From that very first appointment, my experience has been outstanding. Dr. Finkelstein and his team have approached every step of my treatment with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. I’ve always felt welcomed and supported, and no question has ever gone unanswered. Each phase of the process—including referrals to two excellent specialists—has been explained thoroughly and thoughtfully. What could have been an overwhelming and unpleasant journey has instead been made manageable and even reassuring, thanks to the exceptional care I’ve received. The results so far have been fantastic. Fantastic experience: I met Michael after my previous Dentist had retired and little did I know just how damaged my teeth had become over the past 10 years of a 30-year relationship with my original dentist. Michael was extremely concerned for the status of my teeth and to me as a layman they were starting to show signs of discomfort and in many cases significant pain, so he did makes sense when we met. Michael inspected and worked out a plan to repair, rebuild and remediate all of my failing teeth, there were a lot, so he looked for the most cost effective but also long-term solutions. After 2 years of visiting Michael and his team of great girls I am now done (for the moment). I can smile without embarrassment and eat without pain thanks to Michael and his team. Michael is almost brutally honest, and he cares a lot about each patient and will always recommend what's best for you although sometimes you would rather not hear his advice. His prices are not expensive, but neither is he cheap, only using the best of materials in his work. Fantastic experience: Traveling in Laos, I accidentally and painfully pinged my Invisalign wire brace out of place and had to extract it with eyebrow tweezers! I contacted Dr Finkelstein's team, made an appointment as soon as I got to Sydney and, though it would normally take much longer to get a new brace made, the team jumped through hoops to help me, fitting a new brace as soon as they possibly could and so that I could stick to my plans to travel to Melbourne. They were absolutely lovely - super friendly and fun but clearly extremely professional. Praise be for Dr Finkelstein and team! Kate (from the UK).

Fantastic experience: Best dentist EVER! Dr Michael Finklestien made veneers to cover scarring on teeth that left discolouration on my top front teeth and made me self conscious to smile. At the time he told me they’ll have a life of around 10 years, more if I look after them. That was in 2000 and they’re still great. Hand made with minor flaws so they look natural and with regular checks he’s helped me maintain them. As someone with problematic teeth, he’s wonderful and a super lovely person too!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have attended Michael's clinic for over 40 years and I feel now is the right time to take this opportunity to share our experience under Michael's dental care over the time. When I first came to Michael's practice, my teeth and gums were in a pretty poor state. Over the years, Michael's attention to the care of my oral hygiene has resulted in my losing no teeth in that time, repairing much of the gum deterioration and maintaining the health of my teeth. Much credit must also be given to Michael's persistent oral education in ensuring that I played an important role also in the ongoing maintenance of my gums and teeth by regular flossing, using a water pickster and regular brushing. I went to see him for Jaw discomfort and TMJ issue, he was thorough and listened to everything while his assistant is typing every word, he checked my neck, jaw, teeth, nose and ears and reviewed all my medical history. They are organised and they know what they are doing starting with sending you a form that has everything that can make an impact on your teeth and jaws health then following up, the Dr. Was cheerful and described what iam going through with ease, referred me to an Osteopath and Dental imaging 2D & 3D to get a whole picture of whats really happening. Negative experience: My wife has tmj and looking at reviews we tried booking an appointment. We were not able to book one because the teller asked us card details to be provided over the call, instead of standard practice of giving us a payment link or account details to make the transfer (for deposit).

Fantastic experience: I am currently having an invisalign treatment done by Dr Finkelstein and chose him because of his professionalism during consultation as he was very thorough in explaining to me what can and cannot be achieved through the process. Since I have started this treatment, I have met with him 5 times, and each time he would make sure that there were no issues with the way my teeth was changing and that it was on track. Importantly, where I expressed concerns he made sure that they were addressed. For example, at the 18th week of my treatment, I noticed there were slight imperfections. He looked at it, booked me in for a scan, and then ordered a new set of invisalign, to ensure I can get the perfect teeth. He is very approachable and always makes me feel at ease when I enter his clinic. I recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, friendly and professional dentist.

Negative experience: Stay away from this surgery. HE DESTROYED MY TEETH. I had braces done by one of his orthodontists when I was around 13, and when Finkelstein found out that said orthodontist was ripping off his surgery, he “took over” all of his patients. He then precedes to rip off my braces before they were ready, in the process removing most of my enamel causing my teeth to appear yellow (as told by my orthodontist I use now which is the only other orthodontist I have ever used in my life). I am now a 21 year old with extremely yellow teeth, unable to smile confidently & I have spent countless thousands trying to repair the damage. The only way to fix is to have veneers, and we all know how much that costs. To make matters worse once I had found out what had happened to my teeth, we asked this surgery for the dental records and they had “mysteriously” disappeared! Taking away any chance of compensation. The final blow was when he sent debt collectors after a 15 year old, threatening with court action to make the final payment over a few hundred dollars!

Michael is just a fabulous dentist, I do feel I am just so fortunate to have met him, he really is a good soul, a generous and kind man, and most importantly for his patients, an excellent dentist. So herewith earlier review and everything is still the same for me. I have been terrified of dentists all my life since a childhood dentist who should have been a butcher. The relief I felt going to Michael was immeasurable. He immediately puts you at ease, is constantly checking that you aren't in any discomfort and gives you solid hope that you are going to be able to come to him for years to come without any fear. Not only is Michael delightful but his lovely receptionist and nurse were also calming, comforting and just plain sweet. Even with the thought of an hour's visit next week hanging over my head like the Sword of Damacles I am confident that I have found my lifetime dentist, YAY. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Over a 2 month period, I had a crown and 5 fillings done by Dr. Finkelstein. There is little doubt that he is Sydney's leading dentist. With uncompromising professional integrity, a genuine care for patient wellbeing, state of the art facilities, and his genial demeanour, I'm grateful to Dr. Finkelstein for keeping me healthy and as free from pain as possible.

Fantastic experience: Michael has been our dentist for 22 years, along with his father before his retirement. Both my daughters had some problems when they were young that without the guidance of a good dental practice, could have led to complications later on. Positive experience: Hi there I like so many, find dental procedures difficult. Unfortunately I am phobic. My heart races, temperature raises, breathing strained and that's all before I get to the chair.... Micheal and staff are great i turned up for an extraction after 4 weeks deliberation and pain... no one acknowledged any thing out of the ordinary (thank you im not a freak!!) people coming and going, when i had finally allowed myself to relax and started reading a magazine they invited me in...for the business. ..a further 5 mins in the chair discussing options the weather etc and I was ready to get on with it but not anxious, relaxed. Great job no discussion of needles or dental procedures, dentist and nurse understand and read their patient. Yep I'm back...reluctantly but confidently. I love the way they say you don't need to be brave it doesn't have to hurt.

Fantastic experience: Dr Finkelstein has been my dentist for over 10 years, in fact closer to 15. I can not recommend him high enough, I have travelled to the other side of the city to see him and will continue to go anywhere his practice is. He is the most genuine kind hearted man who has your best interests in mind when it comes to looking after your dental care. If your looking for a great dentist look no further Dr Finkelstein is your guy :)

Fantastic experience: I don´t usually write reviews; in fact, this must be my first one on Google but Dr Michael deserves one! I'm from Argentina, I have been in this country for four years and because of not having enough money, time and a good health insurance, I simply didn't visit a dentist during the past four years (I know, it's terrible!). So you can imagine all the work that needed to be done. Poor Dr Michael. Since I haven't been to a dentist in such a long time, I sort of got scared and kept on postponing making up all sort of excuses (no time, too far, etc.). I choose his dental practise because of its location. It's really near my workplace across Town Hall station, so I'd go during lunch time and I had no excuse to cancel. I made a booking in a moment of courage, took a deep breath and so I went! I'm so glad I went. It didn't hurt at all and it didn't take too long. It wasn't at all near as expensive as I thought it'd be. Dr Michael is very professional and works fast but at the same he is very considerate and patient. Highly recommended!!!!
