Bupa Dental North Rocks

Negative experience: The clinic is nice and bright. I had a scale and clean with Dr Hema the first visit and was told a few fillings were needed. I went back for the first filling with another dentist as Dr Hema was away. On that visit she also did a check and said that one of the teeth down for a filling - a replacement of an old amalgam filling which had caused some shallow cracks - would need a crown. I decided to wait and see Dr Hema. I had the filling done and on this visit she now also advised a crown. I will say the filling was quick but painful - I let her know but she said she was almost finished so I winced through it. Her explanation sounded reasonable so I was told to wait for the filling to settle and return for the crown. I can only say the pain I felt in the chair was nothing compared to what followed. The pain and sensitivity increased each week until I went back. Dr Hema said even before looking at it that maybe the filling was too high or maybe I’d need to see an endodontist for root canal. She then tested and said it could be filed down a bit. As this was happening another staff member entered the room and was doing something on the computer. The dentist asked for a type of drill bit and instead of her assistant getting it this staff member with no gloves picked it up by the bit and handed it to her. I was only aware of this because my mother had come with me and saw what happened and asked if that was hygienic. The dentist immediately said “his hands are sanitised”when obviously they were not - using the computer and touching equipment without gloves that would go in someone’s mouth was so unprofessional. The dentist then sighed loudly, the other staff member then sanitised his hands. A new bit was apparently procured and used. She ended up filing it down a bit. There was no apology for the lack of respect and basic hygiene. Dr Hema said she would call in a week to check in. She didn’t. I ended up going to the dental hospital in so much pain - even my saliva was painful on this tooth. After thorough examination by the dentist and X-rays it was decided to remove the filling and when that was done he found the tooth had not been lined prior to the previous filling, there was a small decay under the filling and my tooth and nerve were in good condition on X-ray with no need for a crown after the appropriate filling. It was refilled professionally - and painlessly. Within the week the pain and sensitivity have markedly reduced with the dentist diagnosing a suspected micro leak coupled with an unlined filling having caused over a month of suffering. Needless to say I won’t be returning, and the thought that if there wasn’t pain a tooth with a decay would have had a crown applied - wasting close to $2000 and causing more suffering.

I met Dr Haneet Kour at Bupa north rocks and ... omg she is so fantastic. She performed the tooth extraction and all along the procedure made the environment supwr light and easy for my wife and me. She explained ev we rytjing to my wife in a simple and easy way with a smile. Dr Haneet is a blessing to the world - I wish all Dr had the attitude, demeanour and skills like her. Thank you Dr Haneet. Receptionist is very welcoming, and presents her self to you with open arms and beautiful smile, communicates all that needs to be done and has excellent customer service. I have recommended Bupa Dental North Rocks to family and friends and thisnis where me and my family will be going now.

Fantastic experience: Bupa Dental North Rocks is proving to be a very wise choice in selecting for my dental care. I was a walk in to this surgery and have been treated so professionally by all the staff. From the friendly ladies at the front to the outstanding Dr Nancy Chu. Dr Chu continually shares her extensive knowledge and dental commitments to me as a patient. I’ve quickly become very comfortable with her prognosis and remedies. Most excellent to be in this sort of company

Negative experience: unethical booking attitude. they will make dishonest excuses for your appointment to get cancelled. even 3rd party specialist were puzzled due to extortion of client’s time and bookings. my friends and family have a campaign to never comeback to this clinic. the complaint is now raised to head office

Fantastic experience: Booked an appointment online for cleaning and check-up with Dr Haneet Kour. Since I was a new patient, I got a call asking if I could come in a bit earlier since they would need to spend more time doing the checkup as I was a new patient and were very helpful with providing directions to their clinic. Dr Kour was extremely friendly and patient, doing a very comprehensive check. She gave me detailed explanations of the issues I had and how I could get them rectified, taking me through all the available options. She was very patient in answering all the questions I had and gave me recommendations on immediate changes I could make to improve my oral hygiene. The persons at the front desk were also very friendly!
