Negative experience: I chose this clinic based on positive reviews, so I decided to share my experience for others. I visited Dr. Akshay for a check-up and cleaning, which went well, but was advised to get two fillings due to aging and cracking etc of previous ones. They quickly provided a quote stating Bupa would cover everything with no gap payment. Feeling uncertain that why my previous dentist didn’t pick this up, I sought a third opinion, and another dentist confirmed I didn’t need any fillings. While the clinic may provide good work, my experience left me questioning their recommendations.

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr Ross Hickman today for the first time, not only was he super knowledgeable, he was extremely thorough and is SUPER gentle. Dr Hickman took photos and was able to figure out the cause of my dental sensitivity, was super impressed that he took the time to explain everything, while showing me X-rays and photo evidence of what work I need completed and also changes to my dental routines to keep my teeth in tip top shape! Then was time to meet the dentist Dr Hickman who greeted me with a warm welcome assuring me that I am in good hands. Negative experience: I was quoted a higher price than the standard rate for dental fillings. Bupa had confirmed that there would be no out-of-pocket costs for dental fillings under my policy prior to my visit to this clinic. However, Dr. R G Hickman decided to charge extra for my standard dental fillings. Despite my request for a quote before proceeding, I was informed that I would need to pay a $205 gap fee. I mentioned that dental fillings were supposed to be free at Members First Ultimate clinic like yours and the Bupa brochures on your counter also stated this. However, they insisted on the need for me to pay the gap. Feeling unsure, I called Bupa then and there to confirm the price. Less than 5 minutes into the call, they informed me that the item numbers on the quotation were incorrect and that they would issue a new quote. Upon comparing the two quotations, I noticed that the item numbers were exactly the same, but the price had been reduced on the new quotation. Furthermore, they requested that I make a new appointment since the next patient had arrived and there was no time available for my dental fillings that day. I insisted that I needed to have my dental fillings done as I had taken today off work specifically for this appointment. Eventually, they proceeded with the dental fillings on the same day. I will not be visiting this clinic in the future. I have attached the photo of the two quotations here.

Negative experience: BEWARE !! I (and at least one other I witnessed on the day I attended) were caught out by what I deem deceptive behaviour !! Clearly Dental has changed it's name and policies. While the dental work is as excellent as it has been for the last 30 years or so I've attended - it now charges heavily and tells you about the new policies AFTER the service, when it is too late to reconsider whether you can afford the service. The letters explaining the changes are on the reception counter and are offered AFTER you complain.

Negative experience: I visited Dr Shah for a tooth extraction. She was great, professional, knowledgeable and I was happy with my experience with her. I booked in to visit her again for some jaw issues but she was away on leave. I was then booked with Dr Wilkinson. Dr Wilkinson was extremely rude, unfriendly and abrupt. There was no introduction, he just seemed extremely annoyed to have to see me that day for a consultation. He offered some advice but was not a nice man at all. I would of preferred my money back then to have to see him. Thanks HR Hocking!

Negative experience: Arrive at appointment only to be told the dentist is running 25 minutes late because he did not set alarm. This is after I confirmed by sms the previous day. Ridiculous service. And unprofessional. I would never do that to my clients.

Fantastic experience: I have seen all three dentists currently at the practice; one isn't as chatty as the other two, however I don't find him unfriendly just quieter. Overall, they are very family friendly and my kids actually ask to go to the dentist as they love Dr Hocking and Dr Shah! I haven't had any issues with having to wait and am very happy with the level of care received.

Negative experience: The dentist seemed to be knowledgeable however I found their bedside manner cold and rude. I was sat in the chair for 5 minutes on both occassions without being greeted by the dentist and then was proded. Also the dentist was fairly abrupt and sharp in how he spoke to me. I would not recommend for anyone feeling anxious or new to dental experiences.

Negative experience: Warning, the primary dentist is cold and ill tempered. He brought my 80 year old grandmother to tears through his abrasive attitude and aggressive behaviour. My grandmother now fears the idea of going to a dentist and personally I and my family will avoid this dentist. Should other situations like these occur I highly suggest you report them. As a positive, the dentist surrounds himself with friendly staff.
