Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at the bupa dental clinic at hornsby with my whole family. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially the receptionist, Pushpa, who was extremely helpful. They’re very kid-friendly and patient, giving plenty of time for the kids during their visit. They also take the time to explain everything in detail, which made my son feel comfortable and happy. He’s already looking forward to his next appointment!

Negative experience: Poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Found a hygienist who is gentle and listens to her patient. I get my teeth cleaned twice a year. My gums are very sensitive and Sareh Firouzjaei (Bupa Hygienist) and her assistant Radhika were quick and thorough. Would definitely recommend both of them.

Negative experience: Absolutely unacceptable. During a simple routine cleaning, the dentist nicked the inside flesh of my daughter’s lower lip, leaving her with painful ulcers. She is now struggling to eat, talk, and even sleep. What should have been a basic check-up has caused her unnecessary pain and distress. The rushed, careless treatment has left us shocked and deeply disappointed. We trusted this clinic because it’s Bupa-approved, but we will never return.

My son has anxiety and a phobia of dentists, but Dr. Ara and the staff were extremely patient and caring. They managed to clean his teeth and create a treatment plan in a calm and supportive way.

I walked in just looking for a quick dental check-up for my daughter, ready to pay full price since I didn’t have dental cover. Pushpa greeted us with such warmth and kindness, then explained how we could get the check-up for free by joining Bupa. She was very honest too — saying we could cancel anytime if we weren’t happy. I signed up on the same hour, thinking I might cancel after the appointment. But when we came back, Pushpa again welcomed us like old friends and recommended the best dentist for our situation. The experience at the clinic was excellent, and I was so impressed that I moved my entire health cover to Bupa within the same week. Pushpa is genuinely caring, incredibly helpful, and goes above and beyond for customers. People like her make all the difference — thank you, Pushpa!

Negative experience: I booked an appointment to have my teeth cleaned 6 months prior and when I arrived for my clean the practice put one of their friends in my time slot. They were going to leave me waiting for 50min to see the next available dentist, absolutely shocking service. I won’t ever use them again!

Negative experience: I went today 18 Jan 2025 morning to get some information for the dental check up . The receptionist lady seems uninterested and rude. I get that people going through stuff but you have to be professional.

Negative experience: Shame on the dentist for charging an examination fee when no exam took place for my child. The receptionist said I'm only following the dentist and it was 2 vs 1. Never coming back. My other child had a 'partial' clean and wanted them to come back another time - DODGY. WARNING: Check your receipts because you're the one paying the private insurance.

May 2022 - Dr Shruti is a beaut dentist, she makes the effort to explain what she is doing & where I can improve with my dental care. Dr Shruti goes to the next level of excellent service - I am in my 60's, Dr Shruti noticed from a dental XRay (a while back), that I had sinus blockage, and provided me with a reference should I wish to get this looked at. Negative experience: terrible cleaning experience, my teeth bleeding after the clean. And it never happened before when I clean in private dental hospital. And it’s so fast, only 5-10 min. Feel like she skipped a lot of my teeth. And when they polishing my teeth, doing it in a rush and the polishing gel spilled on my face‍♂️‍♂️ disappointed won’t come back again

Fantastic experience: If you live in the vicinity of Hornsby and looking for a dentist, I would highly recommend Bupa Dental Hornsby. Practice team from practice manager, front of house to dentists are always welcoming, maybe one or two might seem less approachable but generally OVERALL GREAT customer and patient service. Range of treatments provided at the practice is great! All the dental practitioners ranging from their dental therapists/hygienist to Dentist, comes with lots of experience and are able to advice you of your general dental health condition(s) accordingly. Felt safe in their hands having a few different procedures done over the years from fillings, crowns, mouth guards, basic 6monthly cleans etc. My dentist Dr Shruti is fantastic! She is ever so gentle and caring! And advices us like a family member and that is what I like most about my dentist! Location is easy to get to, abundance of parking in Westfield Hornsby(first 3hours free) and easily accessible by train alighting at Hornsby train station. They are located on the same floor as Target in Westfield and right next to one of the street level entry/exit of the mall.

Negative experience: In my experience, I took my boy to clean teeth couple days ago. just under 5 min spent 270 dollars. I can't belive what happened..... Although, I paid insurence, oh no~ Does it Australia style? or this dental style?

Fantastic experience: Initially walking into the practice I was welcomed warmly by the front desk staff members. The practice was well presented, very clean & tidy. I had a wonderful experience as a patient at Bupa Dental Hornsby. I seen Kim & Dr Ara who both exceeded my expectations & made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be a returning patient of the practice.

Negative experience: In my over 6 years of working in the service industry and my 26 years of life on this planet, I have never witnessed nor received such a disgusting level of service. I was quoted $60 for 4 wisdom teeth to be removed, the receptionist exclaimed, my goodness such good cover you have. I confirmed three times with them as two other receptionist watched this interaction take place and said nothing. I later called to have intravenous sedation added to my wisdom teeth removal. When I attended for this removal, the sedation was not added to my appointment and I elected for local anesthetic. AFTER the teeth were removed they told me it was the case that I was to be covered for $60 off a $1800 bill. THEY WERE OFF BY A MARGIN OF 30 TIMES. Despicable level of service, completely unacceptable, I would literally never ever recommend anyone interact with the receptionists there they are utterly incompetent.

Fantastic experience: Always have a good experience at BUPA Dental in Hornsby. A few of my family members come here and recommended me to and I’m really glad they did. I have had a positive experience with my dental work with Dr Shruti and cleaning with Kim, they are both so friendly and so are the ladies at the reception. Cami was very kind in helping me with suggesting health insurance to make my life easier. It’s always a pleasant experience here because of these ladies instead of what would otherwise be something quite daunting.

DR Saxena has been caring and also provided professional advice which suits our circumstances. She also provides overall care to make sure we are in the best care possible. Fantastic experience: Just recently i had my first check up and clean done at this clinic by Dr. Shruti and Gulbeer. Dr. Shruti is definitely one of the most experienced dentist i have ever met. She did a thorough check and provided me with best treatment plans and Hygienist Gulbeer did an amazing work in cleaning. She was very gentle, focused and kept me informed throughout the process. The clinic environment is homely. Their front desk staff are humble, patient and highly professional, especially Kami & Alla.

Fantastic experience: Cleaning / Checkup - very nice service and didn’t rush. Full checkup and good care. It was one of the most pain free cleanup ever since the staff was not rushing. Dr accomodate cleanup visit to do a checkup. Asked for checks on gaps before proceeding with exams.

Dr Butnejski is extremely professional, thorough and caring and has taken good care of my teeth and those of my family. Fantastic experience: Dr. Shruti Saxena at BUPA dental Hornsby was excellent with our child who rated her as a 5 star dentist! The treatment involved administering anaesthetic through a needle and our child did not feel any pain whatsoever!! This was my first dentist appointment in 6-7 years and I must say; Dr Ara was incredible, so patient, kind and willing to make me comfortable! Negative experience: We just moved to this side so went to Bupa Dental Hornsby at the Westfield to consider using a dentist there. The woman at the reception did not even look up when she said hello. Then to all our questions, she simply said `I don't know'??? She insisted that if we wanted any info, we'd need to make an appointment with the dentist & become a client. She wouldn't even swipe our Bupa card to check our cover related to our question, which all other dentist have happily done. Extremely bad service from this lazy receptionist who was ready to go home & it wasn't even 4pm yet! BUPA, you need to provide better service at your own centres!

Negative experience: Not good people to do dental procedures ...simple cleaning was painful ...the work was not done in full ..we were told another session is required which again had waiting time . All appointments are offered on weekdays and if asking for weekends slots we were told to wait for 3 months !! ... even for cleaning !!! even after going for cleaning covered in bupa insurance ... by the time you come out for some reasons they give you a gap bill ...which was not discussed before or during the procedure ..have lost faith in this center ..

Fantastic experience: The best service I have ever experienced in dental healthcare - Dr Victor Butnejski is so compassionate and professional, 11/10 for service from Lesley at reception, 1000/10 from the treatment I received from the Dentist. If you have a dental issue, I would highly suggest booking ASAP as they are booked out for a long time unless it's an emergency. Worth the wait because the level of service and professionalism is the best.

She asked me if there was anything she could do to make me feel better about my experience at Bupa Dental Hornsby to which I replied that a refund of the $100 that I was charged on top of the quoted price would work for me. Lucy kindly arranged this for me and I received the $100 Back into my account within a timely manner and the issue was resolved. Thanks Lucy. *****ORIGINAL REVIEW***** Discussed the cost of the service with the dentist Victor Butnejski before he began replacing my filling specifically as I didn't have private health coverage. Cost of replacing the filling was about $160. Along the way he noticed some slight decay and let me know he would have to do some extra work and the total cost would come to about $230. Ok, gotta do what you gotta do. When it came time for payment I was hit with a bill for $333. Have had bigger fillings done at private clinics for less. Told the receptionist that the price didn't reflect what I had discussed in advance with the dentist but that didn't make a difference. I feel that Bupa Dental has ripped me off to the tune of about $100. I paid the money because I felt like I had to but in hindsight I should have refused. Lesson learned I suppose.

Fantastic experience: We see Dr. Shruti Saxena at the HORNSBY clinic. Shruti is an excellent dentist with great workmanship and bedside manner. She is awesome with both children and adults in keeping those nerves calm and explains everything clearly and in detail. All the nurses and reception staff I have come across so far have been excellent in making the entire experience go smoothly each time. Everyone has always given us the time needed to treat us properly, unlike some other practices that want you in and out quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Saxena and the practice in HORNSBY.

Negative experience: My first time to use Bupa Dental and I had a very bad experience. I can’t speak of the other dentists but the dentist I had was really unprofessional. I had a filling last month which was a failure, the pain was getting worse and worse, until I couldn’t sleep at all. I didn’t complain at all and went back to see if I needed a root canal. That dentist then told me the filling was good, and he said maybe it is the problem of my another tooth. Then he offered me options to have antibiotics OR have the root canal OR to see a specialist. I couldn’t wait since the pain is crazy and asked for root canal, then he said my nerve is cursive so the root canal is very difficult( I believe this is quite normal since I wouldn’t have a special nerve to make an unique case in this world). How could you trust a dentist after a filling failure and such a conversation. Very lucky I found another clinic that day to solve the problem- they did an examination to confirm the pain is from the tooth that I had filling at Bupa, and did the root canal after that. I never had that examination from this Bupa dentist and I wonder why he doesn’t offer or maybe he doesn’t have adequate skill at all. I wouldn’t go to Bupa again, and will not recommend to anyone, not just wasting money, the painful experience is unforgettable in my life.

Fantastic experience: Always go here for while family. Dr Saxena is the best dentist I’ve ever encountered- and I’ve been to a lot over my lifetime in different countries. She is very thorough and explains everything- works very carefully and puts kids at ease. I fully trust her, so much so that I almost fell asleep during recent complex long appointment to have crown done. They have excellent technology too. I would highly recommend her. All staff were friendly and helpful, including the practice manager, Lucy!

Negative experience: Based on my experience should only venture there for cleaning (not good in my case), would advise against anything else. Beware that any other type of dental procedure can have permanent implications if not done right / by an experienced dentist.
