Negative experience: I visited Richlands Dental for a check-up and was shocked when the dentist recommended 10 fillings costing over $1000. Suspecting something was amiss, I sought a second opinion, which revealed that only 2 minor fillings were necessary. It seems the dentist at Richlands Dental was trying to scam me for unnecessary work. I advise others to be wary of any work they recommend.

Fantastic experience: Haven't been to this practice in 10 years, it's good to see they still had me on record. The place has upgraded and is quite modern inside. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the reception, I like the idea of a low table rather than a high one, that you have to look over that is found in most practices. Dr Jasmine is professional and will ask about your day before a clean or any other procedures. She always let's you know if you need to move your head slightly or if something may be a little rough or if you may feel some sensitivity. It's really helpful to know what's going to happen next as a patient. I had two fillings put in and I'm really happy with the result, the edges are super smooth and I can bite down without any issues. It was really good to see the Dr and her assistant already fully prepared as I came early to my appointment and we got to start early. Getting anything done with your teeth can be a daunting experience but I'm greatful for the hands that are looking after mine. Thanks to the team, assistant and dentist Van

Fantastic experience: We have been clients of Southside Dental for many years. They have always looked after the whole family, from general cleans, to orthodontal checks as my children grew, and a couple of root canals & crowns for me. They have always explained procedures clearly and always tried to minimise discomfort during the more complicated ones. I love that they are great with children, and that they have later appointments, which is awesome for a busy family! Thoroughly recommend!!

But at southside dental, I've been back regularly for filings and cleans and feel so comfortable!

Fantastic experience: I have just been here as an emergency i called up at 4pm with severe pain when drinking hot or cold drinks biting down the lovely receptionist told me I could go in at 4:10pm today then the lovely dentist did an xray and told me there was an infection in the root of my tooth that's what was causing me pain it had prev had a root canal she explained I could go back and get another one I asked if she could remove it due to the pain I was in I said I want it out she did it there and then numbed the whole area it was an hr of pulling pushing and drilling her assistant kept saying I was doing well and too breath they were both amazing can't thank them all enough I will obviously be in alot of pain the next few days but once healed and I have the funds I'll be going back for a crown thanks so much lovely ladies especially the dr I had I will definitely be recommending you to all family members and friends kind regards Emma valentine ♥

Negative experience: Terrible practice, went in for wisdom tooth issue, 40 seconds and $85 later, told to go for X-ray. Called 2 days later after not getting a call back as told they would call me after reviewing X-rays. A week later still no contact and still issue with wisdom tooth. Communication non existent and very expensive. Money grabbing surgery

Fantastic experience: This is something I've feared doing and procrastinated purely due to costs!... Thanks to firstly- Savana, the absolutely amazing receptionist. Her help and support in exploring different avenue's to assist with payment plans helped me think -This is total possible!!.. For the first time In my life I felt so good knowing I was going to finally sort my teeth out!. Dr V and her fantastic sick kick!.. Were non judgemental.. my teeth were BAD!! I left my first visit, feeling motivated to do something about my teeth, instead of deflated and embarrassed, knowing I couldn't afford treatment...they took care of me during and after the procedure and helped keep me calm. Throughout the procedure (10 teeth pulled and dentures) followed up, of course with phonecall check ups from Savana!.. I am so so so thankful to this dynamic team!. Honestly if it wasn't for them... I would be in the same situation, hindering my health rather then helping it...Sorry it's a long review but honestly!.. these guy's saved my life... I can finally smile again, and feel more confident!.. We are also starting my husband's treatment plan now!... Fantastic experience: Our family have been attending Southside Dental for many years. Two of my boys have required orthodontic work so we are usually there every month or two. Dr Vish does amazing work and is very patient with those of us that can be a bit nervous. The staff are always professional and courteous.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience getting a bunch of fillings done with Dr Truong (Vi). I’ve had terrible experiences with dentists previously (rough and sloppy), but these guys were super, super gentle and mindful of my anxieties. The numbed me up more as they went along to ensure I didn’t feel anything. They also gave me a detailed treatment plan including the removal of wisdom teeth. They also answered all my questions about orthodontics (I really need braces), and explained why it would be necessary to remove my wisdom teeth before looking at braces. They were also really mindful of where my sensitive teeth are during procedures. Can’t recommend more highly!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had some good dental treatments in my time, but this was my best yet. The needle to my bottom jaw was totally pain free. The staff were courteous and professional as you would expect. I didn’t have to wait past my appointment time and the dentist and assistant were very quick, efficient and thorough. Fantastic experience: Dr Vi Truong has done an excellent job of repairing my multiple fillings that were required after an absent from any dental work for over ten years.. Would highly recommend her as a dentist.

Negative experience: This review is under a pseudonym, as I do not want to be contacted by this practice. I went to have a single tooth checked a few months ago, late 2020. I ended up being told my tooth needed root canal treatment, 100% the dentist couldn't be more sure. I was quoted $6,000 and even had a payment plan offered straight away. I also had a couple small cavities needing treatment. The dentist told me to have the small cavities done first and spaced them out by weeks on a treatment plan, and then a couple months later have the root canal treatment. I ended up going through emergency treatment at the dental hospital... my pain in that tooth ended up being sensitivity related but the old filling had started to come unstuck. The dental hospital dentist told me it DOES NOT require a root canal; it only need the filling replaced (which they generously did for me)... this is after taking the exact same x-rays and tests. I was floored by this. I hope it was an innocent mistake on behalf of the female dentist I had at this Richlands practice, but I somehow doubt it. I honestly just a really horrible experience at this Richlands practice. Starting with being told I needed to have photos taken, which was uncomfortable and I didn't believe to be necessary, the dentist then put the images up on her screen and asked me "do you think this is an attractive smile?" Ummmm... well I don't mind my smile at all... wrong answer, apparently I have some "dark spaces" on the side. I would need braces after my root canal and fillings. It was a humiliating experience considering I was there for tooth health and not cosmetics. Oh, I forgot, my front teeth would need caps too! They weren't big enough, they needed to be more like a rabbits it seemed. I was so disappointed by this practice because I searched reviews before deciding to go here. Dental treatment is a real investment, so having a professional dentist try to just bleed your pockets dry with unnecessary treatment, or unwanted and unsolicited cosmetic treatment, was a big shock to me. It is completely unethical if this was done intentionally, which I think you'd be naive to think otherwise. Seems they are less dentist, and more glorified sales people. Eta: During COVID times, and when it was unpredictable in Brisbane, the dentist removed her mask and had me sit in front of her computer, whilst she spoke less than 40cm from my face. I was shocked, to say the least.

Fantastic experience: Southside Dental has made what I thought would be a stressful process of braces and other dental work an absolute breeze. The staff go above and beyond to help you in anyway they can. They are also the most welcoming group of people I have come across in a long time. Dr Vi has been working on my teeth for the last few months and has been really supportive. I suffer with anxiety and a visit to the dentist is not my idea of fun. She is amazing when it comes to this area and always checks in to ensure I am ok. She has done amazing work on my teeth and I will forever be grateful. Dr Vish has also been working along side me with my braces. Both Vish and his assistant Emily are amazing. They are both incredibly friendly and explain everything they are doing/ plan on doing in ways you can understand rather than the normal medical language you normally hear. I really love the fact that Vish checks in with me from time to time to ensure the tightening process and my pain levels are ok. This is the second time I have had braces and this is by far the best service and communication I have ever experienced. If you are looking for an amazing dentist then look on further. I promise you, you will not be disappointed in the service you receive at Southside Dental Group Richlands.

The entire practice was very up-to-date with modern equipment and it has such a pleasant environment. Dr Vishnu really loves what he does. Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with this practice. So unprofessional and inexperienced. Both doctors were not being able to diagnose the pain and sensitivity in my tooth which was due to the infection in the bottom root of my tooth and not just on the top close to the nerve! They kept drilling and filling again and again and the pain never went away. So had to go back again and again and while being charged so much money every time (as the pain was still there) until I decided to go to an actual experienced dentist in another practice and found out that the bottom of my tooth root had infection and not just the top. I don’t recommend this practice to anyone as they just destroy your tooth and keep charging you over and over without fixing it. Also very rude receptionists ! Will never go back ..

Fantastic experience: I have not yet visited Dr Immanuel at Southside Family Dental but have visited him several times at his previous Dental Practice. I always found him to be professional, very gentle and thorough. My teenage daughter will ONLY visit him as she has had so many bad experiences in the past, but agrees to visit Dr Immanuel because "he tells you what he is going to do and checks you are OK". I wish him all the best in this new business venture, and plan to visit him very soon so my daughter can have her annual dental checkup.

Fantastic experience: Went to this dentist a few weeks ago with a toothache and was really happy with the service I received. I was given an appointment that day and they explained the procedure and options really well. The tooth has been pain free since the visit and will defiantly be going back to get the tooth sorted out for good. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I recently had the need to get some dental work done prior to my wedding. Over the course of six weeks and five appointments I saw both Vishnu and Immanuel. They both impressed me with their skill and knowledge, and they went above and beyond to get the results I wanted. They are a fairly young practice, but that's a positive thing because they are not bogged down with old fashioned techniques and ideas. I found both denists extremely helpful and pleasant, and the pricing was definitely reasonable. It was a very painless experience in every way. I highly recommend these guys and their clinic.
