Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr Lucy's for a few years. I was a very nervous patient she helped me overcome my fear which allowed me to have extensive work done which in turn has saved my teeth. I am still a nervous patient but in the hands of Dr Lucy I am as relaxed as I can be. She explains everything she is doing always checks in to check everything is ok. Fantastic experience: I recently started seeing Dr. Maggie at Joondanna Family Dental and she has been fantastic. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with open arms — the whole team goes above and beyond to make sure you feel cared for. I also brought my 2.5-year-old daughter in for her very first dental visit, and the team were so gentle and reassuring with her. It made the whole experience so positive for both of us. Fantastic experience: Dr. Maggie quite literally saved my tooth! I came to the clinic with a chipped tooth, and it turned out to be more serious than I expected. It took two visits to fix, but she started treatment right away, and I already felt relief after the first appointment. She was incredibly gentle and kind, explaining everything clearly before starting — I felt calm and well cared for. Dr. Maggie also sees my 4-year-old son. I was nervous because he usually doesn’t like doctors, but his first visit went great. She was so gentle, and he even let her do a full check-up! Thank you so much — truly the best experience. Highly recommend this clinic. Everyone — from admin staff to assistants — is super friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: On the 24th April, I made an online enquiry with this dental practice seeking a second opinion after the last appointment with a previous dentist left me in tears. I arrived at Joondanna Family Dental for my appointment this morning overcome with nerves and expecting the worst. The bubbly Denna made me feel immediately at ease. I was soon called in for my appointment with Dr Diffy who was immensely thorough and explained absolutely everything in detail with photos and X-rays and a comprehensive treatment plan moving forward. A scale and polish has never felt so refreshing. Dr Diffy is extremely gentle in her approach, so if visiting the dentist is not your favourite pass time because like me, you have a low pain threshold, then I highly recommend you visit Dr Diffy from Joondanna Family Dental.

Fantastic experience: I attended Joondana Family Dentist on the Anzac Day publich holiday with an urgent wisdom toothache and Dr Lucy explained my options. I decided to have the tooth removed and Dr Lucy and assistant promptly obliged. I felt no pain at any time during the extraction and was able to sleep well after and the next day I felt as normal. I highly recommend Dr Lucy.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist for a long time since i have a fear from my last experience when i was a kid... But decided to do it now because of my toothache. When i went here the staff and Dr. Diffy made me feel super comfortable. The cleaning was quick and painless, and i also had a filler! Fantastic experience: My partner who has come here for a while recommended this clinic to me after I had a bad experience with a previous dentist. I was very nervous but Dr Ck did an amazing job. He was very gentle and even put a special gel on my gums before my clean which made it a very comfortable experience, the least painful clean I have had. The nurse, I think Zara was her name, was also very welcoming and nice. I will be back for future visits with my partner. Thank you to the Joondanna Dental team!

Fantastic experience: I came in for a check up and clean as the new customer promotion and I walked out with no wisdom teeth and a bunch of fillings. Everyone was amazing, so lovely, it's a really nice place too, very clean and professional. One of my wisdom teeth broke and he made sure there was nothing left behind, went to the extra effort, above and beyond. I had very minimal pain, zero swelling, zero bruising, two weeks later and everything's almost healed I only had to take panadol for the first two days. He even filled a painful tooth that my previous dentist said not to worry about! My sister had the same procedure done at a different dentist in Mandurah and was left in agony, can barely speak and is taking codeine for the pain, I told her to travel to this dentist from now on and have already recommended it to family and friends. I was very anxious walking in and left smiling the biggest smile because my teeth are fixed and perfect. And they have very reasonable payment plans, it cost much less than what I thought. The girls at the front desk are so amazing too checking up on me the next day and when I went back for my check up a week later to get the stitches out (which was free) she remembered me and asked about my kids which I thought was so kind. I'm so sorry I didn't ask her name. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this place is. They've given me confidence and taken away my pain. I will only ever come here from now on. Thank you so much!!

Fantastic experience: I seen Dr Richard a couple of days ago for my wisdom removal, I came in so much pain and was so scared. He explained things well and was very gentle and caring for my experience, I walked out in no pain! After numbing wore away I have no pain which was amazing as I heard it's usually painful by my friends. I have recovered well and the staff Donna call me the day after my removal to check on me, I am surprised they care about my experiences so much! I can recommend Joondanna dental to my friends and everyone :D

Fantastic experience: I just got my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Maggie the other day, I was amazed about the skill of the dentist. Being a pharmacist, I have seen a lot of people come in after wisdom teeth removal. After seeing those patients, I know I have been to the right place. After the procedure, I don't have much swelling and no bruises at all. All of my family members asked me where did I remove my teeth cause they are surprised that I didn't look so swollen and bruises. I have been to this dental clinic for couple years and entrust in their skills and services. All of other services that I have done here eg: yearly checkup, teeth whitening, they all met to my expectations and also planing to do my invisalign here in the near future. I have recommended Joondanna Family Dental to all of my family. I also want to say this dental is best place to go for wisdom teeth removal.

Positive experience: I wonder whether is it a norm for a dentist to have a non related dental casual conversation with her dental assistance while treating on the patient. I certainly feel anxious and worry because the focus may be compromised while treating the patient. Also, it does not help at all when the suction probe was placed at the lips by the dental assistance many times resulted my lips were "suck in" by the probe. Not a good experience overall.

Whilst we understand some patients find casual conversation helpful in easing anxiety during treatment, we recognise this approach may not suit everyone. Regarding the incident with the dental assistant, we’re deeply sorry our usual high standard of service wasn’t delivered. We often host students from accredited institutions for placement, whereby they receive hands-on practical experience. We recognise they unfortunately touched your lip with the suction tube, our team has been providing additional and ongoing training/support to the student.

Fantastic experience: Dr Diffy Zhou took on my 4y/o son who got freaked out at another dentist when trying to do some fillings (yes l know lm a bad parent a 4 year old shouldn't need fillings). She's an absolute whizz with children! She just seemed to know what to do and say to get him to calm down and get the job done ✔️. Will be bringing my other kids here for sure now!

Fantastic experience: I needed to have a filling replaced on my front teeth and I was very impressed with the low amount of pain when getting the needle. I know how much they normally hurt in the front and this was by far the most painless I have had there. Fillings replaced perfectly a good job all round by Dr Lucy

Fantastic experience: This is a friendly and professional clinic. The dentist and the assistant were assuring and accommodated the procedure around my fears ie needles. Fantastic experience: Amazing service from front door to chair! A friend recommended Lucy and her team to me and I now recommend the team to everyone. I have required simple scale and clean right through to complex dental implants. They are able to do it all. Fantastic experience: Having moved homes, I needed to find a new dentist. I found this practice from a friend's recommendation. Dr Lucy and her team worked so well together and their friendly chats made me feel comfortable. Their clinic was modern and spotless. I also really appreciated seeing Dr Lucy and the receptionist happily attending to a previous customer with her school-aged daughter in Mandarin, as language barriers could be one's reason to not access regular dental care. Negative experience: No any patience and caring for children. Maybe they were just in a hurry to get off the work. I brought my child to to what were done before in another dental clinic, but Dr Lucy couldn’t do it anymore. Maybe she has no experience with children.

We are sorry we have not fulfilled your expectations on this occasion. Dr Lucy is a very experienced dentist and works well with children, hence your recommendation to come see her by a friend.
Unfortunately, it is common for young children under the age of five to demonstrate limited cooperation with treatment enforced on their first visit upon meeting a new dentist. Our clinic takes pride in practicing safe and quality dentistry which results in positive outcomes. When this could not be achieved, the professional decision was made to cease treatment in order to prevent potential harm.
We understand this may have not been your preferred outcome, and have offered to refer you to commence treatment with a Paediatric dentist which can fulfil your child's needs under a safe operating manner. We do not stand to achieve any gain from making this referral, and have only your child's best interest at heart.
