Fantastic experience: Dr. Noureen is an amazing and highly skilled dentist! Our whole family (5–6 of us) go to her for treatment, and she always does a fantastic job. Absolutely no pain — even during root canals — and she’s so gentle and caring. Honestly, even 100 stars wouldn’t be enough. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I had an appointment in the morning with one of the dentist about my tooth . They said they recommend me going under general anaesthetic to extract the tooth and come back at 2:45 that day … I arrived there at 2:45 and had to wait 2.5 hours until they actually come and got me in .( I was very stressed as I don’t like getting a tooth pulled at the best of times but to have to wait 2.5 hours as well) I asked the receptionist a few times and all she could say was I don’t know and couldn’t even be bothered checking .. Finally got in after 5 pm ( which by the way is their closing time) and they hurried me thru . When I woke up the surgeon had already gone home and the anaesthesia was ready to go home and was out the door but had to come back to talk to me which he seemed annoyed .. the nurses were all packed up and basically pushed us out the door because it was an hour after they closed.. The nurse said that the surgeon would call me the next day to see how I was going , there was NO call or NO after care at all. Very disappointing

Fantastic experience: I booked a same day appointment for a chipped tooth and was able to be seen quickly. Dr Holzschuher was incredibly kind, caring and empathetic and made me feel safe and cared for. I have never had such an amazing experience at a dentist. Her expertise, kindness and compassion for me was honestly a highlight of my holiday in Cairns.

Fantastic experience: This wonderful clinic saved my situation. I am a crew member of a cruise ship. We docked in the city for just half a day during our transition to Brisbane. I was experiencing severe pain near my ear and head, suspecting an issue with my wisdom tooth. The clinic staff were incredibly accommodating, taking me in immediately and being ready to perform an extraction if necessary. Most importantly, they quickly ruled out other potential diagnoses, putting my mind at ease. I am deeply grateful for their help, professionalism, and willingness to assist in a difficult situation.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many dentist and then i meet Dr Micheal Slatcher I needed 4 extraction, 5 fillings and implants to replace extractions. Michael and the team come up with the plan and it was executed perfectly. Cannot fault anything about maven cairns city clinic. Clean, friendly staff, I would honestly recommend them to anyone. Especially for implants.

Fantastic experience: I have been Maven Dental patient since 2008 in Cairns Queensland. Dr.Michael have been my main Dentist since day one and he have been absolutely awesome Dentist until Covid-19. Since that Dr. Mrs Maureen Dhamani have been looking after my teeth and have to say, she is like Michael, very very good. My last experiences was just top10 with her. She is carefully, gently, smooth and explain what does happening. My highest recommendations if looking for very good Dentist

Dr. Dhamani consulted, she was very personable, very informative (as was Karen)making for a very comfortable experience. Fantastic experience: Amazing service! Our 2yo daughter had to have some decaying teeth removed. From the first phone call they listened to our needs and worked hard to fit us in ASAP as she was experiencing an infection. Dr Michael was very kind and understanding, the anaesthetic team was thoughtful and patient in their process. The nurses were empathetic to our needs and kind to us. The reception staff was helpful and understanding. It's a challenging time to get a child through this process, but the experienced and kind team of doctors and nurses at Maven helped to guide us through it! Now our Mabel is happy and healthy, free of infection and can move forward with life. Thank you Maven dental! Marko, Sophie, Lily and the brave little Mabel.

The Dental Hygienist careful and painless (phew!!) with explanations of what is happening. I had a broken tooth on an implant that Michael was able to unscrew the bridge off, have it repaired and replaced that afternoon. What fantastic service and at a reasonable price, especially with my pensioner discount. I cannot recommend this practice enough, they far exceeded my expectations. Five star was not enough.

She made me feel comfortable the whole time and talked me through everything as she was going. I have been going to Maven Dental for roughly 10 years and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Negative experience: Despite whole family going to this dentist for nearly 15 years, they cannot book us in till may 2023, it's now November 2022. That's a joke. Rang another dentist and it's a weeks wait. Someone's doing something wrong in this business for such lengthy wait times.

Fantastic experience: A back tooth broke off at the "gum line", thankfully I was able to get an appointment the next day. Michael Slatcher inspected my tooth and it had to come out, a big job. I had local anaesthetic and after much work the rest of the tooth was removed and I didn't feel a thing. As I have been going to this practice for a number of years, I wanted to have the dentist that I could totally trust to do this procedure for me.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kate Long is amazing. I get a little nervous at the dentist and Kate was wonderful with me. She made me feel at ease and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I recommend seeing her you won't be disappointed.

Negative experience: This was my second time at maven dental after such a fantastic first experience with Kate and Nadine. However I had my 2nd appointment with Dr Liam McElvanna, whilst he maintained a professional attitude he was very cold and unfriendly. I as many other people have a fear of the dentist which I’m sure is what Dr Liam deals with everyday. Whilst the physical procedure was fine I felt that Dr Liam had no people skills and was terrible at comforting patients who are nervous about a procedure. I’m sure Dr Liam is great at his job however he most definitely needs to work on his people skills. I don’t recommend any other clients to see him and would highly recommend Kate and Nadine.

Negative experience: Horrible service!! I would give 0 stars if I could. The dentist wanted to remove all of my wisdom teeth and found 4 cavities on different teeth. He wanted to charge me $3000 for this service. I told him that I am just an international student and that I don't have that kind of money and my insurance won't cover it. I asked if I do have to do all of it or if some teeth can be left alone. He insisted that everything has to get done since they had apparently all cavities and they have to be removed. He just told me I should try to get a deal with my health insurance. So I went to Bali to go to the dentist since I couldn't afford it here in Australia. I tried two different dentists and both of them told me that only one wisdom tooth has to be removed. The other teeth are fine, only have pre cavities and are not even worth doing! This is the second time I came to this aussie dentist in under 1 1/2 years and both times they found so many problems with my teeth. Just a year ago when I came here I had to pay $1000 for my teeth. They just want to make big money from innocent people. They wasted my time and money since I had to book a trip to Bali just to find out that this dentist was lying to me! Never ever again. Please save your money and time and go to an honest dentist that you can trust!

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I found the Maven dental clinic Cairns, at different Cairns dental clinic I was quoted $1600.00 to have a single lower wisdom tooth extracted and I was told that it had to be done under a general anesthetic I decided to get the dental work done at Maven dental clinic Cairns. Maven clinic charged me only $387.00 and the extraction was done under a local Anesthetic. The entire wisdom tooth extraction barely took 5 minutes for the Maven expert dentist to perform it was done so fast I did not even notice the tooth extraction was complete and was 100% completely pain free. This was the best dental experience I ever had! I would highly recommend the Maven dental clinic in Cairns. And I would not hesitate in going back for any additional dental work in the future. They have definitely have won a customer for life!

She also made me feel at ease, listened well and did an excellent job with a lovely gentle touch. I recommend her very highly (and I've experienced a few dentists in my many years!) Fantastic experience: Fantastic Dentist, Michael Slatcher. He is very friendly and excellent at his work. I have been going to him for over 10 years and can't speak highly enough of his Dentistry. I also see Alana the Hygienist there and sheep too is kind and gentle. I have the biggest phobia of dentist but both Michael and Alana put me at ease. I would highly recommend Cairns City Dental you will surely be made at ease from the receptionists especially Kelly who will look after all your bookings etc.

Fantastic experience: I have been a dentist shopper for awhile now. My husband had recommended his dentist Dr Steve England to me for awhile. Reluctantly i made an appointment and asked the receptionist for the kindest and most gentlest dentist they had, the one who can deal with anxious and frightened patients. They said all are good of course but Dr Michael was especially good with scared patients. So i booked my first appointment, hesitantly i was accompanied by his assistant into the room. Dr Michael asked if i had any issues straight away. Yes i replied i hate coming to the dentist. He calmed me down and reassured me that they wouldn't be doing anything today, just an examination and talk about what next. Dr Michael offered many options for pain relief, including local and general anesthetic. Over the top i know but this is why my teeth got in the bad condition they are. But what he suggested for options was just what i needed and wanted to hear. Someone who cared about my fear and anxiety and mental well being. I am proud to say that i have had two more appointments using a combination of medications and treatments, without incident. I feel calm and reasonable to make more appointments as needed and will not let my teeth get into a bad state again.
