Negative experience: Everytime I go for my check up and clean, theres a new dentist. I've been to Camp Hill Dental 3 times now. My first dentist was Dr. Soden, then I had another dentist, and when I went back recently, and again, I was offered a different dentist. I was told that the other dentists no longer worked there. Also, all the reception staff and assistants were new as well!! This is a serious red flag for me. Any business that has change over in staff that often, can't be good. Somthing is off about this clinic.
It is presumptuous and defamatory for Tyson to post comments like this when its apparent he knows nothing about our staff or the quality of our practice. Tyson has only seen two dentists at this practice in a period of 6 years. Unfortunately staff members change employment because their personal circumstances can change, such as having a family or relocating to be with a partner. No business can or should control that. There has been some turnover of staff in the reception and administration area but what Tyson does not seem to understand is that many staff in those roles were or have been casual, with irregular hours. Staff that started on the front desk have, over time, been promoted. The same dental assistants do not work the same days with the same dentists. It is therefore completely wrong for Tyson to assume anything might be “off” about our business based on his limited interactions with us.
Negative experience: The dental clinic felt old and not so clean. My dental treatment was expensive and by a dentist who was obviously inexperienced and new. Communication was poor and I couldn't understand the dentist with her accent. The alternative was Jenny who Ive seen previously and didnt want to see again. Id reccommend any other practice but this one.
We have received this review. Our practice has no record of a Lawrence or any similar name who has met with Dr Jenny, and then any other dentist at our practice, who has not made subsequent appointments. Therefore, this is either a false review, or a sad reflection of our society today, whereby people like “Lawrence” hide behind a keyboard and anonymously write false reviews instead of having the dignity to discuss any concerns, that might be legitimately held, with our Practice Manager so they could be addressed properly.
Therefore to reply to what has been raised by “Lawrence”:
1. Your individual cost for a dental appointment needs to cover the wage of the dentist, as well as the wage of the dental assistant, the reception staff, the Practice Manager; the cost of the equipment (such as X-ray machines, sterilising equipment, digital scanners, onsite parking) and the cost of materials. At Camp Hill Dental we refuse to be substandard or underpay our staff. We invest in equipment and people - the visual appeal of our premises is secondary.
2. We refuse to have short appointments, or cut corners but then give the illusion of proper care. Most dental practices will reserve 30 minutes for a routine dental examination and then skip key assessments (such as routine oral cancer screening). At Camp Hill Dental, we spend at least 40 minutes for each patient appointment. Our practice takes the time to complete the best treatment for our patients, rather than be a cut price, low quality practice;
3. The Australian Dental Association releases a price guide annually and the fee for our services, despite all of our high end equipment and machinery, is on the lower end of the spectrum;
4. All of our dentists have at least 3 years post-graduation experience, and are required to have ongoing training each year. Our dentists also routinely discuss their patient care with each other, where this is over 45 years’ combined experience, to ensure the best possible outcomes;
5. One of our dentists does have a very mild South African accent, but no staff member or other patient, has any trouble understanding her. The comment that she was hard to understand is an extremely offensive thing to say, especially when its not true, and when in today’s society comments like that are generally not acceptable.
If we knew who “Lawrence” was, we would be glad to send his records to any other practice of his choosing because life is too short for our staff to deal with someone who has these outdated views.
Fantastic experience: If you want an exceptional Dental experience Camp Hill Dental is where you need to go. Reception staff Brie and Tayla are friendly, efficient and professional. My dentist Dr. Jenny Perry is extremely skillful, providing professional, personalised advice and treatment options with a great smile and sense of humour. All CHD staff are welcoming,happy and will make your next Dental experience a pleasant one

Negative experience: Since the owner Dr. Kathy left, there has been a lot of staff changes and the clinic isnt what it used to be. The dentists are inexperienced and the assistants are also in training. The business is disorganized and you can feel that as soon as you walk in the door. My previous experience left me scared and worried about what treatment they are giving thier patients. A friend of mine came in to get a clean and they proposed that she had several healthy teeth removed. She sought a different opinion and these teeth have been saved. I wouldnt reccommend this clinic to anyone. Its scary what treatments they are handing out.

Since Dr Kathy Perry unexpectedly retired, we have hired a number of new staff members and new experienced dentists to better service our waitlist and patient needs. As with any new staff, there have been teething problems and we hope that they have now been resolved. Negative experience: Would strongly caution anyone considering this dental clinic. The clinical care is average, but the way the place is run makes the entire experience stressful and unpleasant. The reception staff are inexperienced, disorganized, unhelpful, and at times outright rude —making it clear that patient service is not a priority here. Appointments are poorly managed and I was moved from one dentist to another without clear communication, and was treated like an inconvenience. There’s no sense of professionalism or accountability, which gives the impression that the entire operation is poorly run. When you’re dealing with something as important as your health, you deserve to feel respected and supported, not frustrated before you even get into the chair. This clinic needs a serious overhaul in staff. Until then, there are far better-run practices where patients are actually valued. I reccommend you go to those instead.
We are so sorry that you had an awful experience, Sebastian. Two of our dentists were suddenly, and with very little notice, unable to work today (due to illness). Our reception staff were busy trying to reschedule patients before they left their home for the clinic. We are sorry if the receptionists’ stress was perceived as rudeness - it was not their intention.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Camp Hill Dental for dental services for nearly 25 years. In that time, Dr Kathy Perry has been my dentist. Kathy has now retired and I had to see a new dentist for an emergency appointment. The dentist allotted to me was Diane Nguyen. Diane was wonderful. She explained why my tooth broke what we should do about it and all my options so I could make a informeddecision. I took her expert advice. She was very explicit in her description of what she had to do. I am ever so pleased with the result And have now made my next checkup appointment with Diane. She is now my go to at Camp Hill Dental I cannot recommend her work highly enough

Negative experience: I contacted this dental practice today on a referral from another doctor. Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist (I believe her name was Tina) was disappointing. She responded vaguely and wasn’t very clear when answering my questions. While I was explaining my situation, she abruptly hung up the phone — I clearly heard the handset being placed down. When I called back, she answered in a noticeably arrogant tone and asked if I could hold. I explained that she had just hung up on me, and now she was asking me to hold again, in the same dismissive manner. She claimed the line “cut out,” but it was obvious she had ended the call. She then responded with, “Well, can I call you back then!?” in an irritated and unprofessional tone. This experience left a very negative impression, and I have no intention of returning to this clinic.
We take any feedback seriously as we are always striving for perfection. We have spoken to both of our reception staff who stated that the phone did disconnect. We were unable to return your call as the number was listed as private and you are not a patient of the practice. When you eventually called back, 30mins later, you were rude and you ended the call. We are sorry if you felt this way, but there is not much more that we could have done.
Negative experience: I no longer attend this practice after a front tooth broke three days after a dental descale and polish procedure. This happened on two separate occasions over a year apart No compensation has ever been offered and the only responses have been to insult me and suggest I am seeking "free dental care" as well as threatening legal action. You may be interested to leant that I was not warned of the possibility that ultrasonic decaling of veneers or polishing can result in fractured teeth. I am raising this as a warning to other patients that they weill bear full financial responsibility if such an event should happen.
This is the 4th review written by Peter over the past 2 weeks. We will not be amending our response further with his ever changing reviews.
We will however restate that his multitude of previous reviews are factually incorrect and derogatory. Due to patient confidentiality we are unable to outline the specifics. We can however disclose that this person has proposed in email correspondence that he will remove his defamatory review in exchange for FREE dental treatment. We do not condone any form of threatening or coercive behaviour, especially to obtain free treatment, and hence will not engage with him further.
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Camp Hill Dental for over a year now and I can’t recommend them enough. A severe dental condition that has been causing me significant anguish and stress had me in Dr. Tran’s chair today, and she was amazing. She was caring and attentive and extremely supportive, helping me through it and allaying all my fears. I walked away feeling better than I have in years. Thank you Dr. Tran!

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with a part new set of teeth this morning never experienced before by a very professional caring dentist who had done all the preparation beforehand moulding the impression perfectly ready for me to walk out with the perfect set of teeth being able to smile without the gaps I previously had, the teeth fitted perfectly and I am very happy indeed. Fantastic experience: I have always had a phobia of the dentist since I was young, and every time I’ve walked into a clinic I have always felt judged and treated in a poorly manner. I have been to numerous dentists ( in Queensland, Victoria and two counties in Europe) and I have never met someone as gentle, patient and professional as Dr Rhea. Mel and Lara were literally too good to be true. From the moment I walked into Camp Hill Dental they both made me feel so calm and comfortable. They were patient with my dentist anxiety and took the time to explain everything that was required. I needed two teeth to be removed, which one had been rotting in my mouth for over 6 years! Mel was so amazing at explaining everything, Dr Rhea was so gentle with the whole procedure and Lara was great at reminding me to breathe and kept me calm the whole time. I am forever grateful for Mel, Lara and Dr Rhea. And I can safely say my family and friends are all thankful I have finally taken one step closer to overcoming my fear of the dentist. Thank you Camp Hill Dental! Now if I go travelling or move away, I will have to come back to Brisbane for my regular checkups!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! My 6yr old daughter had an accident which had me concerned enough to look for a dentist that would see her ASAP at 5pm at night! Camp Hill Dental were still open and stayed open past 7pm to see my daughter, and take an X-ray. Both Dr Jennifer Perry and her dental nurse were so incredibly lovely in the way they interacted with my daughter. They were great at explaining everything and were very reassuring. Negative experience: Poor experience with Dr. Yang for my daughter and myself. The first five minutes of my first visit to the clinic was about trying to upsell me on an expensive mouth guard. Must work on commission? I have never walked out on a dental procedure but did on this occasion. Dr. Yang was so rough during my cleaning (scaling). I understand that a little blood is common but jabbing the instruments into my gums was very unnecessary (with a lot of blood). How many times do I have to tell him that I was in pain? The hygienist was lovely though. And then when I went to pay (adding insult to injury for the torture experience), he was most condescending in explaining his version of the truth to me at the reception area. My daughter said he was very rough too. The receptionist was rude and the referral for an ortho had two spelling errors. Will definitely NOT return and would not recommend. Dr. Yang you need further training I would suggest.

Negative experience: $25 charge for PPE, your dentist should be wearing PPE during COVID and in all circumstances, most dentists wear PPE that I have come across.To charge every customer $25 for PPE is profiteering through this situation. Disgraceful billing.
This is a disappointing review because it does not seem that Julian understands the health risks that Covid-19 poses and the extra steps required to make both our patients and staff safe. The previous additional $25 fee was disclosed when all appointments were made and again when confirmed with every patient. It was not a surprise.
As the precautions required for dental practice during this pandemic has evolved, we are now on Level 1 Restrictions. We have subsequently ceased this fee for all patients and are absorbing the additional costs to maintain our higher than required safety standards during this difficult time.
The additional cost previously charged was to cover some of the additional expenses we were incurring. The additional business expenses were to comply with the higher levels of health and safety required to be open whilst restrictions were imposed by our dental board. The extra steps, on top of our usual PPE, included:
- Our dentists and dental assistants wearing N95 masks to reduce the risk of contracting and then unwillingly infect our patients with Covid-19;
- A pre-consultation patient mouthwash to lower any possible viral load that may be unexpectedly expelled by our patients;
- We have blocked off longer appointment times to ensure social distancing is achieved and additional cleaning time between patients to ensure that the dental surgery is thoroughly disinfected for each and every patient;
- We continue to use an additional hospital-grade disinfectant spray to sanitise all touched surfaces.
As frontline workers we take this deadly virus very seriously. We have absorbed most of these extra costs and only passed on a very small portion to our patients. This virus has cost our business, like everyone else, a substantial amount of money. We understand that people are struggling at the moment but we can not, have not and will not take short cuts with the health and well-being of our staff or patients.

Negative experience: Jenny replaces my filling 3 years ago. she was very supportive to fix it till it's really fixed. Went back twice but it was still really sore (the pain I never come across in my life!!!). I couldn't go back there as my trust went away. I went to another dentist afterwards and already heaps better. Now my current dentist says the tooth is cracked and have to have a crown. I doubt and instinctively believe the cause started happening the time Jenny put a new filling. My husband is potentially having a same problem from her treatments at the exact spot on the second back bottom tooth as mine. This coincidence is really really upsetting me.

It’s unfortunate you felt disappointed on this occasion. It is difficult to see and judge hairline fractures at times and can go undetectable so ongoing treatment can be the case but we do believe taking the more conservative approach is vital to the longevity of any tooth. Many common daily activities over a period of time can cause cracks which are clenching, eating popcorn kernels, ice and pork crackling etc. Hope all goes well with you in the future.

Negative experience: I am needing my wisdom teeth out by a surgeon, after attending this practice following an OPG, I was told I would get a referral to a surgeon. The consult finished and I was asked to take a seat until the Dentist did the referral. I waited 20 mins before the receptionist told me I didn't have to wait for one. I contacted the following week asking when I would receive this referral and because the Dentist had not done it on the day of my appointment, I have to wait another full week. I am still waiting for my referral. It is just lucky that I am no longer in pain. I would not recommend.
We are truely sorry for your experience, as we had a new dentist and a new receptionist come on board, being that the staff are still learning the ropes we are sorry for the delays in receiving your referral. Thank you for coming in to talk and rectifying this situation with us and we endeavour to always improve and be aware of these situations as it is very uncommon. Look forward to seeing you again.

Fantastic experience: I am an interstate visitor who had a pressing problem. I turned up to the clinic without phoning, explained my predicament, and with understanding and politeness was slotted into their very busy day. The dentist and reception staff could not have been more helpful.

Fantastic experience: Amazing family dentists. Myself and my son recently starting seeing Dr Kathryn Perry. My 1yr old son had bumped his teeth and they needed checking. Kathryn was really great with him and only charged us a minimal fee and then asked us to return a few weeks later just to check they'd healed. I wasn't charged for this quick second check. What a brilliant service. I go to the dentist every 6 months and no other dentist has picked up on my missing wisdom teeth. Dr Perry did an X-ray and found that they had gone off in the wrong direction which isn't good! I was referred to a good oral surgeon to fix the problem. Myself and my family will be returning for years to come and would recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: A true family dental practice. I came here myself in my 20s and now my 3 girls all come too. We have never had any of the usual fear of going to the dentist - in fact my 7 yr old gets so excited when it's dentist day (the free toothbrush pack helps!). All advice given by the dental team is always very balanced and up to date and their thoughtful care of my family is all I could hope for. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: If you don't love going to the dentist then you're obviously not going to Camp Hill Dental. Such gorgeous attentive staff who make you feel like you're the only patient booked for the day. The practice uses modern technology and techniques conservatively to ensure you get the best possible outcome without feeling like you're funding their next first class family holiday to the Maldives. If you have a dentist phobia or just want someone who won't judge you for being a sook then book your next appointment with Dr Jennifer Perry ... she's just awesome!!!

Fantastic experience: For over 10 hears I have been attending Camp Hill Dental. I Have always been happy with the care and treatment. They will always try and fit you in for anything urgent. I have never felt any unnecessary work has been done or suggested. Dr Kathryn Perry is always very pleasant, and does an excellent job keeping my teeth healthy.

Knowledgeable, Latest Equipment, Skilful, Excellent Communicator & Extremely Pleasant with a Genuine, Warm Smile, she makes the potentially Highly stressful experience of a dental visit, one that is at the Minimum of level of stressful. Fantastic experience: I've been a Camp Hill Dental patient for approximately ten years, my original doctor was Jenny Cunningham who I found to be excellent by way of manner and professionalism. Jenny has since left the clinic and today I was treated by Dr Kathryn Perry, Kathryn is professional, gentle, and explained in detail the questions I'd put to her. I'm no hero sitting in a dentist chair but today there was no need to be.

Fantastic experience: I've neer liked the dentist... and Camp Hill Dental makes me wonder why. Great friendly service, great technology being able to be distracted by the TV's on the roof and also being able to see the photos and X-rays immediately on screen makes it a much easier and pleasant experience. When things go wrong with your teeth, it is often a physically painful process. The best place to be in these times are with professionals that explain the situation and process. Thanks again...

Fantastic experience: I think the staff have changed a lot since some of these reviews were written 3 years ago. I've been visiting Jenny Perry for a couple of years now and she is great. Very thorough and explains what she is doing well. She warned me about the possibility of pain during and after the crown preparation work she did last night. But I was painfree during and after. The dental assistant was also great, skillfully using the suction thingee. We even had a few laughs. Receptionists are always attentive and quick and I like the way they call up the day following an appointment to make sure you are OK and don't need any further advice about pain relief etc. I would recommend Jenny Perry to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Our whole family see Jenny Cunningham. She is fantastic. Easy to talk to, explains everything, very enthusiastic about her work and has no problem if you have questions or concerns. Her work is excellent and she is the best dentist we have ever seen.
Fantastic experience: What a great experience. The dentist was wonderful made me and my children feel very at ease. All the staff here are so nice and friendly. We didn't have to wait long to be seen. Would definitely recommend this dental practice.
Negative experience: Also after many appointments and much cost quoted neogotiated price on veneers and whitening after veneers fitted went to pay invoice and price had doubled!!!! Had to make a payment agreement to pay off !!!! I was SO embarrassed now 2 years on front veneer cracked and needing replacement new dentist shocked at workman ship, so thanks Kathy for a disapointing and expensive exerience!!!! Would not recommend if anything avoid save your wallet and dignity the pain.
Negative experience: After several consultations (and charges) finally got the filling I needed; in the wrong tooth! That filling was flawed and has ended up with me in several dental chairs to rectify the issue. Very poor indeed!
