Fantastic experience: Impressive practice. Very thorough exam, X-rays, photos and the most amazing clean! I have very sensitive bottom teeth and although it did hurt a little the dentist really did take the upmost care. Great result. And today, after 60 years, I separated from my Wisdom Teeth permanently. As always, staff at Beacon Cove were very professional, courteous and reassuring. Fantastic experience: My experience with Beacon Cove Dental has been top tier. After seeing an ad on Instagram and seeing how professional and transparent they were, I decided to book a consultation. They are very professional, but also straightforward and thorough in terms of the treatment you will need. Dr Anba is very professional, kind and makes you feel comfortable at every session. Although it can be a reality check when it comes to dental health, you will be in good hands, their work is of high quality. Also, there are payment plans to ensure you can still get the treatment you need. The receptionist there Diane is also very accomodating and they try to work around your life as well. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the team at Beacon Cove Dental. They show genuine care & concern for your oral health. They take the time to tailor a plan that works for you and I felt their communication was open & transparent. Always taking the time to explain procedures & why they should be done (which was something my previous dentist never did). I had several procedures done including crowns, root canal & fillings over a few months. Quality of work is high & never rushed. When you’re in the chair they’re always checking in that you’re comfortable & coping. Love the noise canceling headphones they give you! It meant I was thinking about what music I wanted to listen on my drive over rather than fretting about another visit to the dentist. It was my neighbor that recommended these guys to me & I can see why.

Negative experience: Not good. Unfortunately I got the same dentist each time despite requesting another. I’ll be gracious enough to not identify this dentist but this person gave me a treatment plan whereby I spent $7k in an effort to save my teeth and still they crumbled into nothing. I had the work examined by two other dentists and they stated they could not see what I’d got for the $7k of work. I’m completely out of pocket and feel very taken advantage of and very depressed by my situation as I can no longer afford to rectify my teeth and will have to resort to expensive implants

Fantastic experience: I am one of the lazy ones who neglected their teeth for about 5 years and finally bit the bullet (so to speak) to go see a dentist. A retired dentist friend recommended Beacon Cover Dental as a local option. It turned out to be an excellent choice. As I'm in my 'middle years' my teeth have seen better days and after chipping off 5 years' of neglect, it became apparent what needed to be done. This was explained after xrays, numerous photos, and a full assessment of every tooth and the gum/bone holding it in. I opted for a fairly thorough renovation package with a couple of veneers and crowns - not a cheap choice, but the benefits we well explained and it made sense to even a cynic like me. Every step of the way was well handled by dentist Mikhil and the team whose chair-side manner was comforting (you even get headphones playing your favourite album during the nasty bits) and respectful, and I came away from the experience very pleased with the results. The follow-up phone calls to make sure everything is okay and the willingness to make adjustments to ensure full satisfaction made it a five-star experience. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The 1st time that I walked into the clinic, it felt so good. Comfortable lounge chairs to sit in. More like a salon than the dental clinic All staff were welcoming and friendly and put me at ease. Herbal tea at hand too. The procedures were explained thoroughly and I didn’t feel pressure or rush.to decide what would be best for me Once I had decided on my plan, I was included in all the discussions. The work performed was long and difficult at times, but I was able to have breaks. I could choose calming music for the headphones provided, and I was offered a drink (smoothie ) for a lunchtime treat, and a warm blanket to help keep me comfortable. 1st class treatment throuout I’m very happy with the results, and would recommend highly this dental practice

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a BCD client for close to a decade. I love their professionalism, authentic care, holistic approach and using the latest well tested technology in their clinic. The past few years I had many challenging and stressful times which resulted in me grinding away my teeth. I started to feel quite self conscious about my small teeth & gummy smile, which turned into an insecurity. Because of this I learned to cover my mouth with my hands and smile without showing teeth on photos. I kept putting to fix my teeth off for years, until the health of my front teeth got to a point where it could have been compromised. A big thanks to Dr Fern, I have received a package deal I could not pass on: Perfect Smiles My primary concern was to get my teeth healthy and protected. What I received from the experience was so much more. In a nutshell, I have had in chair teeth whitening, lower composite resin fillings, gum laser surgery, upper porcelain veneers, night guard and hygiene maintenance. My dentists were Dr Fern and Dr Mikhil, both with great knowledge, precise and fast working hands, guiding me along each stages of creating my Perfect Smile. Beside these incredible professionals, the rest of BCD team has been amazing with their support and care during procedures. I’m deeply grateful! I’d like to mention the ease of scheduling the appointments between BCD and the Omega Ceramics, their clear communications and how well they work together. The entire process took all the stresses away from my shoulders. After the Perfect Smile experience, my confidence to smile, laugh and express myself has returned. My teeth are strong, healthy and look naturally beautiful. I love my smile. I highly recommend BCD and Perfect Smile. It’s worth it! There is no dentistry like BCD out there.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I did not have a net positive experience with Beacon Cove Dental. I was looking for a new dentist, as my long-standing dentist recently retired. The positive: the reception and admin staff were lovely, and could not have been more helpful in all of my interactions with them. When an error in what my health fund was charged was picked up, the admin staff offered to go out of their way to address the mistake. The negative: My dentist at Beacon Cove recommended 5 fillings, the cost of which was going to be significant. I questioned whether this was necessary, given I have seen my dentist regularly over the years, and am conscientious in caring for my teeth. I was directed back to images of my teeth, with reference to marks which I don't understand, given I am not trained as a dentist. I unfortunately didn't feel reassured by the explanation, and the rationale was not clear to me. I am certain it was unintentional, but unfortunately the interaction felt condescending and dismissive. I left the appointment feeling ashamed and concerned about the significant cost (quoted to be $1,850 pre-private health, $1,240 gap - private health limit reached). In addition, my health fund was charged (the gap payment was kindly covered by a voucher, for which I am very grateful) for 2 x-rays. These x-rays did not occur as the machine was not warmed up. While the details of personally tailored music are sweet, these did not hit the mark for me, when there was a disconnect with the service itself. Hilariously, it also left me wondering whether the sappy-seeming rom-com that was playing on the screen had been chosen for me (I don't think it had ). I sought a second opinion from a dentist with 25+ years of experience. They too booked me in to see a dental hygienist. However, they said I do not require any fillings. They also provided a clear explanation about what they were seeing with my teeth (referencing marks from years of orthodontics, and teaching me about what other marks from acidity mean). The education made me feel empowered, and I understood more about my dental health. The total cost is quoted to be $352 pre-private health, $140 gap. Whilst I believe the Beacon Cove dentist when he said they "like to take a thorough approach", and I'm sure that suits the needs of some people. For me it did not take into account what is reasonable and necessary. I felt embarrassed pointing out the significant cost. I felt like I was being difficult sharing my surprise at such a different treatment plan compared to my previous dentist. In retrospect, even if this amount of treatment was necessary, it would have been helpful if they could have suggested spacing it out across calendar years - so that my private health limit will renew (I have had other health professionals suggest this routinely). Given there are only a few months left in the year (and the fillings weren't even recommended from my second opinion), I'm sure these appointments could have been spread out. This suggestion would have been kind and appreciated. Overall, a quoted cost difference of $1,240 vs. $140 speaks for itself. Beyond the cost though: I left one appointment feeling embarrassed and ashamed vs. I left the other appointment feeling educated and empowered about my dental health. This is a long review as I also work in healthcare (in hospitals), and I feel that feedback is important for patient-centred care. I also hope that if there is anyone else who leaves their appointment feeling as ashamed and worried as I did, they feel empowered to seek a second opinion. I know in the past the subconscious "health provider as expert" belief has made this difficult for me. I'm grateful to Beacon Cove for being gracious when I called to cancel my follow up appointment, and for helping me to resolve the mistaken charge with my healthcare fund. Update: Thank you Beacon Cove for your reply and apology, I appreciate that. I did not receive any phone calls, messages, or emails from you. You have my details, please try again if you wish.

Fantastic experience: Dr Tony and his assistant, Megan, recently completed an extensive maintenance and restoration plan for me. The plan covered a range of procedures including, whitening, crown and bridge replacement veneers to protect two cracked front teeth plus some fillings and took several visits to complete. All the work was done to an excellent standard and I'm now confident that all the trouble spots identified that may have required emergency treatment in the future have been eliminated which was what I wanted achieved. Dr Tony showed exceptional skills in completing the range of procedures and I recommend him and the rest of the team at Beacon Cove Dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mikhil and the Beacon Cove Team have recently completed some extensive restoration work for me. I had ‘dropped the ball’ in my middle years by considering costs and failing to get some added work done and could see now, that there was going to be ever increasing ramifications from that with aging. After considering Dr Ferns recommendations, I decided it would be wise not to make the same error again. Whilst an expensive and a somewhat intimidating project, I’ve been happily surprised at how well it has all gone - and extremely happy with the end result. I feel confident my teeth are now stronger and my smile is very natural. It was definitely worth the money and Dr Mikhil and the team are wonderful to deal with at all times.

Negative experience: This was once one of the best dentists. From selecting your music to friendly staff. Unfortunately times have changed and some great people seem to have left. Drove almost 1.5 hours to find out my appointment was cancelled. Only voicemail I had was to discuss "something" around my appointment. Used to offer Invisalign, then suddenly no longer possible. Owner never gave me a call to discuss these issues, despite me asking for it.

Fantastic experience: The services at Beacon Cove Dental are superior to that of any dentist I've been to. A dental plan was laid out for me by Dr Lin after a comprehensive examination which included photos and X-Rays. She picked up on decay that had previously been glanced over by other dentists and laid out a plan including costs and time frames to get the work done. The quality of the service is excellent, and the gentle nature of the staff as well as attention to detail, mean that you can have a relaxed experience and trust that everything will go smoothly. The clean from Kritty was excellent. The staff are also very informative and educate you on how best to look after your oral hygiene. They also let you listen to your preferred music while any work is being done. I highly recommend Beacon Cove Dental.

I am super picky about who works with my teeth, and Beacon Cover Dental exceeded my expectations of a dental clinic. I’ve had a lot of dental work done in my days (have had some very rough, unaware people work on my mouth), and this clinic and the staff that work there are next level! I’ve been seeing them for almost 5 years now, and won’t go anywhere else. From the warm welcoming staff as you walk in, to the herbal tea in reception, to the kind and compassionate support staff and dentists, Beacon Cove Dental feels more like a spa experience mixed with dentistry rather than a cold sterile dental practice where you’re just another set of teeth. The entire staff is friendly and interactive, attentive to your needs and concerns, and genuinely caring. I love all the little touches that make it feel like a personal experience, because let’s face it, it is - it’s your mouth!! From the paw paw ointment so that my lips aren’t destroyed afterwards, to the wireless headphones for the longer sessions so I can listen to relaxing music, to reminders to take deep breaths and frequent check ins to make sure I’m doing okay, they really think about the entire experience from start to end. You can tell that they genuinely care. I’ve had everything from your standard hygiene appointments to consultations with their specialist for TMJ and jaw issues, to standard fillings, and most recently, several crowns and a night guard fitting to address grinding issues. The staff have worked with me at every step of the way, both practically and emotionally, to help me understand and feel good about the work that needed to be done. The attention to detail and quality of care are top notch. I’ve been to many dentists who treated me like I didn’t know what I was talking about, like my needs weren’t important, and that if I was experiencing discomfort or pain (during or after the procedure) that I should just “get over it”. The dentists at BCD are always open to my needs (I sometimes experience anxiety at the dentist due to really rough treatments in the past), and you can tell that they have the training and skills to be able to hold their patients in all their humanness, in the many things that can arise when you’re dealing with teeth, self-care, and investing in yourself/your teeth! The communication is clear, I always understood what was going to happen next, and the entire process is really smooth and effortless. And I really appreciate the calls after appointments to check in to see how things are going. It shows they care. I recommend Beacon Cover Dental and the incredible humans that work there to everyone I know. There are plenty of dentists in Melbourne, but there isn’t a clinic like this anywhere else. This place that values ME (the entire human), the relationship we’re building, the care in communication, as well as my healthy happy mouth.

Fantastic experience: I recently had all of my wisdom teeth removed at Beacon Cove Dental and am in the process of getting Invisalign. My experience so far has been fantastic. The staff are all very warm and welcoming and they make the whole dentist experience much more pleasant! It may cost a little more, however I find that their service does excel and I am made to feel very comfortable here, so for me, it’s worth it. They have always been very upfront about their costs from the very beginning. During my wisdom teeth removal, I felt at ease and it turned out to be a very easy procedure (despite all of the horror stories you hear). I didn’t feel a thing and was looked after very well. I would definitely recommended Beacon Cove Dental for anyone looking for high quality service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Negative experience: After being a long time client, I'm writing this sadly as a report of why I no longer choose to use their services.....I was booked in for a clean this morning and paid the non-questioning fee of $285.00 (for 30-minutes of work...but I did get a free gift of toothpaste and toothbrush). During this visit, I also informed them of a tooth that cracked/split right down the center that morning. They were able to assist by booking me in that afternoon at 4:30pm with their specialist, I was grateful of this, and was there for the appointment. During the appointment I was told of how the procedure needed to be done for the extraction and then a special cap to be fitted, at a cost of around $2500. Under the existing circumstances, I agreed. I was then raised in the chair, told that it would be booked again for another day as they didn't have the cap required. I was a bit taken back by this as my tooth is currently split, but agreed that this is the only course of action available. I proceeded to the reception desk and was then asked to pay a fee of $75 for the consultation today...I was then also informed that I had a $100 credit already in the system from my appointment from that morning that I had paid a $100 deposit for. I was confused..."why wasn't this taken off my bill from the morning" I asked...the reply was "I don't know, I wasn't the one that charged you for you service in the morning"....I then asked why I was being charged for a the just had visit when nothing was done...the reply "that's a consultation fee". After discussing my views that I believe it immoral to charge for a service of "consultation" when I was all ok to pay for a service of $2500, but because they didn't have the required materials in stock for a standard procedure I still had to pay for nothing to happen, this ended up in a 10-minute discussion, primarily with the dentist pointing out how they provide a premium service and this is why it is charged....I finally walked out, leaving my $100 credit to them, and will never return to this place or recommend anyone to their services. I really am disappointed by all of this.....3 years of loyalty gone, and I still have a cracked tooth

Fantastic experience: The best dental experience ive had in Melbourne :) after going to them for a few years i can safely say Beacon Cove is what every practise should be like. Lovely staff, great communication, and really confortable in a way i cant even describe. Never going anywhere else !

Positive experience: I had a scale and polish. Both the service and the cleaning were excellent. Staff were friendly. However, it was very expensive at $285! they quoted me in the chair because i have not had a check up with them. I feel like because of this they used a much higher price. Will not come back because the price is too high, many cheaper alternatives around.

Fantastic experience: Beacon Cove dental is by far the best dental practice I've ever been to in my life, hands down. Even though I have a lot of work to do and it's going to be very expensive, Dr Fern laid out exactly how everything is going to go, and made me feel really positive about it the whole time. Her entire team has a very nurturing attitude. I absolutely trust these people with my dental work, probably for the rest of my life. My choppers are about to get an upgrade!
