Negative experience: As a professional who works closely with people every day, I understand the importance of respectful communication, empathy, and bedside manner.. all of which were shockingly absent from my recent dental visit. This was my first appointment at this clinic, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The dentist failed to greet me by name or even make eye contact — I was lying in the chair with my back to him, unsure if he was even speaking to me, as he didn’t address anyone in the room by names, I found this arrogant. When he did, it was to accuse me of lying about my dental habits, saying I “clearly don’t floss,” that my teeth were yellow and needed bleaching, and questioning why I would think my gums were bleeding if I actually did floss. I found his manner demeaning and his tone outright rude. I have healthy, straight teeth, eight fillings from my younger years, and a normal, clean colour. Despite this, I was made to feel as though I was being interrogated or judged, rather than cared for. He didn’t finish the clean, rushed through the appointment, and still charged me the full fee. It was hands down the most uncomfortable and unprofessional dental experience I’ve ever had. His energy was cold, dismissive, and I honestly found his behaviour to be vile. If he’s dealing with personal issues, he should leave them at the door — they are not mine to carry. Interestingly, immediately after, I saw the hygienist — a warm, personable older man with a great sense of humour and genuine care for his patients. He contradicted everything the dentist had said, complimented my teeth, noted how straight and well-kept they were, said the colour was great, and sent me on my way with a smile. His presence alone made it clear how unprofessional the earlier appointment truly was. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone seeking genuine care, professionalism, or basic human decency. It’s just not good enough.

I was lucky to get an appointment the next day, and Dr. Christine did an awesome job checking the tooth and fixing it (I am impressed with the precision of the color matching and shape, too; very well done). Fantastic experience: Very comfortable experience. I am happy with the result and saved $700 on what my go to dentist quoted me for a crown.

Negative experience: Don’t bother with $99 new patient clean as it’s only a front and back clean. Took a total of 10min. The dentist said to come back in 2 weeks and pay $200 more so they could clean in between teeth and under gums. Lil bit scammy as this is not normal practice.

Fantastic experience: Best dental clean I have ever had. Peter was meticulous and used not only the ultrasonic cleaner but also did a very thorough manual clean. I loved that he could show me pictures as well as the x-rays and gave a detailed explanation. Top marks for Peter. I would also like to mention Ebony who assisted Peter she was quick and efficient and checked details for out of pocket expenses for treatment for me. Carol and Ellie on the front desk were also very helpful in answering my questions…. Especially Ellie who I think I asked so many questions I told her I must be a ‘real nuisance’. She had a lovely manner and was very patient. All in all my best experience at the dentist. It is very reassuring to know ‘great service’ can still be found. Keep up the excellent work everyone and the great sense of humour.

Negative experience: Ridiculous, exorbitant, too expensive If your thinking of going here because they are “cheaper “ than other dentists, read on $491 for a single tooth extraction that took 20 minutes from entering the dentist room to being back at reception to pay. I called the practice on the Monday to ask what the cost would be, I was told it would be between $200 and $400. I did not get issued a account at the end of the appointment, and as I didn’t have my hearing aid in, I heard her say $401 ( which still seemed excessive) The dental nurse explained all the after care and said someone would call the following day to check how I was ( This didn’t happen) I went to pick up my medication after the dentist and my card was declined, I went to the bank and they said I had $5 in my account, that’s when I saw the ridiculous charge from the dentist. I called the practice the following day and spoke to the Practice manager, she said she would speak to the owner and see what they could do about this issue I have heard nothing back I actually feel like someone who has been scammed

Fantastic experience: I have been using coastwide for 4 years and it’s the best experience. I am terrified of needles and they always do it so pain free. It’s more like watching TV with your mouth open than getting a procedure done. Very clean, professional, friendly and great value.

A root canal and zoom whitening and filling. Nothing was a problem. Highly recommend . The service is outstanding .

Fantastic experience: Pain free and fun experience with Murray

Negative experience: Needed X-rays to get wisdom teeth removed urgently. They got me in same day. Although told me I need about $1700 worth of dental done on top of getting my wisdoms removed. I got my X-rays back and sent them to my usual dentist to which then referred etc. he also had a look at my X-rays and to see what work they had said needed to be done. NONE of what they had said needed to be done or was anything needing to be done!! My teeth were fine except for the wisdom teeth!

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in years for 2 main reasons, bad experience & affordability. I got to the point I had no option but to see a dentist. I made contact with CoastWide Smiles Dentalcare in Coolum, I wish I had of seen them years ago. From the reception staff, to the hygienist, to the dentists, to the assistants... I am amazed at there service. All the staff are so caring, nice & accommodating. I have been back a few times now to get things fixed & back on track and I receive the same service every single time. I have been pleasantly surprised with the cost, with needing so much work done, they gave me a quote with a plan and scheduled my appointments, it was very manageable. Fantastic experience: You can feel the difference since the moment you walk in. The friendly reception staff greet and welcome you, followed by the dentist and assistants who are also very passionate about what they do. We have had both an adult and child appointment so far, learning much more in one session here than everything we have ever known in the past. Taking the time to be informative and ensure understanding, provide suggestions and even go through step by step dental care with my daughter to support her dental hygiene. It’s hard to put the experience into words, but I would highly recommend and we consider ourselves so lucky to have this as our local dentist.

Fantastic experience: Have been putting off getting my 4 front teeth replaced due to the cost ! The high prices from other dental surgerys was not in my budget .Then enter coastwide smiles with there $999 crowns made me smiling like i haven't in a very long time . And dont get me started on the staff , from the front counter girls ! amazing !! And my surgeries surgeons excellent is an understatement! And i cant forget the breanna and her wide smile and welcoming conversation ☺️. The whole experience was fantastic. 40min travel for me to get there , was worth it . So if anyone is reading this , make the call , go in and see them and smile like your on camera again

Negative experience: Wow. Called up to make a booking last week for my family, was under the impression it was a different date which I wrote down in my diary, got a call saying my appointment was today I apologised as I had written down the following week then when I asked to reschedule because I wasn’t able to make today the receptionist had changed her tune completely and told me I wasn’t able to rebook for another 4 months. Yes my mistake but I didn’t appreciate the jackal and hide from the receptionist.

Fantastic experience: POSSIBLY THE BEST DENTIST IN THE WORLD... I came here from another dentist who had no idea. Within five minutes they diagnosed the problem, 45 pain free minutes later, I walked out with zero pain, and all at a pensioner friendly price. I seriously cannot recommend these guys enough. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE for dentists with experience you can trust, at the right price.

Fantastic experience: My 6 year old son has a high sensitivity to cariës and was initially seen by a specialist who made a very invasive plan which I didn’t feel comfortable with. I ended up seeing doctor Peter who assessed him and made a new plan, taking baby steps of trying to save a milk tooth and going through the treatment bit by bit. Doctor Peter is easy to get along with and my son felt comfortable, as doctor Peter has a little chats with him and makes little jokes which really settled him. My son is a wriggly boy and sensitive to pain but doctor Peter has a lot of patience with him and let him takes breaks when he needs to. My son is now used to the drill if sitting in the chair and doesn’t mind it. I will be taking my other sons also to doctor Peter as he seems to be good thorough and precise at what he is doing. Also the ladies at the reception are very friendly and always trying to get you in as soon as possible. Thanks again for the great service! Tina

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Coastwide Smiles for a while now. I travel from Maroochydore because I get the BEST service, its super affordable and Dr Craig always gives great recommendations. I don't have private health, and he doesn't push me to get all my work done at once, its always "I recommend we do this, but don't leave it too late to do this". I get a friendly text when my teeth are due for a clean and the lovely ladies always take great care of me. I highly recommend going here, no matter where you are located on the Sunshine Coast, they are affordable and have the friendliest team. Also - I now have a perfect smile, thanks to my vaneers :)

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Coast wide smiles for 10 years, they have such beautiful staff who are very caring by getting to know me which enhances the personalised care that they provide. I have moved half an hour away but refuse to change dentists. Peter was very thorough, detailed and had a great sense of humour. Georgie was lovely at the desk, such a pleasure to chat to. :)

Fantastic experience: You just know when you know you've found the right specialist. That's Dr. Murray Ploetz. He's an absolute genius with teeth. Just this week given me a perfect set of bigger, longer, straighter, whiter teeth that suits my face and now my smile sparkles. WOW I was already a show pony. Today I'm ecstatically thrilled Why did I wait till I was 60yo when I always wanted a great smile and clean looking teeth? I don't know but aren't we all very fussy when we only have one chance to get it right. Meeting Dr. Murray was perfect timing then and his team are so comfortable to be with too. The Coastwide sile dentist Columbus Beach have such friendly service and best prices. Some times you just take years to get it right.

Negative experience: Been here 10 times or so. I like the dentist but 8 out of 10 visits have been substandard. Eg, tooth extraction hole was attempted to be stitched closed.. didn't work, he gave up leaving my gum shredded from pulling the stich through trying to tie it.. repeating that twice. Was lovely when the anesthetic wore off. Almost all my fillings on multiple separate occasions not filed down enough and had to be re-filed. Lastly a 10min fill of a chipped tip of my tooth cost $270! Now I've looked around and a minor restoration should cost around $199 with a more major one costing $250. Not happy! I just can't believe they think they are so skilled yet botch almost everything they touch, then they rake us over the coals like some sick sadistic joke. Who do I blame.. myself for think $270 is a lot of money? God for giving us teeth that don't grow back. Anyway all the best to y'all in the search for good quality reasonably priced dentistry.

While most dentists werent even answering their phones, i was able to make an appointment for the next available day and have everything i needed done within an hour. Happy ive found my new regular dentist, and very happy to refer also.

Fantastic experience: Had the need for an urgent, unplanned extraction on a Saturday... Everyone from reception through to the chair was helpful, kind & accommodating. The dentist armed me with info/options, too, so I was confident in my decision. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the extraction & that a related follow-up was at no charge. These folks really seem to have their sh*t together & I will be returning without fear!

Fantastic experience: Dr Sue and Hassan are terrific, and make my 6 monthly visits easy and I'm very comfortable with them. They, and their staff are always very friendly and gentle, and I make the whole experience a pleasant one. I enjoy catching up with them both, and despite a history of 'gagging' with other dentists over the years, Dr Sue and Hassan ensure this doesn't happen by being really gentle and careful and their warm natures and demeanours ensure I remain comfortable, calm and relaxed. Fantastic experience: My elderly mum arrived from South Africa this week, only to loose a filling a few days into her holiday. I called Jayne Reed and was given an appointment immediately. Dr Fiona Lim took my mum in and as she was examining the situation, kept explaining beautifully exactly what was happenning and what her options were. There was no second guessing, Dr Lim took an X-ray and sorted out mums tooth. It looks great. My mum has been having trouble with this tooth for years now and Dr Lim sorted it out in no time.
