Fantastic experience: I had a very bad tooth ache and was lucky to get an emergency appointment. I usually have bad anxiety when I sit in the dentist chair. I was made to feel very comfortable and relaxed during my examination. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is scared of the dentist.

I have a number of old dodgy fillings and Sharif carefully checked them all, identified the ones needing urgent attention and provided me with a costed treatment plan. I went ahead and had 2 crowns done. Love the 3D printed crowns! It really speeds up the process and means one visit rather than two. Great communication and very COVID aware

Fantastic experience: Dr. Michael is the best dentist I’ve ever worked with. His number one priority is to ensure his patients are comfortable and well informed. He does this by walking you through everything that he will be doing inside of your mouth before he starts to work. Then, as he’s working, he calls out things that he’s seeing. When he’s finished, he thoroughly explains everything that he’s seen and done and works with the patient on a game plan moving forward. I greatly appreciate this approach and it puts me at ease. He is incredibly diligent and takes pride in his work. He is honest and gives his patients all of the necessary information up front so they can make the best decision for themselves.

Fantastic experience: Snapped about 1/4 of my tooth off, the break nearly went to my gum. Dr Shareif Elhoufy was amazing! Went in for a consultation and the next day i was in the chair. He saved the tooth, did a full root canal plus a crown and a filling for the adjacent tooth. Provided a detailed treatment plan along with the products needed. Hardly any swelling or pain from work. Excellent post work support. Easily one of the best dentists in Canberra. Highly recommend! Actually forget what I said, don't want his wait list to get any bigger or ill have to wait till next year to get an appointment.

Negative experience: Highly recommend you book elsewhere. Poor quality fixtures and potentially hazardous. The level of indifference to a permanent retainer losing its bond after a week on two succesive occasions, stabbing into a persons gums and mouth, speaks to the quality of dental work provided.

Fantastic experience: I would strongly recommend Dr Elfar to anyone but particularly anyone who has strong trauma or stress relating to dental work, including major dental work. As someone who experiences panic attacks relating to dental work, Dr Elfar has been exceptional at understanding my situation and accomodating it whenever I need dental work. He also works with you to determine the best treatment options for you and is honest about what he can and cannot do based on your circumstances.

But from the caring and empathic receptionist who fitted me in 15 minutes after I arrived in Canberra and Dr Sharif’s care and explanation, and palliative treatment ( other than a massive swollen face ) kept me going until I could get home. Fantastic experience: Would be 4.5 if I could figure out how :p Michael, one of the dentists is brilliant, though did seem to pad the time out a bit--weird, since I don't think they bill by the hour. Maybe just wanted me to feel I got my moneys worth, and I did! One snag is the treatment plan. They fill it out with all of the things you might want to get done in the future, then ask you to sign it. Nani? There's no contractual language on the document, it's not an agreement as far as I know... just seems very weird, and leaves you with the lingering feeling that you are somehow being conned. But decent price and warm, expert service by the dentist and support staff. 4.5 out of 5, until I find out that I signed my soul away.

Fantastic experience: The Team at A1 Dental are fantastic. There was a few miscommunications in regards to booking but besides that, they were great. Firstly, appointment was cancelled due to COVID which I completely understand, it's out of their hands so it was what it was. No issue with that what so ever. However, when they called to rebook me back in once restrictions eased I was given the wrong date for appointment so had to change my leave, my partners leave and work around studies due to this error but we got there in the end. We needed a statement saying that these changes were made at fault and on behalf of the dentist and not by our choice which we were told would be sent through the day the new appointment date was confirmed, however, it took nearly 3 weeks to come through (with 3 reminders) which wasn't ideal for our employers as they were waiting on this to approve leave changes. I completely understand that in these unpredictable times that things get full on & busy and things get forgotten, they are only human after all It didn't put my mind at ease when the communication was lacking throughout this process though. It is an expensive outlay & quite a stressful experience at the best of times so aiming to have better communication is all I could recommend to better my experience with A1 Dental. Once all of the confusion was sorted It was a smooth and simple process. Clean, Tidy, Great Dental Work, Gentle & Good Location.

Fantastic experience: My family and I needed some last minute consultations and treatment. The clinic bent over backwards to accomodate us. No request was too much. The quality of treatment was excellent and very customer service orientated. Both the dentists and the hygienist were excellent and very engaging and professional. Having never seen a dentist in Canberra city before I followed word of mouth and asked for Dr Shareif Elhoufy. He did a great job on the clean and advised me that I didn't need to get a filling replaced when he could have easily just done it and charged me for it. He does not do unnecessary stuff and he explains what he wants to do and why. Highly recommended.
