Fantastic experience: A couple of days ago I underwent dental implant surgery on my lower jaw. I was prepared for some discomfort and pain after the local anaesthetic wore off. However, I am delighted to say I have experienced no adverse effects, pain or discomfort whatsoever; a testament to the skill of my dentist, Dr Sagnik Sengupta who, on the day, was ably assisted by Holly. During the preparatory visit and immediately prior to surgery Dr Sagnik took the time to clearly explain the process and address any questions and concerns. On the morning following the surgery I very much appreciated receiving a follow-up call from Port Smiles to find out how I was feeling. I have been a patient with Port Smiles for a number of years and cannot speak highly enough of Dr Sagnik, Holly and the whole team at Port Smiles. I would have no hesitation in recommending Port Smiles. Their new facilities are a pleasure to visit. Thank you, Dr Sagnik, Holly and the whole team, for your care.

Having experienced dental trauma in the past, I used to suffer from severe anxiety leading up to and during dental appointments. But Kevin and Rachel are the most awesome dentists they care so much that you are in no pain and take so much care to fix your teeth. Can’t recommend Port Smiles highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Oh wow what can I say other than that Dr Sagnik and Dr Neil along with their team are just absolute superstars!! The new branch in Port Macquarie is pretty amazing too!

Negative experience: Port Smiles - I required professional cosmetic surgery on my front tooth. I asked Port Smiles if this was a service they could provide? if they were professionally cosmetic surgeons for cracked tooth rebuilt cosmetically? I’m afraid as much as they achieved a bonded filling.. it was poorly orchestrated- After the work on the tooth:- 1st - I asked what the mark on my tooth was when finished I was told …..Plaque. Incorrect it was the join of the filling to the broken tooth, that was plainly in view. Unsightly. 2nd - Next the colour of the tooth has been made white, this does not corresponding with my teeth colour looks false tooth. 3rd - the ridge is too high on the side instead of curving over its depth is deep sharp; it’s too high a ridge trapping food every time. My disappointment in that it wasn’t a professional experienced cosmetic surgeon not having adequately a professionally trained cosmetic dentistry, This same tooth was done 15 yrs ago originally by a first class cosmetic dentistry surgeon. Excellent work looked like the real tooth could not tell it had been cosmetically done. It cost then was $680 - 15 yrs ago. Today same tooth needing cosmetic surgery cost $420 - this was not done with experience or professionalism in Cosmetic Surgery on teeth. It was a filling - the cost was a filling too. Very disappointed. When one asked for the best professional cosmetic surgeon and if this is the type of work they do! -I didn't get this service, the cost proves it was not a professional cosmetic dentistry in this type of professional cosmetic field work. The disappointment was in the WORK. The dental surgery itself was pleasant along with the staff. Very friendly. BUT Port Smiles should keep to being honest on what they can actually offer customers. Because it’s obviously not professional cosmetic work.

After a not-so-great experience elsewhere, the team here made me feel completely comfortable from day one. Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Port Smiles for all your dental needs. I am a member of HCF and my six monthly checkups have no out of pocket expenses. I recently needed an urgent appointment because of, what I thought was, a broken molar. It turned out to be a broken crown! Dr Vivian fitted me in for a temporary filling within two days of my call. I had the prep work, crown made and fitted within three hours this week. It is perfect. I can highly recommend Port Smiles in Port Macquarie and Bonny Hills and Dr Vivian is meticulous.

Fantastic experience: My 8 year old daughter needed to have a tooth extracted and I wanted to thank Kelsie and Dr Neil for their ongoing support and amazing care for both my daughters. Both my girls love going to the dentist - they actually find it fun and it’s thanks to the incredible staff. I just wanted to particularly express my deepest appreciation for the incredible support and positive experience both myself and my daughter had with the tooth extraction. We were both nervous and Kelsie purposely swapped shifts to be there for Sienna which made this whole experience extremely seamless and totally focused on my daughter being cared for. Dr Neil always takes time to genuinely chat with them and bring humour, normality and comfort to their experience. We are so grateful. Thankyou

Negative experience: You better reply to their “courtesy” appointment reminder. If no they call you - and if you happen to work and can’t take their call they cancel your appointment. Calling back wasn’t possible as they turned off their phones (as confirmed but their other branch that replied). After waiting weeks on a much needed appointment they are not willing to treat me. Unprofessional and unacceptable

Fantastic experience: Have been attending Port Smiles for 5 years. Very happy with the knowledge, care and attention received by all the Doctors and team at Port Smiles. Yesterday had 2 front teeth on lower jaw removed and temporary bridge fitted. Appreciated the friendly banter and jokes to help relax me before commencing the procedure. The whole procedure was painless - even the needles to anaesthitise! Dr Sagnik and his Dental Assistant reassured me throughout and informed me of the start of each stage, allowing time for me to do a couple of sideway stretches of the jaw to relax it. I can honestly say it was the most comfortable complex dental procedure I have experienced. As advised, I had some pain - minimal - a few hours after and Panadol took care of that. Pain free today. Thank you Dr Sagnik and your Dental Assistant for your excellent care and I appreciate the follow up text message to check on my well-being. I highly recommend Port Smiles.

Fantastic experience: X-ray showed the tooth was necrotic so we decided it had better come out. The anaesthetic injection and the removal were painless and only took around 20 minutes. Chris and his colleagues gave me detailed instructions for after care and this morning, the morning after I am still painless with just paracetamol and anti inflammatory. On inspection the tooth had clearly seen better days. Thank you Chris and team

Fantastic experience: I would totally recommend Port Smiles Dental. I received a comprehensive assessment of my teeth using x-ray and 3D imaging. I needed fillings, and crowns for two damaged teeth. All were carried out within a few weeks (crowns done in one day!), with all care taken for my comfort during these procedures. Thank you Port Smiles for my new smile.
