It can also be difficult to trust a dentists opinion when we experience differing advice from dentist to dentist. Alan is professional, trustworthy and I am very comfortable visiting this surgery. Couldn't advise any more strongly that he will put you at ease. I just finished a root canal under his care and am very happy with the level of care from him and his team.

Fantastic experience: Great Dental practice, aside from 6 monthly checkups and cleanings for not only myself but for my family (also very affordable). I had my wisdom teeth out recently, the top two wisdom teeth were removed quickly, I had no swelling/bruising afterwards and the gums healed in no time. Friendly, professional staff and fantastic dental care.

I have visited him twice, first time was to remove my wisdom teeth years ago, second time was to check up the toothache from my incisors plus a general check up. Both visits were during my lunch break as I didn’t want to use the extra leave. Both works were done efficiently and without any discomfort feeling. Negative experience: Alan Kwong is a horrible dentist!! I got my phobia of dentists because of this man. I had a cavity and he refused to give me any anaesthesia, telling me that it was a small one and ‘won’t hurt’. I ended up begging him to stop within 2 seconds as the pain was intolerable. He then agreed to inject me with the anaesthesia. This was in 2018. My mum had another negative experience a year ago. She went in for a teeth clean and the first thing he said was ‘god damn, when was the last time you washed your teeth?’ She played it off as a joke but this is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. What a horrible, horrible man. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Edit: 1) I cannot remember the exact year, but yes you may be right and that was the first and only time I’ve been there in 2021. 2) You suggested I try without anaesthetics but I’ve told you that I have a low pain tolerance and a fear of dentists. I felt pressured and felt like I had to agree to it. You made me feel uncomfortable. 3) Unsure what you mean by that 4) I’ve never brought my mother to you. She found you herself through Google since your clinic is very close to her house. We got to chatting the other day about a teeth clean and she mentioned the negative experience she had with you, I asked her if it was the clinic in Wellington Village and she said yes. It all started to click for me then and it’s obvious im not the only one with a negative experience. ‘God damn’ ‘Oh my God’, whatever words you used she can’t remember as she is 60+ years old. But you have definitely phrased it in such a rude way. 5) I’m not sure if she came back or not, she just told me about the one visit which brought back flashbacks. Maybe you did do a good job, but you were extremely disrespectful and I can see that there’s someone with a similar experience who’s left a review further down.

Fantastic experience: I have been seen Alan for a few years know after being severely disappointed and let Dow by my previous dentist and ending up with very worn down disintegrating teeth. Alan over time has replace my teeth with 20 crowns, repaired many of my teeth and removed all my wisdom teeth, every single procedure Alan has been gently, calm, provided amazing great work and what we all want out of a dentist - fast!! I know send my whole family there one of whom is intellectually disabled and Alan does an awesome job on his teeth when no other dentis would touch them. I cannot express enough how much I recommend Alan and his very friendly, supportive nurses to anyone looking for a dentist.

I scheduled an urgent appointment due to wisdom teeth pain, Alan was able to schedule me in on short notice and can't fault the care that was provided to me. He was extremely reassuring, checked in regularly I was doing ok with the procedure and I honestly can't believe how quick and pain free the wisdom teeth extraction was! Fantastic experience: Yesterday the 10th of March 2023 I was suffering from a extremely severe toothache accompanied by a very painful headache I phoned Doctor Kwongs rooms and was greeted by the nicest reception who was sooo good and was able to fit me into a busy schedule On arrival I was ushered into the surgery an into the chair within 5 minutes the tooth was removed and the pain of tooth and headache was gone Words alone are insufficient to describe the thanks I feel towards the Doctor and his staff I am 79 years old and been to many Doctors but Doctor Kwong is the best do yourself a favour and talk to him or his staff Thank you very much

Negative experience: I had my tooth removed there 2 years ago. Alan did a great job and chipped away slowly, not removing it all in one go. But the reason for 1 star is 1. He actually yelled at me when I made any noise. I was in pain because of the ridiculous amount of pressure he was putting on my teeth. I was not screaming, just letting out a little noise here and there that even the receptionist wouldn’t have heard. He told me if I need him to stop, I should raise my hand. When I did, he didn’t stop. 2. I thought the procedure was still going when he started using different utensils… but he actually started cleaning my teeth which he did not ask me if I wanted. He then charged me over $100 for a treatment that I did not consent to. 3. I took my elderly father to Alan once, he laughed at him and told him he has very bad oral hygiene, instead of being respectful and giving him tips to improve his oral hygiene, My dad was noticeably embarrassed and this “professional” continues to clean my dads teeth and lecture him in the rudest way - laughing at him, telling him that he won’t do anything for him unless his hygiene changes. In short, Alan is rude and unprofessional. He may know what he’s doing with teeth but does not know how to behave professionally. The reason I decided to leave this comment after so long is because I was in the process of booking a dentist appt with another clinic and remembered how furious I was with Alan.

Fantastic experience: I was told by another dentist I was need an oral surgeon to remove my wisdom tooth as it was close to the nerve. I found dr Alan instead and so glad I did. He got my wisdom tooth out so easily and the recovery has been also been very easy.

Fantastic experience: Being someone who has never visited the dentist ever in over 30 years, you you can imagine the amount of work I would need. Dr Kwong was very courteous, and did all the work in what I thought would be hours in a matter of minutes. Picked a good first dentist, and looks like the only dentist I'm every going to visit. What else could you ask for, it was painless, efficient, friendly staffed, just an absolute joy.

Fantastic experience: I am sure this will be our family's ONE and ONLY dentist. They are amazing, showing genuine care for my kids health and ongoing dental needs as they grow. My kids teeth are far from perfect but this dental practice comes very close! Always going above and beyond ... everything from emergency broken teeth, fillings to fitting our kids sports mouth guards with such a quick turnaround. Keep on smiling :D

Negative experience: If only I could put no stars I would. The experience was a horrific one! The dentist FORBADE me to speak to my son even to reassure him that things were okay. My son was asking me for reassurance that everything would be ok and I was reinforcing the message that the dentist was telling him that it wouldn’t hurt. The dentist kept shushing me saying I could not speak. Then he threatened to STOP HALFWAY THROUGH THE PROCEDURE AFTER ALREADY INJECTING MY SON WITH THE ANAESTHESIA IF I CONTINUED TO SPEAK TO MY SON!!! I’ve been through other more serious medical procedures with my children and no point has any medical professional done what this dentist did today. I have lodged a formal complaint with the Dental Board of Australia on this dentists behaviour. In the response to below: My child was hysterical because he did not believe you and was looking to me to validate. Sure the comment on the needle was a mistake on my part which I owned up to, but aside from that, I was supporting everything you were saying. He was calling for me for help!! Having had to endure many medical Procedures with my kids, I know the importance of presenting a United front and a single message. By you trying to oppress my voice, you were inadvertently implying to my son that everything you were saying must have been total BS because you did not want me to speak up. He calmed down after because he sensed the tension and was scared of the confrontation and was bullied by you when you threatened to discontinue in the middle of the procedure so he decided to keep quiet. That’s the only reason. That was totally unforgivably unbelievable how you even threatened that! I am beyond words!! You handled that situation so utterly miserably. If you can’t handle “hysteric” child then don’t practice on children!!

Fantastic experience: Had 15 teeth crowned and removed 1 wisdom tooth. Was a little anxious about it but Dr Kwong assured me all would be fine and IT WAS. Totally recommend him to anyone. Love his work and he has great staff to assist him.

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth that has been giving me grief on and off for a while now and recently became severely infected. I saw Alan the same day and he commenced a route canal treatment that gave me instant pain relief. I still have a few more appointments to go until it is completely fixed, but Alan did an amazing job and I feel much better. Also for the last 18 months I've had chronic sinusitis that has been terrible to live with but after getting the route canal the sinusitis has also disappeared. After further research it seems that the tooth was causing those sinus issues and now that it is being repaired I no longer have those issues. Thanks for everything so far Alan!

Fantastic experience: Dr Alan Kwong is the best ever dentist I have met in my 50 years. He is sure, confident and efficient and is an experienced dentist which made my experience painless. I am terrified of dentists and the pain. I dislike inexperienced dentists who xray my whole mouth and then asks u to come back for another appointment at the same time prodding around your mouth inducing more pain. I am so pleased to finally find a best dentist!

Fantastic experience: Best service and experience I have ever had at the dentist. Having a severely infected wisdom tooth, Dr Alan recommended an immediate extraction - he even showed me just how bad it was. Now for someone who is TERRIFIED when it comes to dentists/ surgery’s etc, and puts everything off for this reason... I said I’d just get it done there and then otherwise I’d be working myself up for the next day. He constantly checked up on me to see if I was okay and made me feel so comfortable. It was all over in under 10 minutes. Amazing. The lady ( whom I didn’t catch the name- sorry!) was so lovely and she held my hand the whole time because I was so nervous. Thank you so much to the both of you! I’m definitely going to be recommending you to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I recently had dental surgery here as I was in severe pain due to wisdom teeth erupting, Alan and Delphine treated me with so much care and ensured I was looked after in a very timely manner. The surgery was an absolute breeze and they helped keep me calm throughout it. As for pricing, this practice has very competitive pricing and I'm grateful I didn't have to spend an arm and leg considering how quickly everything was organized for me. Could not recommend Alan enough!

Negative experience: Dr. Alan Kwong has no patience when dealing with children. He was quick to get the job done and had no compassion or understanding of how to calm a nervous child. He was rude and appeared stressed when my child was very nervous. He also lacked in providing information and needs huge improvement in his communication skills. Definitely do not recommend, especially if you are bringing your children!!
