Negative experience: I had two wisdom teeth removed here years ago and i am still dealing with the damage that was done to me, something i live with and never had any check ups or support through my ordeal. I was told i had two impacted wisdom teeth and was booked in for their removal. I fasted from the night before and came in early. The anesthesiologist had arrived, late and missing important equipment. I was asked to come back later in the day but was advised i would still not be able to eat. I arrived in the afternoon and wasnt out for 3 hours. I was told some swelling and some numbness would be experience but overall i should be fine. That was the start of the most traumatic dental journey which lasted 3 months and is something i still deal with. I could not eat, sleep, or talk. I had lost sensation to my chin, bottom lip and the right side of my tongue. I developed lock jaw and was struggling to meet my basic needs. I had to send my partner back twice for more pain killers as i was desperate for help. I went back 2 weeks later and was told all these symptoms were normal. I had not slept in two weeks from the pain. I went back again scared and crying about the lack of sensation in my mouth and tongue. This time i was met by the owner and main dentist. As i cried and told him what was happening to me his first respond was to ask if i remember signing a waiver. This was the last time I heard from them. Years later and i have permanent nerve damage that impacts my daily life and functioning. I do note the Dr who operated on me no longer works there.

Fantastic experience: I was incredibly impressed with the overall experience at the Oatley Family Dental and with Dr Grace Hughes. From the moment I booked the appointment to the end of the treatment - it was a smooth and stress-free experience. I liked the reminders about the appointment and also to the calming and relaxing atmosphere that is created in the practice. Dr. Grace Hughes is fantastic. She walked me through every single step of the procedure, checkin in with me throughout and then debriefed and answered all my questions after the procedure. She is clearly passionate and knowledgeable professional. I had an outstanding experience, so I give it five stars. Even though this was my first visit, I felt very confident that my health is in good hands. I highly recommend Oatley Family Dental.

Negative experience: The orthodontist Richard has no respect. He spoke to my mum like she was some peasant from the streets. He left my mum dumbfounded by the way he spoke. You just don’t speak to people the way he did, especially when you work with children & adults everyday. I think he left his respect & mannerisms at his front door today.

Fantastic experience: Maribelle was amazing, she was very attentive making sure that I was always comfortable, I was so relaxed that I actually fell asleep in the chair. Great Job. I highly recommend. Very skilled at her craft.

Fantastic experience: I have started to see Dr Tippett at the Oatley Family Dental Clinic since August last year (2022). This clinic is not a big place but well organised, very clean and gave me the cosy, warm feeling. The staff members are so friendly and helpful. After my first consultation with Dr Tippett, I decided to do the full mouth implants at this clinic because Dr Tippett gave me the feeling of very professional with enough experience, energetic and confident. I also found their equipments are very modern, in patient friendly settings and most of the examinations can be done on site, really convenient for all the patients. From my first dental surgery, Dr Tippett has been worked so hard to organise the multidisciplinary teams for my complex treatment and showed high level of professionalism and generosity for achieving the best results of my implants. I cannot express enough gratitude by any word. I strongly recommend this clinic for any one who needs dental treatment. Fantastic experience: I arrived at Oatley Dental practice in total despair at my dental woes. When I met Dr Hedley, he immediately made me feel comfortable and listened to my fears and concerns. His practical solutions to my problems gave me confidence to start repairing years of neglect. Great communication, knowledge and excellent patient care. Negative experience: The receptionist is unprofessional . Go at your own risk.Booked my appointment 3 weeks in advance, first they changed my appointment time after 1.5 weeks passed by, then they just cancel my appointment with a text (the dokter had a family emergency just 6 days before the appointment date which is 30th of Dec). Doesn't even give me a call or a missed call. The whole place is a joke. *please don't over dramatize your working hours you open until 6 pm anyway*

Negative experience: The whole team are Very unprofessional & treat customers with no respect. Keep cancelling the appointment . Got 3x LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION with the same reason “family emergency” (from 2 different dentist) and give me no options. So they already rescheduling my appointment 3 times. They even said i can just cancel the appointment. I already wait 3 weeks for my appointment then they just simply cancel it. They just want your money!! BE CAREFUL! And don’t waste your time with them. Won’t come back here!!! This place is a TOTAL JOKE.

I had a wisdom tooth extracted last week and the whole team have been so caring and happy to answer any questions and genuinely care for how I’m feeling and recovering. They explain each step really thoroughly especially Dr Hedley who’s been fantastic.

Negative experience: Back in February I have opted for this practice as they are the Choice Provider of my health plan and reviews seemed to be good. I then have booked the whole family in for a check up and clean up as this type of service is gap free twice a year offered on my health plan with a Choice Provider, and this was honoured by this practice on our initial consultations in February. However today (appointment booked in February) when I had the second clean up for the year calendar, I was presented with $112 out of the pocket expense as I was told it is not covered by my health plan when they swiped my health card, and once I questioned and asked explanation in saying that was not correct, I was told by the attendant that the practice would give me a discount reducing the fee to $75 ( what I have paid to avoid arguments in front of the waiting clients) . This was a very uncomfortable, unexpected and disappointing situation, and the attendant refrased that the gap free was only at initial consultation. Anyway, after wasting part of my day off contacting my health plan to acknowledge them the situation, and to understand who is accountable for the amount I have paid out of pocket, the practice then have refunded me the money as it is confirmed the agreement with my health plan and hence why I have opted for this practice. However for my surprise the dentist I was booked with is not listed as a provider, but attend in this practice that are a Choice Provider, and instead charges its customers gap when it should not. In saying that I am not longer opting for this practice, as I had most of my day off fixing something that should have not happened on the first place and worst is, not even an apology for the mistake I have received!

This whole experience was overall professional and my teeth felt great after the teeth clean. I have sensitive teeth and the dentist made sure to accommodate me by incorporating different methods of cleaning at certain parts of my more sensitive teeth which I am grateful for. Am going back again and happy to refer my family and friends to them.

Fantastic experience: After waking up saturday morning my wife was in extreme pain, it was fantastic to not only find a dentist who could see us on such short notice but one who turned out to be not only extemely professional but caring and completely understanding of my wifes situation. Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr Richard at Oatley Family Dental since it opened last year. My 3 children now also see Richard for check ups and they find him gentle and friendly. Myself and my 12 year old son are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment with Richard. We are extremely satisfied with the treatment we receive. The whole process has been well planned and structured with no surprises. The convenience of going to regular appointments close to home is a huge bonus! He makes you feel at ease from the moment you meet him. Even with my horrid tooth ache, and being rather anxious about it, I still walked out smiling and willing to come back for the extraction! The practice is freshly renovated and welcoming. I was able to make an appointment for the same day.

The team was great and my dentist Dr. Daniel did a great job explaining everything that he was doing and listening to what I had to say. He kept me calm during all of my appointments and answered all of my questions. The environment at Oatley family dental felt so homely. After seeing many different dentists I can say that Dr. Daniel and his team are the best I have seen and experienced and I will continue to go there and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: When my dentist of 35 years plus retired it was with some trepidation that late last year I moved into the care of his successor Dr Richard Tippett but I need not have worried. I have found Richard easy to talk to and get on with - he is a good easy going guy. I have been getting quite a bit of major work done by Richard including a number of crowns with a fair bit of work to go - so watch this space as I shall be offering updates on my progress. Speaking personally I feel it is vitally important to have implicit trust in ones dentist and I have found Richard to have all the qualities I need to feel relaxed in his chair - he is regularly making sure you are comfortable and all of the work completed so far has been without any problems so I feel confident that I am in a safe pair of hands with Richard. I am very happy to recommend Richard and his team at Oatley Family Dental - the team bit is often overlooked but he is well supported in this regard and I have every confidence in their professionalism and care. I normally can't tolerate the cleaning but the dentist was so gentle and I am really happy with my smile and the treatment I received! I had a chat with Dr Tippett about my teeth alignment as I had braces before, he talked to me and gave me lots of his knowledge for free! I felt he just wanted to give the best options for me. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: The team at Oatley Family Dental provide a great service. I used to be a patient of the previous owner and was hesitant to return when the clinic changed hands. However after my first experience I was immediately at ease. Dr Tippett is professional, friendly, and very understanding of your concerns. He took the time to explain x-rays and discuss what was going on in my mouth. He is the first dentist to really demonstrate to me the correct brushing and flossing techniques. His renovation of the clinic is top standard and modern. I've returned several times to complete all my treatment and haven't had any pain or discomfort following procedures. And his prices are very fair. I'm really pleased that Dr Tippett has taken over as I feel comfortable and relaxed in his care.
