We provide a range of outpatient services, palliative care, renal, oral health, child health, breast screening and ophthalmology, as well as ambulatory and community-based service. There is no Emergency Department at this facility but our Minor Injury and Illness Clinic hours are everyday 8 am to 7 pm. The closest Emergency Department is at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service. Seen and X-rayed within a couple of hours when no GP appointments were available. Very grateful.
Negative experience: Tellement déçu du système d'urgence australien, vraiment comparable à celui en France. On est arrivés avec une personne souffrante avec une blessure semi grave et en pleurs, on nous a demandé de faire la queue, puis on a du remplir des papiers et on nous a posé des questions sur la religion de la personne blessée, bref horrible Ensuite on a attendu près de 2h dans une salle d'attente avec des personnes qui, en apparence en tout cas n'avait rien. On a demandé 2 fois si on ne pouvait pas être reçu plus rapidement car on savait que le problème pouvait être réglé en moins de 5min, refus. Après quasiment 2h, on nous a amené voir un medecin qui, lui, a pu régler le problème en 2min réelles. Puis devoir payer 600dollars. Horrible
Positive experience: My exp was very good staff friendly spoke with Amanda and nurse Thembie all very positive and willing to help and listen. Was seen on a Sunday am and home mid morning. Looking fwd to recovering while on holiday.

Fantastic experience: This Clinic is an excellent example of how medical centres should operate. From the initial triage to adminsitration to the most professional and caring attention given by Nurse Practitioner (in training) Marnie and Dr Peter I could not fault the treatment and advice that I received. Now retired but having been invoved in the Mecical industry for many decades it is so refreshing to see how far it has come and that a nice "human" side of care has evolved in some places. There was no rush in looking at and treating what was I was there for and detailed explanations were given and all questions answered. I really felt a bit embarrassed at the amount of time they were devoting to me, but extremly grateful. As a visitor from the Gold Coast you have an excellent facility here and are so lucky to have such a great option for medical attention.

Fantastic experience: What a brilliant place to visit when you have injured yourself. Open at 8am you are triaged promptly and the vibe of care was excellent. I was attended to by Courtney a Nurse Practitioner who was knowledgeable and an absolute breath of fresh air to the health care system!! I was in out within 2hrs with consultation, X-rays, moon boot and crutches. All staff were exceptional, well done to this practice.

Fantastic experience: We presented here as my daughter was unable to see her own GP. She had flu like symptoms with a temperature and cough. She was triaged quickly. Unfortunately we did have to wait for two hours for her to be seen as there were acute emergencies but it was definitely worth the wait. She was reviewed by Dr. Peter who was very thorough and gave plenty of advice and time. I would also like to thank Shirl, the RN who triaged my daughter, she was also very thorough and kind. She checked on my daughter and got her a bottle of water and a warm blanket. Thank you for the care that was shown.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Care at MICC Caloundra! I recently had to receive treatment at MICC Caloundra, and I cannot speak highly enough of my care during the experience. From the moment I arrived, the service was second to none. The staff truly prioritised my care due to the severity of my condition, which made a world of difference during a stressful time. What stood out to me the most was the exceptional level of care and the outstanding bedside manner of Courtney. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all my questions with patience, and made me feel genuinely cared for. It's clear that she is not only professional, but a passionate individual is dedicated to her patients' well-being. The facility itself was clean and welcoming, , which further contributed to my positive experience. I felt reassured and supported throughout my entire visit. Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding service and for making a challenging situation so much more manageable!

Negative experience: if i could give negative stars i would after waiting 5hrs for a doctor as no doctors open on a sunday was told there is nothing they could do to help me when i questioned them on why they weren't listening to me i was asked to leave as i was abusive and here i was thinking that you are supposed to ask doctors questions and they are meant to answer you WORST SERVICE EVER .

Negative experience: We unfortunately had to walkout before we could be seen. They expected a Autistic 2year old to sit waiting for 2hrs to get his eyes tested. Other people and children that arrived after us were seen before us out of turn. I suspect the receptionist was just incompetent. When I questioned what was happening she stated it can take over 2hrs waiting for the appointment.

Negative experience: don’t listen to you, don’t believe you when you say ur in pain. don’t give you pain medication even why u r crying from pain. refused me an xray bc “it’s probably not anything to do with ur bones” PROBABLY??? i waited 3 hours for a prob nothing. when im in immense pain, and a refusal of pain medication

Fantastic experience: Caroline Boreham, physiotherapist, be visited my home on several occasions when I had a major arthritic flare. She gave me appropriate exercises to do on top of my daily pool exercises. I have improved and appreciate her help and kindness by setting this new path.

Positive experience: Had an ophthalmology appointment at 1pm, didn’t end up seeing a doctor till 4pm.. there was a period of time whilst waiting.. maybe 45 minutes where a doctor didn’t even call any patients names… were they on break? Were they having a yarn? I’m not sure but a couple of the doctors I saw chatting and looking at a colleagues phone seemed pretty lardy dardy!!
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience at this hospital. My partner first visited the clinic in January where he was treated, given antibiotics and sent home. Within 3 weeks the same issue occurred again and we headed straight back, where he again had the same treatment as he had 3 weeks ago and was given the same antibiotics. At our request, (which we had to strongly push for as we were brushed off when we first asked) We asked for a swab to be done as this wasn’t normal. We were informed that if we didn’t hear from them the results were normal and they would call / contact us if something appeared abnormal. A month has passed since the second hospital visit and the same issue has occurred for the third time now. We headed to the GP this time where straight away the GP has pulled up the results from the swab and informed us of a serious illness that my partner has. The GP informed us of the extreme possibilities if this goes untreated and immediately gave us the correct steps to treat it. We received no calls, email or texts from the Caloundra MIIC when we were told if anything appeared abnormal we will be called. If we didn’t go to the GP I would hate to know what would of been the outcome. Terrible to think who else they could of possibly done this to and this it’s affected them. Absolutely terrible experience. We will not be going here again, do not recommend this clinic at all.

Negative experience: I took my youngest daughter to Caloundra Hospital around 12 PM for a check-up, accompanied by my two little ones. We waited patiently in the queue, but to my dismay, many people who arrived after us were seen by the doctor and left before we even got a chance. My youngest daughter was extremely hungry and distressed, and the wait was becoming unbearable. When I asked the nurse when we could see a doctor, I was told we were classified as "low priority," which they never told us after waiting almost 2.5 hours, which is why others who came after us were being seen first. This explanation left me shocked and frustrated. How is having two young children, one of whom is visibly hungry and upset, not considered a priority? The lack of empathy and understanding from the staff was truly disappointing. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, I left without seeing a doctor. This experience was incredibly disheartening, and I wish Google had an option to give minus 5 stars. I hope the hospital re-evaluates its triage system to better accommodate families with young children and shows more compassion in the future.

Negative experience: Terrible experience! Wait times are horrendous and when you phone to rebook an appointment the administration staff say they book an appointment and either don't or cancel it without informing you! If I could use/afford another service I would! Cannot say how terrible it is!

Fantastic experience: Glen, the security guard that was working there at the time, made things so much easier for me. His lived experience and the way he practices security is like no other. He went above and beyond to help me. I can’t leave out the lovely receptionists, nurses and doctors.

Fantastic experience: It was the day after Boxing Day and our GP was away interstate on holiday. The service was VERY busy and the sign at the door said a three hour wait – the waiting area was full. Staff were totally professional. Was triaged by a nurse who was very understanding. Finally saw a doctor who diagnosed the problem straight away and issued us with a prescription. And no charge, which we weren't expecting. Was very impressed with the service and it would be nice if the government could fund a few more of these clinics. Fantastic experience: We’ve been to MIIC with our little one 3 times now. And the care we received was amazing. From the moment we walked in, nurses in triage, admin ladies, security, nurses and doctors were all very kind and incredibly responsive, understanding the stress we felt as parents. They treated us with so much compassion and patience. Lovely nurses went out of their way to make our baby comfortable. The doctors were thorough and explained everything clearly and took the time to answer every question we had and safety netted us so well. What really stood out was the team's empathy, they treated us like family, not just another case. We left feeling well cared for and supported. We are so thankful for the quality of care we received, it truly made all the difference. So grateful to this health service and their wonderful and caring staff.

Fantastic experience: Presented to the MIIC on 29 October and 5 October needing an Anti-Rabes vaccination for a nasty dog bite sustained whilst overseas. I was initially referred to the MIIC by the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Emergency Department. On both occasions the front desk and medical staff were professional and informative and vaccination was administered promptly each time. Thanks to everyone for a great experience as this was my first ever contact with the MIIC.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed with our experience at the Caloundra Minor Injury Clinic. After contacting 13Health and being advised by the nurse to have our 5-month-old seen within 4 hours due to coughing, vomiting, and severe sleep issues, we headed to the clinic with urgency. Upon arrival, we were triaged, but our priority seemed to be set extremely low. Despite waiting for 2.5 hours, our position in the queue hardly improved; in fact, it appeared we were moving backward as more patients arrived. This left us feeling helpless and frustrated, especially given the nurse’s initial recommendation to seek care promptly. How long is it acceptable to wait for a 5-month-old baby when health advice specifies urgent attention within a 4-hour window? It was disheartening to see no accountability or clear communication from the clinic staff. The nurses didn’t provide updates or suggest alternative solutions, such as seeing our GP, despite the risks of sitting in a waiting room full of other sick patients. As concerned parents trying to follow medical advice, we felt let down by a system that failed to prioritise and guide us. This experience showed a lack of compassion and foresight, with no consideration for vulnerable patients.

Negative experience: This is my first ever google review! Today I went into the minor injury and illness around 8am this morning, with ongoing pain bearing weight on my foot after an injury an injury from a fall the previous night . I decided to go here instead of emergency as my injury wasn’t life threatening, despite the 2 hour wait the nurse called my name touched my foot to see where I was sore then sent me for an X-ray , nurse told me she couldn’t see anything but they would get a doctor to have a look and let me know and was sent home , no possible explanation? For my injury or my fall. Told I could walk on it , I tried calling around 4pm to see if a doctor had looked at my x-ray yet no-one answered the lady at the main admin was lovely and kept trying to get me through. I called at 5pm and the clinic finely answered , to be told that I wouldn’t get the results for 2 weeks and would have to see my GP?!? Then I went to ask a question and mid sentence the lady on the other end said bye and hung up on me, this was quite rude. But what’s the point of this clinic if you have to go to your GP for results. Ps : can’t get into my GP for 3 weeks so thanks Queensland health

Fantastic experience: First time I have attended this facility, everyone was very efficient, friendly, checking up on the patients in the waiting room offered Panadol, heat pack, filled my water bottle up and only waited an hour to be seen by a great doctor ....great clinic

Fantastic experience: My first experience as a patient, up until Feb this year I was a Biomedical Technician looking after the equipment. All I wanted was stitches removed, so assessed as low priority and advised of a bit of a wait, fine with that as they only had a few doctors on. Gave me a chance to get a coffee and a snack from the kiosk. Always liked the coffee and food from the kiosk. Got back just in time to be called in. Treated very well by staff, awesome team.

Fantastic experience: Took my elderly mother to the Minor Injuries Clinic on Mon 6th May (Public Holiday). The nurses were very friendly and helpful. The Doctor - Kerry was amazing. She was polite, friendly and very thorough. The advice she gave us was spot on. (Not easy with the extensive medical history). The correct advice was confirmed by my Mother’s GP on return to NSW and she was able to get the correct on going medical care and treatment. Very happy with the care.

Fantastic experience: Expected a wait as obviously its emergency and was a weekend. Had to go there yesterday. While there is not much for my condition I want to thank the women from reception triaging all the way through to the GP Dr A McMahon. Truly has restored my faith in medical experts and lowered my anxiety that i had from a past experience of going to the hospital. Thankyou to those women working yesterday

Negative experience: My friend waited 3.5 hrs after a very bad slip and fall for them to tell him he had a broken wrist in 2 places... no pain meds, no help, just waiting 3hrs for a dr to see him. They just gave him ice packs that he had to keep asking for.. They put a temporary cast on and sent him home.. He also smashed the top of his head i concrete in the fall, but that was never checked for concussion or anything, and he told 4 different people throughout his waiting The dr said he wasn't even sure what he was looking at in the x-ray... And the x-ray people were very uneducated on what they were looking at, as they asked if the swelling on his wrist had always been.. (like, yeah, a balloon on his wrist looks normal) And she said if he was a girl "as you have a girls name" she stated, he said no, do i look like a girl? She stated "well you have a girls name, and you never can tell these days. ".. . Not impressed

Fantastic experience: The team has been absolutely brilliant and extremely reactive. I was admitted due to an allergic reaction and I have been thrilled to witness how caring the whole medical team was. Fantastic experience: Had to take my 3 weeks old for conjunctivitis as we couldn’t get a doctor appointment. The triage nurse was amazing and so lovely. We were placed in a separated room to wait and within 45 minutes we were out. Very grateful to have this service.

Fantastic experience: Came here due to minor injury and couldn’t get a GP appointment in a short time span. Nurses are very helpful and friendly. Whilst waiting they came to me and see if i was doing okay. I did not have to wait for as much as i expected. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Had to attend on Boxing day knowing it would be busy. From the minute walking in to be seen by triage nurse and then nurse/doctors who assessed me and treated me and made sure I was ok were amazing can't thank them enough. All the team do an amazing job, thank you.

Negative experience: This place is such a joke. Rang at 5:30pm and asked if the place was still open, they confirmed yes but did say they can call “capacity” at any time.. so I sent my husband down, he got there at 5:40 and rang to say they had a sign up saying they’ve now reached capacity. He said there was 4 patients sitting in the waiting room. This place advertises to shut at 7pm, why? You guys are the problem with our health service! Because of you, people are now going to the hospitals and clogging up that system instead. Turning patients away when you are remaining open for another 1.5 hours is an absolute joke. Not to mention how rude the admin lady is. Within 10 mins of speaking to the admin lady, they called capacity? False advertising of open hours.

Negative experience: My younger sister broke her finger & had to have surgery on it, she visited the Caloundra minor injury clinic to get her finger rewrapped & checked, the doctor & nurse there were extremely rough, impatient & rude. She started crying because 1 they weren’t listening to her & 2 they were hurting her, she then left the hospital in complete tears. I think this is disgusting behaviour, if you can’t listen & do your job properly then leave. She was so very polite to both the nurse and doctor just letting them know she was in pain & if they could be a little more gentle, she had a wire in her finger to fix it & the nurse grabbed the wire because she couldn’t even bother to look at my sisters finger, how can you have nurses & doctors in a hospital that can’t even assist someone with re-bandaging there finger & consoling them when they’re in pain. Please just make it make sense. Cheers

Fantastic experience: I had reason to go to your clinic this morning with a nasty hole in the bottom of my left foot, that I did on some rocks after falling off a paddle board. The staff were all very kind, the wait was not too long. The nurse (Bec) was very thoughtful and professional, she cleaned it out sent me for an X-ray then cleaned it out some more, then noticed that I had severed a tendon. She then made arrangements to see a specialist tomorrow morning. Stitched me up and gave me scripts for antibiotics. Thanks so much for everything.

Fantastic experience: I had reason to attend this centre on a Sunday morning. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. I did not have to wait long to be seen , and the nurse was very thorough with my assessment. Thank you to all staff. I also noted whilst waiting, that Michelle took some goody bags to two young children waiting. What a wonderful idea to give them colouring etc. Well done team - now to have this open 24 hours to take the strain off the local emergency department!

Negative experience: The opthalmology centre has a problem with there system. When you finally see the doctors they are lovely but everyone seems to be given a 12.30 or 1.30 appointment then has to sit for up to 4 hours. I sat for 4 hours and had a 1.30pm app.Then saw the dr for 5 mins. Why bother giving anyone an appointment ?You need to change this system I saw some very distressed people in the waiting room. I dread going back for another app .min 3 hour wait. Why cant you make proper appointments. ?

Positive experience: Ophthalmology outpatient Strengths of the service • Accessible location, free and available parking • Polite staff • Clean facility Weaknesses of the service 1. Poor data privacy You must state your full name, date of birth, contact details and GP at each appointment in the middle of the waiting room for all to hear. I (uncomfortably) overheard the complete medical history of a visually impaired healthcare consumer whose support person read out each question of a detailed healthcare information form that he answered verbally, sitting in the waiting room, with the entire room hearing. He wasn't provided with a private space to complete it. 2. Clinician-centred rather than healthcare consumer-centred service • Consumers spend a long time in the waiting room for short consultations with doctors. • No clinician told me their full name and position, so I could know who was treating me. • No rationale was provided for the seemingly routine eye tests at each appointment—even when I asked—nor were the results provided for each test either verbally or in writing. I overheard two clinicians discussing a patient's request for their test results, and they decided they would tell them to go to an optometrist and have them done again. • Junior and senior doctors spend more time talking about you, in front of you, as if you are an object, than they do talking with you. • The junior doctor said she didn't need to go through an informed consent form with me or allow me to read it before signing for surgery because the senior doctor had already answered some of my questions. I wasn't given a copy of the informed consent form to read later. No information was provided about the qualification and experience of the person who would do the surgery I was consenting to.

Negative experience: I took my three year old daughter there today at around 4pm. She is very sick, won’t stop vomiting and isn’t keeping any food or fluid down and she has a very high temp. We saw a sign that read “2 hour wait” as we walked in. The woman at the front desk asked us if we didn’t read the sign out the front. She then grabbed someone else to say the same thing to us and told us to leave because they won’t be able to see everyone today. There were maybe 10 people in the clinic at the time. And in the 10mins that we were there 2 people went in to see the doctor. They did not even look at my daughter or asked what was wrong. What is wrong with the medical system in the sunshine coast where they send a heavily pregnant woman and a child who is in need away? Do they not have a duty of care anymore? I’m so upset

I wish to express my gratitude to the person on Reception at Ochre GP Clinic Caloundra, on Thursday 30/6/22. Who, when she heard my need, and had no Appointments promptly advised me to attend the Minor injuries & Illnesses Unit at your Hospital. Negative experience: First of all, I'd give Dove Palliative Care "ZERO STARS" if I could, but unfortunately google only have a 1 to 5 star rating. I've had multiple family members and friends be taken in to dove for care and have experienced the absolute worst care- you'd treat a dying animal better! My grandmothers medical issues are currently being IGNORED, dead bodies are being wheeled out the front door, and the nurses and doctors are extremely combative. We are currently trying to have my grandmother removed from their "care", but even that is proving extremely difficult!

Positive experience: Waited for hours despite being early for my appointment. If your dying save yourself the trouble and go straight to the morgue. Groan! Health professionals themselves were just that and polite and caring though. It's just the ratio of supply to demand that is the problem. Here's a thought bubble. How about we ALL pay a health tax to fix the problem.

Fantastic experience: My mum was young My mum fought hard with cancer My mum got the best care in this place. Dove care was beautiful in such a horrifable situation. Dove care gave the family peace (as much as they could) and patient, care, love and dignity. If I was on my way out I would go to this place for not only myself but also for my loved ones. The leave of care from doctors in how they help my mum but also had all the time in the world for us family was amazing. The nurse are earth Angeles Nothing was an issue and they treated my mum beautiful with Recept and dignity. Honest I can not fault this place..
