Fantastic experience: I wanted to say that after being petrified of dentists and having put any dental work off after a previous traumatic experience, I was recommended to see Dr Mody by my Dad. His professionalism, understanding and attention to detail gave me so much confidence to treat the initial problem but also to continue with having a baby tooth “redesigned” to look like an adult tooth, without the need for any major dental work. He is extremely knowledgeable & doesn’t fluff about with anything unnecessary or upsell you - he down sold me. So he’s ethical & that’s what you want! Negative experience: Most unprofessional dentistry office in Australia! Avoid this place if you have a brain, I saw vuk and mody both ‘dentists’ couldn’t manage to do 4 fillings correctly. Resulting in me needing to go back 7+ times and costing me over 3 grand over the course of 6 months (while not being able to eat on my right side) to try and fix these mistakes THEY caused and I’m still having issues today. Do not let these people touch your teeth.

According to our records, no veneer treatment was performed at our practice in 2018, as suggested in your review. Additionally, it is important to note that the recommended course of treatment was not completed, despite our advice to do so. Negative experience: Appointment for a clean - Originally booked for 10:00am and was then asked to come in for 9:40am. Didn't get seen till after 10:00am. Got x-rays done spoke about a treatment plan then had maybe 10 minutes of cleaning done before being told they were out of time and to come back for another appointment to get the cleaning done. Wanted a clean, cost $400.00 to get half a clean.

Although we endeavor to keep appointments on time, sometimes unexpected delays crop up and we are sorry this was the case with your appointment being delayed by 20 minutes.
Further to our email communications, the team would like to clarify as below.
The charge for your appointment is determined by the health fund of which we are preferred providers. The scaling charge is fixed by the health fund at $111.
The remaining fees / charges consisted of Consultation, X-rays and Photos.
When a routine six monthly preventative care appointment is not adequate, the therapist may require a second appointment and the Item number 115 exists for this reason. We regret this was not clearly communicated with you.
We hope our response helps to clarify your dissatisfaction.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mody is a skilled and experienced dentist. He and his staff are friendly and welcoming, and they make their patients feel comfortable and at ease. I recently had 3 crowns and 4 wisdom teeth removed, plus a filling. I hadn't looked after my teeth for 10 years, and my dentist helped me to get the smile I've always wanted. I considered going abroad for this work, but I'm glad I didn't. My health insurance covered some of the cost, and I knew that if I had any problems, my dentist was just down the road. Negative experience: So utterly disappointed. Had fillings done here, it was only meant to be a shallow filling, she some how managed to mess my tooth up. i’ve had insane pain in my tooth since getting the filling done, went to another dentist and looks like the filling has cracked my tooth and they had drilled so much into my tooth despite it not being decayed that deeply. Need to get a root canal and a crown due to the damage done to my tooth from this place. never will i ever come back here. There goes 2 grand after what was only meant to be a few hundred dollars.

Negative experience: I went on Monday and got quoted for a teeth clean 250 dollars without insurance. I went today for my clean and I got charged 371 with no explanations. I went and try to ask about the extra charge and they told my they did a wrong quote. No refund. An unpleasant experience, with unfriendly staff. I would never give them another dollar. It costs nothing to be helpful!

To clarify you have not been treated at our practice as a patient on the 30th of April 2024 as per your review. It was your partner who was treated. She has been our patient since the last 12 years, who consented to the X-rays and treatment provided; unfortunately she did not inform us that she had discontinued her Health Fund membership due to which she had to bear the cost in full which came as a surprise to her.
In fact your records indicate your last visit to Woodvale Park Dental was on the 01st of March 2024 and that you were satisfied with the care you received at our practice.
Your review is not reflective of best practice at our dental surgery.
All patients receive a treatment plan prior to treatment and there are no hidden costs.
Kindly review the fairness of your review and we request you remove it.
Our staff go above and beyond to assist patients with information on cost and treatment.

Negative experience: Attended this practice for toothache, was advised by Dr Mody simply required a filling which was completed on the day 12 hours later i contacted the practice and advise filling was too high , was initial told just wait as you are not use too it Reattended again Dr Mody took longer to rectify the incorrectly filled tooth that to do the actual work 12 hours later rang again was told wait at least two weeks Reattend two weeks later as still in pain , this time Dr Mody advised me i would require a TREATMENT PLAN $4500 approx and was charged again for the visit I contacted the practice two days later to question if the TREATMENT PLAN would actual solve my pain , and questioned what guarantees if any that TREATMENT PLAN would work I did receive an email but still no guarantees I decided to seek further advice , have seem a completely different practice , $200 completely pain free , the new practice simply rectified Dr Mody POOR workmanship I contacted Woodvale Park by telephone explaining my concerns the young girl said she would pass on my issues , STILL NO RESPONSE UPDATE After placing this review i received a call and was advised the young girl was new and didn't pass on your concerns At NO time did i ever suggest or threat a poor review on google I can verity that all is true correct , i have emails , and voice recorded messages Laura stated today she will remove Woodvale Parks Response if i REMOVE MY !! All I've ever requested was SORRY

3) You had been advised root canal treatment, only if the tooth become painful in the future, for which you had requested a treatment plan via email- This was emailed to you on 01/08/2023.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mody was incredible. He has done 2 laser frenectomy to our 5 days old baby girl. She was born with a tongue tie and lip tie and she couldn't eat anything. After a negligence review from the hospital, we decided to go privately and thanks to the really expert Dr Mody, everything has been solved in about 15 mins of surgery and after 2 weeks, our lovely girl was perfectly fine and she has started eating normally. Thanks again Dr Mody and the whole team.

Fantastic experience: I have a huge paranoia of going to the dentist, this has impacted my dental health for many years with my anxiety stopping me from regular dental visits. I was recommended to visit Woodvale Park dental so I found my brave and made a booking. To say they are amazing is an understatement. I had to have a periodontal clean which they did with oral sedation. I don’t remember anything other than arriving. Dr Mody was very patient with me and explained the whole process prior to the day of the treatment . I will never go anywhere else than this great dental surgery. Don’t walk… run !

Negative experience: Every appointments I need to wait more than 10-35minutes. The staff asking me to go walk outside while waiting for my orthodontist, which is outside is raining. Also not many colour option and turn out the yuck colour just in a week or two.

Negative experience: Doesn't even deserve one star but i had to give one to post this comment. This dentist cracked my tooth while trying to do a crown and another Crown he did only lasted 3 years. Also they tried to put me on a dental plan to do other work but my gut feeling said otherwise and after getting a second opinion from another dentist i found out my teeth were perfectly fine. Replying to your reply it seems like you conveniently lost my records but there is no mistake that your dental practice did the work.

Fantastic experience: I have only good things to say about WPD. My first consult with Dr Monika a few months ago re: Porcelain Vaneers was all positive. I was very determined, although nervous about the fall process. Dr Monika thoroughly explained the pro's and con's making sure I understood before going ahead. I cannot say how pleased I am with the results. Weeks later I came back to have a wisdom tooth removed...again her explanation of the process was excellent. Fantastic experience: Dr Mody and his team were fantastic! I underwent 6 months of fast braces orthodontics, after being advised by another dentist that the same treatment would take a minimum of 2 years. Throughout the entire process Dr Mody and his team were very friendly and communicative, always explaining the next steps and helping me to understand the process. 6 months later and my jaw issues have now been rectified and my teeth have never looked better! I cannot recommend woodvale park dental enough for all your dental needs!

Fantastic experience: I had to get my wisdom tooth removed a while back and was so glad I chose to go Woodvale Park Dental. Dr Mody was very patient (I am super scared of needles and anything dental!) and understanding. He was also very skillful and the tooth was removed with minimal pain. Negative experience: UPDATE: The stars are for staff friendliness. My then 5 years old girl was needing major dental works (after consulting with her school nurse dental). I took her to this practice in 2015 after reading the positive reviews, knowing that this practice is under MBP member choice, and also a failed procedure on one of her tooth by our long-term dentist. My daughter had at least or about 6 visits w/ this practice. The procedures failed as one of her gum were back to swell within 2 weeks. It was Dr Anne Coyle who treated her for the past (at least) 5 visits after initial treatment by another dental nurse lady I only remember the face. I asked for Dr Coyle's recommendation who suggested to pierce her gum now and then, and antibiotics. Must be traumatic experience for little children to have their gum pricked, let it bleeds. Also, what about the impact of the antibiotics in the long run? Don't get me wrong, the dentists were nice to children, but they should could have told us honestly if the treatments shall be done by a paediatric rather than wasting our annual insurance limit, time, petrol money. As our last resort as NONE in MBP list we could find a paediatric dentist, we decided to let all the work repeated by an experienced paediatric dentist despite out of pocket we should incur. In between of the 6 visits by my daughter, I had 1 tooth repaired (just simple , but I can tell the difference how rough bite/chew the tooth was after and how it cracked after few months causing repeat treatment by another dentist. I wrote a review on their facebook page (perhaps twice), but they deleted them. I think I need to voice my experience. 2020, November 2020. My daughter needs ortho care due to 1 front canine goes wrong way. On 24/11/2020, I wrote an email to Woodvale Park Dental requesting them to reverse the ortho charge they made in 2016, as this work was ALL need to be redone. The amount was $690 - HUGE amount considering how PrivateHealth caps the LIFETIME ortho per person. $690 was ripping nearly 35% of my daughter's limit. Let's see how they response to this request. WROTE PRIVATE EMAIL to the practice SOON AFTER comment from them on google review. THEY REFUSED TO reverse the ortho done at their practice. THEIR REASON: DR. ANNE COYLE IS NO LONGER WITH THE PRACTICE! BEWARE !!!

Negative experience: I went in to get my teeth cleaned & the receptionist wasn’t nice. I felt extremely judged , especially when I overheard her saying “ she needs sedation for a clean in a sarcastic tone ” they knew this because I have anxiety. The dentist who did my teeth I felt was quite agressive & he indicated I needed four fillings. I am to thankful I listened to my gut instincts & went somewhere else. The dentist who I am now with couldn’t find the four fillings indicated by the previous dentist after looking for them. Due to my amazing new dentist I no longer need sedation , she is wonderful & gentle. They have never judged me & treat me with the up most respect. I will never recommend Woodvale Park Dental.

Positive experience: Got my 3rd phase of root canal and given a quote before . The last phase I paid 200 dollar more than quoted without being advised. Really not happy at the time but paid as don’t like arguing with the staff . Any extra should of been communicated prior .

Negative experience: I was told that I had gum disease and that one of my molers needed a root canal, I was very suspicious about the whole thing. I had a second opinion at a different dental surgery, turns out I didn't need a root canal and I dont have gum disease, I have very healthy teeth and gums!

Fantastic experience: EDIT: I have since terminated my treatment with Dr Mody after 1.2 years of braces and having roughly spent $9000. I’ve found another lovely dentist who has taken over my case. My “fast”braces treatment will now be 1 year 10 months after being told my case would be 8-10 months and “FastBraces” are cheaper than traditional braces. My recommendation would be to go see a specialist orthodontist and get a second opinion. After terminating my treatment I’ve been offered $800 back (I paid the full cost in 6 months as that was a requirement) and told I’d only get that if I signed an NDA. ———————Original Review—————- Having my teeth cared for by Dr Mody is greatly reassuring. From the moment you sit down in his chair you can tell that he knows what he's doing and has incredible e xperience. I first visited him last year after not being to the dentist for 5 years due to fear of judgement. He was so kind and did not judge at all. My teeth were in a bad state but were all taken care of by him.It has been a process. I've had everything from fillings, wisdom teeth removed and an impacted canine taken out. I'm currently going through the fast braces journey with him and will eventually have a dental implant placed and crowns. I'm really looking forward to the end result. I have to say, I really enjoy going to the dentist now. Everyone in his practice is amazing and have made me feel super comfortable. Yes dentistry is expensive, but knowing that Dr Mody has so much experience and knowledge justifies it all. I'm in the hands of the best. Your teeth are so important and I wish I had found him earlier.

Negative experience: I give two starts only because the filling I had there is fine. Otherwise, it would be one. I was there two years ago and they quoted unnecessary work, tried to persuade me to do it as soon as possible although another two dantists say it is all fine to wait. Also during treatment doctor and his assistant were gossiping non-stop about their relatives and friends which I found very unprofessional.

Negative experience: LIP / TONGUE TIE LASER - in toddlers The stars are for the lovely receptionists and dental nurses. We took my 15 month old for lip tie laser today after reading great reviews of Dr Mody. On meeting Dr Mody he accessed my daughter and confirmed the lip tie and presence of poor dental hygiene. He however said he couldn't do the tie today and it has to be late at night because 'my daughter will be traumatised and crying so much he doesn't want to disturb those attending his practice' he also said I should never have been told in the first place he could do it there and then due to my daughters age (fair enough if I had not been told otherwise). I asked his advice as to whether we needed the lip tie laser now or could we wait until she was a bit older his reply was 'I would have done it when she was a newborn, not waited'... Thanks Dr Mody, great advice to a anxious family who were not aware of the tie until she was older and with front teeth - we are clearly here, paying you money, trying to do something about it now! He just made me feel rubbish - when we were seeking his professional help. I asked if he could give my daughters teeth a little clean as they had visable build up, however he said no - not sure why, perhaps he was too worried she would cry and disturb his practice? He did mention he would do the clean during the lip tie release - however we didn't know when this would be, a week a month? I asked on leaving if they had any children's tooth brushes, they gave me a 4 - 7 yr old one for my 15 month old? Whilst free, I would have preferred the correct tool for my child (or not one at all if not available, it's ok to say you don't have any). So in summary our experience with Dr Mody wasn't the best and I feel his brisqe manner perhaps doesn't suit our family. We will be going elsewhere for dental advice in regard to her lip tie. After posting this review the clinic has been in touch and discussed my feedback, I was kindly offered a refund of the services performed (however we declined as money isn't the issue here). I was reassured that Dr Mody is a specialist in his area, which I am sure he is - however its just his preference to treat younger (newborn - 3 month yr olds) whom will be less traumatised from the lip/tongue release. Such a shame if your tie wasn't identified at this age.

Fantastic experience: My son (9) broke his front tooth in half... 3 days before Christmas. I got a fast appointment and I can hand on heart say I am beyond ecstatic with the service and results. They even helped me by adjusting his plate to suit as they knew I wouldn’t be able to get in with my Ortho so close to Christmas. He was super nervous and they were so amazing at explaining what they were doing and what all the tools were. Will definitely be using this practice for our whole family going forward. Fantastic experience: I'm scared senseless of dentists but Woodvale made me feel comfortable and made me feel at ease. The dentist himself was great reassured me everything was going to be ok and told me what was going to happen....I have now made this my dentist even though it's a 20 minute drive only place I will go ....and great customer service at reception and for checking up on me to see if I was ok ... deffently recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: I hadn’t been to a dentist in 25 years due to a massive needle phobia. That changed when I broke a tooth. I did extensive research and gave Woodvale Park Dental a call. Lynda answered the phone and immediately put me at ease and made me feel calm and that continued when I arrived. Dr Shahrukh Mody then calmly talked me through the process and the best treatment plan moving forward. I have now had most of the treatment and I would highly recommend this kind, knowledgeable and skilful team! Dr Mody, Lynda and the rest of the friendly staff are excellent at what they do. And if your needle phobic like me, this is the place to go. They will take great care of you.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit the Woodvale Park surgery. Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. I had chronic tooth pain to which I had visited another dental practice 3 times (I won't be going back there), and they even referred me to a specialist Endodontist which cost me $300 and even he left me undiagnosed and in pain. I found this place online and rang them desperately explaining my situation. They suggested I see Dr Mody at 8 am the following morning and within 30 mins he had discovered the cause of my pain and even moved his afternoon clients to perform surgery that afternoon. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with Dr Mody. He is by far the best dentist I have ever seen. I felt completely safe in his hands. The staff were also so caring and understanding and put me at ease even though I was a bit overwhelmed. They put up with my million questions after the surgery and Dr Mody was always available for any questions or followup appointments I needed. If only all places were as professional as this! Thanks to everyone :)
