Negative experience: High price than other clinics in Shepparton

Negative experience: As a long-time patient, I am absolutely appalled by Maude Street Dental Shepparton. I requested my dental records when changing clinics a basic legal right under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). Instead, the CEO, Ishan, flat-out refused to release them, citing a “legal dispute with a former doctor.” This is illegal, a direct breach of Ahpra and Dental Board of Australia standards, and shows blatant disregard for patient rights. Withholding records in this way may expose the clinic to serious legal liability, regulatory penalties, and formal investigation. On top of that, his behaviour was disgraceful. He was aggressive, yelled at me, and left me feeling unsafe. I also witnessed him speaking to his own staff particularly the women at reception in a rude and demeaning way that was completely unprofessional. After years of loyalty, to be treated with such hostility is beyond disheartening. This clinic is not only failing patients, but also actively breaking the law. Complaints will be filed with Ahpra, the Dental Board, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Patients deserve better than this.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending the Maude Street Dental clinic since February this year, having a series of dental treatments. I am very happy to give a positive review for this clinic. The reception staff are welcoming and considerate, the dentist and assistant friendly and professional. I always feel comfortable and know that my well being is important, the dentist explains each step and the process clearly. Many thanks to Dr Matt for his high standard of work and approachability. I will continue to attend this clinic, I am very pleased with every aspect of my experience.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment for an extraction because I was told they were the best. I missed a day of work, and when I arrived for the surgery, they told me they had been calling me (a lie!) to cancel the appointment because the doctor “wasn’t experienced enough for that type of dental extraction.” I lost a day of work, and neither I nor my partner (who also gave them her number) received any calls or even an email to cancel. AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: I have always been absolutely petrified of the dentist, however as soon as I stepped into Maude St Dental and was greeted by the receptionist, my nerves were eased! Dr. Matt was wonderful and great at explaining the process as he was going, which made it a comfortable experience and calmed my nervous. Will definitely be going back :)

Fantastic experience: I was on holiday from Sydney, and unexpectedly chipped a tooth. As I was not due to arrive back home for another 4 days and was experiencing some discomfort, I called Maude St. Dental on very short notice. They were very helpful and could see me within 90 minutes. The dentist who treated me was very professional and immediately relieved my discomfort. The cost was also very reasonable. I thoroughly recommend this dental practice!

Negative experience: bad attitude of the counter staff

Fantastic experience: Attended recently for an emergency extraction; Tanisha was very helpful and understanding trying to find an appointment time that fit in with my work schedule. Dr Sath was able to explain exactly what needed to happen to resolve my issue and perform the procedure deftly, quickly and with no pain! Took the time afterwards to explain follow up visits and general after care. Felt very taken care of.

I called Maude Street Dental and the receptionist was lovely and fitted me in that day. The dentist I saw was Sath, he was so lovely & professional. He temporally fixed my tooth till I could see my dentist in Melbourne. Can not thank them enough!

Negative experience: so many 5star reviews. Must be a good place right. As a newbie to the area i was struck by all the +ve comments below. I scheduled in a new patient appointment in Feb, however i chipped my tooth and needed a sooner appointment. They fitted me in the next day 1040. Cool cool. Took the time off work. and walkd down. They txted saying to stay in car until they are free, Covid i guess. Thank god they had a bench outside. I perched myself on the bench at 1030, being a bit early cos i was new. 1055 came around, i thought i better call and check that I'm checked in. Phone rang out 4x before someone picked up, even though i could see the the lady behind the glass as i was sitting right outside. She apologized said be with me soon. 1115 come by and a young dentist chap finally came out to usher me in. I was directed to a room, and upon entry all the cupboards were open and things everywhere. Obviously not prepared. The dentist seemed really rushed. He just scaled my chipped tooth to reduce the sharpness, and then when i told him it felt like something was stuck, he mentioned i needed a clean (correct). then he he went about scraping my tooth quite violently trying to do something, i felt my tooth was going to crack more so! So summary 1) i know i was an 'emergency' appointment but to be kept outside in the heat for 45 mins , no one checked on me. not acceptable 2) dentist was rushing, i felt an inconvenience. Not a good vibe. 3)billing at end had to be questioned as they were going to charge for xrays that didnt happen. could do better.

It was always very painful to go to the dentist in my country, even if I was going for a check. Dr Sath Sivaananthan, is just amazing! Very sweet and careful. He explained the whole step by step of the procedure, With a lot of patience, Since my English is not good , making me feel calm.
