Fantastic experience: The best, best, best dentist I’ve ever been to! I came here to “fix” and improve some previous dental work I had done overseas many years ago. Here I’ve had so much work, multiple upper crowns along with other treatments to perfect my smile. I also get regular gummy Botox (the only place I’ve ever had it where it actually made a difference). Since the beginning - every single member of staff has always been so friendly and welcoming, in particular Rachel, Laura, and Nita are so lovely – they actually make coming to the dentist an enjoyable experience (which is usually unheard of). Lastly, Dr. Michael is just amazing at what he does. The results speak for themselves: my smile looks absolutely perfect, even better than I could have imagined. Everything I asked for was listened to, every step was explained, and so much care was taken to make sure I was 100% happy before anything was finalised - I never felt rushed in the process at all and I had constant support throughout the process and aftercare. :) I am so so so grateful I found this place. Fantastic experience: I wanted to share with you a beautiful experience I had. I haven't had a tooth extracted since I was two years old. When I was fifteen, I had to drop out of school in my country because it was really hard for me to go to class without any teeth. My classmate always made fun of me and I didn't have any friends. I had dentures since I was twenty. I couldn't smile from the bottom of my heart when I was around my friends. Until I m forty nowexactly a few weeks ago, I met Dr. Michael and his team and decided to get all my teeth implanted. I did it exactly a two week ago and it was the best decision of my life. Fantastic experience: I recently had an issue with my two front teeth and decided to get porcelain veneers on the top row. Given my hectic schedule, Dr. Michael Tam and his team—Rachal and Fernando & Laura & Nita managed to complete everything in record time, under three weeks, from the temporary veneers to fixing my gum to the final result. They used a combination of composite and porcelain to give me a stunning smile. As someone who gets anxious at the dentist, I was really impressed by how well the team took care of me. They constantly checked in to make sure I was okay, which made the entire process feel much more comfortable. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I received multiple follow-up messages, and they were so accommodating with my busy hours. The result speaks for itself—my smile looks incredible. Dr. Tam's skill is clear, with over 25 years of experience (possibly more!). I’m also in the process of having my mercury fillings removed, and Sandra has been amazing in guiding me through that. After having a cracked tooth removed, my pain has completely vanished, and I’m no longer experiencing gum discomfort. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Smile By Design for years now and every single time enjoy exceptional service and results. Such a friendly and professional team. Can’t recommend SBD enough!

Negative experience: They'll reel you in with a consult and then start asking for more and more money. I saw my normal dentist 6 months ago who has been looking after my family for years, unfortunately he has moved to the Central Coast. He told me at the time I had no issues and no cavities. Went to this new clinic as we have moved to North Sydney and now this place claims I have multiple (expensive!) cavities and need all of my wisdom teeth out (thousands of $$$$$) and whitening ($800 per appointment!!) and veneers (thousands more $$$$$). They also charge a whopping $350 for just a normal clean - that's $3000 for my husband and I and both our kids to just have a regular clean twice a year! I have no pain and am shocked at what they tried to get me to sign up for. Went to another dentist 5 minutes away who confirmed I have no cavities and do not need whitening or veneers and that my wisdom teeth should not be removed as there is nothing wrong with them. Very disappointing experience. Parking is also a nightmare - the only options are either limited metered parking on the street which you have to run out to top up every 30 minutes during your appointment or spending $80 to park at Wilson parking. Choose your dentist wisely!!!

Negative experience: I had Invisalign done here a few years back. Dr Tam was nice at the beginning but his last impression was definitely sour. Retainer wire wasn't glued properly by another doctor at this practice, and a few weeks after installation it cut my tongue. I came back asking to get the glue redone and instead of being apologetic for the botch job his associate had done, Dr Tam was trying to blame it on me and trying to get me to pay for him having to redo the glue which should have been done properly to begin with! Later on upon leaving the receptionist asked for my private health insurance card to swipe and said "Don't worry we are not going to charge you anything" but when I look at the receipt, they wanted to charge over $500 worth of random dental services from my insurance company. That's almost all my yearly general dental allowance! What a crook. I would never encourage anyone to fix their teeth here. I'm now in Melbourne and had the opportunity to deal with a genuine orthodontist whose practice is much more professional. So to anyone who is considering this place, don't. Go to a proper orthodontist!

Fantastic experience: After a long time with not much chewing surface and bad dental habits, I came to Smile by Design for 6 implants and composite veneers for my wedding. From helping me access my super easily to ensuring I had the most natural looking, ‘still me’ smile in time for our big day, the whole team has just been brilliant. I never felt any pain during my visits and Micheal kept me informed of the reason for, and what was happening with each step. Fantastic experience: I volunteered for Smile by Design over 3 weeks. It was the best experience I’ve ever had in a dental clinic. I was always welcomed with friendly faces. Dr Michael Tam always made sure I was comfortable and okay with the tasks I was doing. The staff members treated me like a professional and I did not feel uncomfortable at all. Also observing Dr Michael, Dr Regina and Dr Sandra doing surgeries on their patients, they treated them with such good care and it wasn’t a matter of just getting the surgery done but to make sure the patient was fully satisfied with it.

Fantastic experience: I enlisted Dr Michael Tam to refresh my two front teeth after a 20 year old filling had stained and created a dark ‘shadow’ which I resented. I am extremely particular about my teeth in general but in this case, the result needed to be perfect. I wasn’t keen on taking risks with general dentists, and after doing my homework, I decided Dr Tam was the man. I had high hopes and he didn’t disappoint. The result is flawless.
