Fantastic experience: I’ve always been reluctant to visit the dentist since childhood, but my recent experience at Gentle Dental Hawthorn completely changed that. I went in for a general check-up, clean, and X-rays, and Daniel was incredibly professional and compassionate throughout the process. The receptionist cum assistant, Mal was also amazing — she made me feel comfortable and clearly explained each step of the procedure. I’d highly recommend Gentle Dental Hawthorn to anyone looking for quality dental care from a kind and professional team.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing first experience at gentle dental for my daughter. The staff were so friendly and Caroline was so patient and welcoming. My daughter watched her favourite show during her appointment much to her delight.

Fantastic experience: I’ll be honest — I’m absolutely petrified of going to the dentist. I know I’m not alone in that! But I’ve been coming to Gentle Dental for a couple of years now, and Dr. Anthony Lay has completely changed the way I feel about dental visits. Whether it’s been a routine clean and check-up or, more recently, having my wisdom teeth removed, Dr. Lay has been nothing short of incredible. I’ve now had five teeth removed by him, and every single time has been a smooth, reassuring experience. I was especially nervous about the wisdom teeth, but he made the whole process feel easy. I even got to watch a movie during the procedure — yes, they have TVs above the chair! I’m a bit sore today, as expected, but overall feeling great and in good spirits. I can’t recommend Gentle Dental enough. The entire team is kind, patient, and attentive. If you’re someone who’s anxious about visiting the dentist, this is absolutely the place to go.

Fantastic experience: Today I had a dental appointment with Dr Elias Aronis. When I arrived I was delighted to find out that I had won a spectacular hamper full os soo many goodies. I highly recommend Elias and his team The level of professionalism and care is outstanding. My smile is now wider and brighter. I couldn’t be happier.

I've struggled in the past to find a 'regular' dentist I enjoy coming back to, but can confidentially say I won't be going anywhere else soon! Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Gentle Dental for about 18 months now and I have only good things to say about my experiences there! As someone who has severe dentophobia it’s a challenging prospect visiting the dentist, but the whole team here are unfailingly kind, patient and always striving to make each visit a positive experience. I see dental hygienist Daniel and he is constantly trying to find new ways to put me at ease. Even the reception team are just plain lovely! I highly recommend Gentle Dental if you’re wanting a dentist that you don’t dread visiting.

Fantastic experience: I almost don’t want to post this review because I want to keep Dr. Lisa and her team as my little secret! For the first time in my life (I’m 38), I’ve had a truly human-to-human experience at the dentist. Dr. Lisa sat me down and took the time to genuinely get to know me and understand the reasons for my visit. She eased my nervousness by asking thoughtful questions about how I’d like the appointment to go. She truly put the power back in my hands and listened—something so rare these days. The lovely hygienist was incredibly thorough and even offered numbing, something I’ve never been offered at other dental practices. The entire team was meticulous and took their time. I wasn’t rushed or treated like a number, as I’ve experienced in the past at other dental offices. Instead, I felt like my comfort was their highest priority. I found this place a few years ago when I was living in hawthorn, now I live far away but I still travel here because I know I’ll never find better dentists! I. E deep clean to maintain gum health, to replace unsightly black fillings to natural. I can honestly say, I have felt so well looked after, reassured of little discomfort and in good time management. A fabulous team and brilliant dentist.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr Lisa Brownfoot for orthodontic treatment over the last nine months and my experiences/overall outcome has been fantastic. Her approach to dental treatment is cool, calm and collected which makes dental visits/treatment that little bit easier. Fantastic experience: I'm relatively new to the practice but can confidently say this is a quality dentist that definitely lives up to its name when it comes to being gentle. The reception team is very warm and welcoming and I can attest to Dr Anthony providing excellent care. He explains things in an accessible way which has been helpful for a dental noob like me. Props to whoever had the idea to install a screen to watch Netflix on above the chair - makes for a relaxing experience and makes what is meant to be a lengthy procedure feel not long at all.

Dr Anthony is calm and professional, he explained everything in a meaningful way. He even managed to make me feel safe and comfortable during a root canal! Special shout out to Molly for her time on the phone the day before, she talked me through the procedure in such a kind and supportive way, helping to alleviate anxiety. Lisa and her team are calming, gentle and so professional in their approach, coming from someone who is very anxious at the dentist, I have had to have a fair bit of work done on my tooth. Fantastic experience: I made the switch to Gentle Dental a couple of years ago and haven't regretted it. Lisa and the team are always friendly and helpful and when work is required they set out clearly what is needed and why, and we work out a program that suits me to get things done.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been seeing Dr Lisa and her team for a couple of years now, mainly for checkups, cleaning and minor fissure sealing work. Dr Lisa has always been gentle, professional and always take the time to have a chat and explain everything before the exam begins. She was willing to have my then 2y/o sit on my lap, so he could get used to the dentist's chair. He had his first visit recently, as a 3y/o, where he was able to undergo a full exam due to him being comfortable in the surrounds. I highly recommend Dr Lisa for dental treatments for both adults and kids.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lisa B is great and her job. Always makes me feel Comfortable with any clean or procedure and advised of what’s happening at all times. It helps she is great and the work itself with minimal fuss or pain. Recently had a wisdom tooth out and it was absolutely painless. It was quicker than I expected and the after affect has been quite pain free I’ve been seeing Lisa for at least four years now and it’s always a great experience and as painless as a trip to the dentist has ever been. My whole family see her and wil continue to do so.

Fantastic experience: November and December 2020 have been the months of dentist visit. Due to infection, I had experienced sudden toothache and gum disease. The girls in gentle dental have been extremely helpful. With the lockdown, many patient appointments have been delayed. However they managed to put me on the list to make sure I receive timely treatment. I would highly recommend this practice to the local community!

Fantastic experience: Lisa and the whole Gentle Dental team are wonderful! Lisa has been kind, caring, and impressively thorough at every point. Claire is friendly and kind and a real cherry on top of the excellent care I am receiving. I have been so impressed with every facet of my experience with Gentle Dental. In particular, the team's ethos is very clearly focused on excellent care that is tailored to each patient and supporting them to overcome any obstacle to getting the care needed (there is a section on the new patient forms that expressly asks about any concerns you might have: bad past experiences, pain, financial concerns, etc.). Lisa then keeps that in mind as she plans for and explains your treatment. I can't speak highly enough of Lisa, Claire, and B at Gentle Dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lisa is a very professional and caring dentist and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed in what would otherwise be for a lot of people (myself included) a stressful situation. I chose this dentist clinic on purpose because it caters to anxious patients and I'm glad I did. The option to watch TV during your appointment makes a world of difference because it provides a distraction from what's going on.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my family (including 2 toddlers) have followed Dr Lisa Brownfoot from her previous practice as we simply can't find a more professional, thorough, and friendly dentist. Fantastic experience: Went here fore the first time this week and saw Dr Leonora Langstaff. She was hands down the best dentists i've ever been to! Very thorough and informative with everything before, during and after the treatment. Plus she super fun and happy, obviously enjoys her job which makes you feel very considered. From the front desk even to the theatre this place is definitely worth your time!

Fantastic experience: It is worth travelling out of my way to see Dr Brownfoot. I don’t love dentists in general but she is an excellent practitioner who makes you comfortable. I find her to be very thorough and careful and have recommended her to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to see Dr Lisa for some time, even following her from her previous practice. I receive the same excellent and smiley service everytime I visit and I'm always provided options for my treatments (she keeps well and truly up-to-date with the latest treatments). I can't recommend her and her team strongly enough.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a 6 monthly clean and had a very relaxed experience! I was warmly greeted by the receptionist before meeting with Dr Lisa. She set me up to watch Netflix while I had my clean and xrays done and then spent time discussing some areas to look out for and gave my some precautionary measures to care for my teeth and avoid anymore fillings.

Fantastic experience: Always a great clean. I especially love the t.v screen that’s mounted on the roof above the chair at Gentle Dental. Watching Netflix with noise cancelling headphones is a bonus.

Fantastic experience: Always had a really good experience at Gentle Dental and Dr. Kim McLauchlan is fabulous. All staff are welcoming and friendly and they get the job done quickly- which we can all appreciate! Might sound silly but Dr. McLauchlan gave me great advice about how to properly brush with my electric toothbrush and use it in a more efficient way (at age 28, never too late to learn something new!) and I'm sure it's the reason I've had no issues or extended dental appointments since. Very grateful for someone so proficient at their job and nurturing towards their clients.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Kim and her team after years of dental neglect. They have been fantastic in every way - warm, professional, communicative. I have been provided a full dental plan, which has been fully documented and explained to me. Each visit has been virtually pain-free and all members of the team are a pleasure to deal with. Fantastic experience: I first started coming to Dr Kim over 7 years ago, after long gaps in my dental visits. Dr Kim took great care to not only assess my teeth and come up with a plan to get me back to full dental health, but she also took time to understand my fear of dental visits. Dr Kim put a number of things in place to make me as comfortable as possible all of which were very effective. I cannot reccomend Dr Kim and her team highly enough if you are looking for a caring, sympathetic, and gentle dentist.

Fantastic experience: After moving to the Eastern Suburbs, I was extremely fortunate to be recommended to Dr. Kim McLaughlan and her team. The practice has a calm ambience and all staff made me feel at ease. Dr. McLaughlan is the best dentist I have ever visited !! Extremely professional & "gentle". I have just finished a Root Canal, which can be stressful, but the whole procedure was pain free with a perfect outcome.

Fantastic experience: If attending the Dentist is something you keep putting off, and I did for longer than I should have, I suggest you try Gentle Dental. From the moment I sat in the chair I was given a full appraisal and plan for the necessary corrective work my teeth needed. Dr Kim McLachlan and the staff are excellent. I now ensure our adult children also attend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to the dentist for a while and finally bit the bullet and saw these guys. Lovely staff, sorted my teeth out. Haven't had any problems since and will keep going back for check ups.

Negative experience: First they botched a filling on my partner, leaving her in pain for weeks and needing to go to another, more competent dentist. I arrived for a "gap free" medibank yearly checkup. Had confirmed no gap on the phone, but when I got there they were kind enough to try and charge me a $150 gap. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kim and the team at Gentle Dental made me feel super comfortable and even provided some Netflix and headphones to watch during a normally uncomfortable teeth cleaning. Kim took me through the best ways to care for my teeth to avoid future problems, and I will definitely be returning here for my checkups.

Her passion and desire for her patients to retain their original teeth for life was very apparent throughout my consultation. The professionalism was not only in Dr Kim herself but run across the whole practice including the Dental assistances. Gentle Dental will now be my dentist for life. Negative experience: Summary: Generally professional, very thorough but unfortunately untrustworthy with only their own financial interests at heart. Proceed with caution! Detail: After moving back to Melbourne after living overseas for a few years, I was in need of a local dentist and tried this place out after it read pretty well. The general experience with Dr. Kim was good and she was professional. They are certainly very thorough and recommend to do every piece of work possible to have your teeth at their best (take that as a positive or a negative as you wish). Unfortunately after a week following one of my sessions, I was still having quite some pain in a couple of locations so made the call to get it checked out and was informed on the phone that it may take a couple of weeks for new fillings to settle, but if I came in for a check up, there would be no charge if nothing needed to be done. I decided against this as it was only one week. Two weeks more had passed and I was still in considerable pain so I took the time off work and made an appointment to come in. After spending a few minutes looking around, I was informed that there was nothing wrong and that it should settle at some stage. A quick bite check and around 10 seconds of irrelevant grinding later (in my unprofessional opinion) and I went to leave, however on going to depart I was requested to pay a full appointment fee. On challenging the fee based on the phone conversation, they admitted that because of the grinding that they performed, it would not be a free check up, even though I was not warned of this before the work occurring in the chair. On challenging again, the issue was referred to Dr. Kim and again denied. While the amount of money I was charged was at the end trivial (in comparison to the thousands I had already paid for their work), I just can't accept putting my health in the hands of someone who doesn't have my best interests at heart. Shortly afterwards I informed them that I would never be back and they have done nothing to address my concern. Now, 6 months down the track, the pain is mostly gone however I'm hopeful that a competent dentist will be able to resolve these issues and one other that was not sufficiently addressed at my next visit somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: After a big gap in my dental care I started seeing Kim at Gental Dental to get my teeth back in shape, I was very pleased with Kim's obsessional nature sorting out a couple of major issues and training me on the best practices for the future of my gums and teeth and now my visits are really just maintenance based I've been very happy with all the work that's been done and the friendly nature of the staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to gentle dental for 4-5 years, and have been consistently happy with treatment there. I have some niggling long-term issues with cracks in my teeth, and grinding. My biggest concern with dentistry is always cost and pain. The cost is reasonable I think, but not cheap, though I think my teeth are pretty important, so I am happy to spend some cash here. The best thing i can say is that i feel the long term future of my teeth is in good hands here, and i think that will allow me to still be chewing when im whittling on me deck in the sun at 80...
