We are deeply sorry to hear about your recent experience at our dental clinic, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. Your feedback is important to us, and we genuinely regret that you had such a challenging and painful experience and would like to address your concerns and provide some clarification on the situation.

Firstly, Miscommunication regarding your referral to DHSV occurred as you originally had a voucher to be used from Barwon Health and had to be referred to a public hospital due to the need for an oral surgeon. We understand the frustration it must have caused you due to wait however it is beyond our control and the urgency for treatment can only be determined by the oral surgeon when referred.

We are a private clinic and as acknowledged by yourself Newcomb Dental and Barwon Health both did not refer you straight away to the emergency department due to the diagnosis required. Dr Smi has gone above and beyond on multiple occasions in liaising with Barwon Health and DHSV to refer you to the right department.

Regarding your feedback for Dr Smi, We have discussed the situation with her and mutually agree that she intends to maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions with patients, especially those experiencing pain and distress. If for any reason you feel otherwise, please be aware this is not the case.

Hi Stephanie, We provide quality dental & facial treatments while maintaining patient courtesy at all times and we were on the phone for nearly 12 minutes explaining all your concerns BUT we cannot negotiate treatment costs/ provide consultations over the phone, if that was your concern. We are a health practice and consultation fee is our policy as you are seeing a qualified & experienced health practitioner.
