Fantastic experience: Had 2 wisdom extractions and was possibly the best experience I've had, Dr. Susan and marienna were very attentive and made me feel calmer about the whole experience. I am usually very nervous and get jittery if I know there's something in there but they were really good at putting me at ease and were very entertaining.

Positive experience: Had a very disappointing experience with the hygienist whose name starts with Z. She spoke in cold and impacient tone, kept complaining about how dirty my teeth were. She said she couldn’t finish the cleaning within the allocated time and would only do the lower teeth, asking me to come back another time for the upper ones. I’ve had many dental cleanings before and have never encountered such a situation. so few days later, i asked a leave for teeth cleaning and was ready to leave for the appointment when I was notified at the very last minute that the hygienist was sick and i have to cancel the appointment. They asked me to come the next day instead. Then the next day, I received another call saying the hygienist was sick again, and the appointment was postponed once more. Finally, Dr. Susan did my cleaning, and within the same amount of time, she cleaned all of my teeth properly, (Including the lower teeth, because they were not cleaned properly at all last time!). Dr Susan explained a lot about dental care and gave me helpful tips. The cleaning procedure even included more steps than the previous one. And Susan’s Western female assistant was very friendly helpful, made me feel comfortable and happy. so, the original hygienist did nothing but waste my time and negatively affect my mood.

I have found her to be very easy to deal with, helpful and she explains everything in great depth about what will happen, what to expect and what to look out for once each step has been done. Her professionalism along with easy to understand explanations builds great confidence in going through each step of the procedures. This really does put your mind at rest every step of the way. Massive thank you to Dr Penny and the team for being awesome through out this jurney.

Fantastic experience: Meticulous clean and thank you

Negative experience: Was told I needed fillings here months ago from a female dentist (can’t remember her name) I went to another dentist for a second opinion as it just didn’t feel right and was told I don’t need any fillings at all. Disgusted by the amount of trust I gave to this dentist and money I gave to this clinic for years and I will never be returning.

Fantastic experience: Scared of going to the dentist? Then attend Island Dental at West Lakes! I have always had excellent service from their friendly reception staff to the dental team who are gentle, informative and have excellent clinical knowledge. They use numbing gel prior to injections so the pain is almost non existent thank goodness!! The surroundings are bright and roomy, with TV on wall and ceiling, garden and water features outside each window to look at and have off street parking and easy ramp access if needed. Equipment is well maintained and up to date. Always on time and with my BUPA cover I don't pay a cent for twice yearly dental hygiene visits or fillings. Overall 10/10.

Fantastic experience: Island Dental is not only a great dentist to visit, it’s a great PLACE to visit. Firstly the sms/telephone reminders are excellent as I am prone to forgetting appointments! It seems as if every part of Island Dental is carefully engineered to guarantee that the sometimes anxiety-inducing experience of fixing one’s teeth is as easy as putting on a pair of slippers. The car park is large, making it easy to reverse in, and the atrium at the entrance is lined with relaxing water features and a green garden. I was actually excited to go inside. The waiting room is peaceful, as if existing from some plane of the universe not perturbed by humans at all, with plump chairs. And the wait was within 15 minutes, which when it comes to anything medical, is rarer than affordable tickets to Taylor Swift. The examination rooms are well lit, with views of the lakes or even more gardens to put one at ease. There are televisions on the ceiling. The dentists/hygienists/other staff are painless. And fast. Really fast. And really proficient. And friendly. And clear with their instructions. Even my daughter, who is 3, and behaves like most 3 year olds would at the dentist, had a pleasant (and vitally) tantrum-free experience at Island Dental. And as a parent, there is no higher praise than that.

This was then accompanied by Dr Penny who analysed my teeth and made some great suggestions for improving my overall dental health, whilst prioritising more urgent works required. Negative experience: I am not satisfied with my treat experience at all. I had a small filling came off at my left back teeth. I didn’t have any sensitive or pain issue with that teeth at all. The previous filling was there for years and was not big and deep that is why it came off when I ate one milky lollie. I needed to get the filling done otherwise the food will stuck in the hole. The doctor had made the filling twice bigger and deeper. Now I feel chewing pressure and sensitivity of cold and hot food. I can’t eat ( chew )on that side at all. I had no sensitivity or discomfort issues at all before visiting the clinic.

Most importantly, the dentist Dr. Oriza Laprea and her hygienist Lara(if I pronounced her name correctly) are very knowledgeable and show a strong professionalism towards their customers/patients.
