Fantastic experience: Today l had a tooth extraction and l must say l was so impressed with how it went. I didn't even realise the tooth had been extracted until l was told to sit up as it was all done. Given my terrifying experience of dentists back in the 60's and 70's it was a joy. Fantastic experience: Brilliant caring dentist. I was really impressed to see their “comfort menu” you can request a blanket or fidget toy, cup of tea, music etc. anything that might make you feel more comfortable whilst in the chair. Well done Castlemaine Smiles.

Negative experience: Scammed. I went tried this dentist had 2 emergency fillings and an assessment upon which i was advised to have 2 cleans before fillings which never happened. Over 6 months later they call back. I tried to explain the situation and was rudely interrupted and told the conversation would end if i continued asking questions about my alleged fillings. Go elsewhere, the dentist was great, staff not so much. Get your act Together

Positive experience: Warm and welcoming except by reception wasn’t really seen. Would of really loved to see some trauma informed care on the patient form. Some questions about how the patient is with dental care would of gone a long way and some more softness and again trauma informed care by the dentist would of been appreciated. I left feeling like I my care wasn’t very important, felt a bit rushed.

Fantastic experience: Had three fillings done in one sitting and was told two were fairly major due to the difficulty of their location. Not only was the dentist and the nurse professional but they were genuinely caring and concerned for my comfort. There was no discomfort whatsoever and in fact I drifted in and out of a light sleep as they conducted their work. I was relaxed, comfortable and felt secure in the work that was being done. From the chair to front of house, a lovely team to deal with. This team is an example of how a dental clinic should operate.

Negative experience: Traumatised I visited this dentist first on the 11th of July for Wisdom a tooth pain. I advised the practice in advance that I was terrified of the dentist and hadn’t been in over 20 years because of this. The dentist barley addressed the pain I was currently experiencing with my wisdom tooth and I was given a referral to have it looked at by a specialist which was a month away. For the rest of the appointment I had X-rays and my teeth cleaned all of this went smoothly and I was informed of some tooth wear and was told a plan and cost would be drawn up to fix these issue. I made an appointment to have this done on the 19th of July. When I returned on the 19th no plan had been made for my treatment or costs involved and after I was in the chair was told I would only have a few teeth fixed and if I wanted the others done they would need to be done at another specialist………. Something that was never discussed in my 1st consultation. The Dentist started work and immediately I felt pain. I raised my hand when it became too uncomfortable which I had been instructed to do and the dentist injected the right hand side of my mouth again but then continued to work on the left had side!!!!! I started crying not long after this and the dentist acted like it was the first time he had been made aware that I was uncomfortable. His response to this was that he could give me more pain relief but that it may not work and that my teeth are sensitive and I may just have to BEAR IT!!! I continued to bear it with him occasionally stopping to ask if it was ok, I would have thought the tears rolling down my face would be indication enough that I wasn’t ok but I also repeatedly responded to his questions with NO it hurts! Once he had finished his so called work I left the room is tears and visibly shaken. After paying and walking back to my car where I examined my teeth I could feel that they are rough and clearly not finished. I then had to walk back in for more painful work until they felt less rough but still not 100% he then told me I could come back and have them polished better another time!!!!!! Needless to say I will NEVER return to this dentist! After 10days of communication with them no compensation has been made for my experience and shoddy dental work and their only offer is to have me return for more work! I am now beyond terrified and have since canceled my specialist appointment as well for the original reason I went to a dentist in the first place! If you are looking for custom care and excellent gentle dental work AVOID this place at all costs. You should never leave a medical appointment in the state I was in. I have received a email from the dentist stating he was sorry he wasn’t made aware or notice I was in pain till I was visibly upset……. LIE’S…… why did you give me a second injection? It’s because I raised my hand and informed you!!! Why didn’t you give me more relief when I repeatedly answered you with it still hurts, and worst of all telling a client that they might just have to bear it!

Negative experience: Terrible experience. Upselling, fear-mongering, and generally trying to squeeze as much money out of you as they can. Dental is a health service, act that way! Stop trying to rip people off!
