thanks to Ashleigh who looked after all the administrative details. Fantastic experience: I had 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr Van Mourik under GA (some were impacted) and the end to end experience far exceeded my expectations: - Initial consultation with Dr Van Mourik was great. He was very kind and friendly, explained my case, the actual surgery procedure, my options, what to expect and potential risks in great detail. He also answered all my questions in a highly confident and professional manner. I walked out feeling much more comfortable about the surgery. - Coordination of hospital admission paperwork, surgery date/time and surgery/anaestheic went by smoothly and communications were timely and centralised. Post op care instructions were very comprehensive. - The extraction itself was done skilfully and went by quickly with no complications. The anaesthetist on the day (Dr Boers) was also very patient with my questions and eased me into the procedure. - Recovery period wasn't too bad with OTC painkillers, there was barely any post-op bleeding and swelling was minimal (I was expecting to be a chipmunk but it barely looked like I had surgery!) I was able to eat soft foods after a few days. - Post op review with RN (Kate) gave me the extra reassurance that recovery was going as expected. Overall would highly highly recommend Dr Van Mourik and his team to anyone!

Fantastic experience: What a great experience. The Dr is caring, very careful to mitigate any pain and anxiety, and most of all has an exceptional bedside manner. He explained every sound, feeling etc as the procedure was going on and made an unpleasant root extraction bearable. The post procedure treatment was carefully explained and backed up with written instructions. His staff, nurse and receptionist, are lovely people, it is a happy place indeed. Additionally there is ample free parking nearby and his surgery is attractive.

He is intuitive, dexterous, professional & precise. I am ancient, & had 4 wisdom teeth removed, one with roots that were all Taylor Swift-level clingon to the bone, & he managed to remove them with minimal pain & downtime. He made clever, thoughtful decisions on the fly to ensure no nerves were damaged & made me feel like I could ask anything (several times) & get an honest & educated reply. I saw Dr Kristian van Mourik for the surgical removal of 3 wisdom teeth and the operation and healing process went extremely well! I had very minimal swelling and little pain to the point where I questioned whether I had actually had the surgery at all!
