Fantastic experience: Been coming to family focus dental for a few years now with Dr John Tran - he’s always extremely professional and does a good job with his dental treatments, whether it be a clean or removing a cavity. He always allows time at the end to answer any questions I have and explains any dental terms very clearly! I really recommend Dr Tran :) The facilities and environment are also very nice, clean and tidy and my wait times have never been longer than 5 minutes! The receptionists and managers Melva and Paul are also so lovely and friendly. They’re always very patient when my health fund card has issues and helps me out with it! It’s always a pleasure to chat with them every 6 months Overall an amazingly capable and friendly team!

From the moment I walked in, Paul and Melva at the front desk made me feel genuinely welcomed. The entire team worked together seamlessly to ease my nerves and dispel the anxiety I'd built up over the years from neglecting my dental health. The whole process - from start to finish- was smooth and reassuring. Dr James was incredibly thorough yet gentle, carefully removing years of built-up plaque. He maintained a calm and comforting presence throughout the deeper parts of the clean, which I truly appreciated. His explanations were clear, his advice was practical and he took the time to educate me on proper oral hygiene and the consequences of neglect, many of which I hadn't been aware of before. What stood out the most was how respectful and non-judgemental he was. He welcomed all my questions and offered thoughtful, constructive feedback without a hint of criticism. Fantastic experience: I went to see Dr cha for a filling today. He is very patient, attention to detail. My whole family come to see him for many years already. Really grateful to have him in our community. Also the reception team are always try their best to give you a suitable time for your appointment, they really helpful too. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the Team at Family Focus Dental. Had excruciating pain in my Upper Rear Molar, which turned out to be an infected gum /tooth. They were so thorough in their explanation and consult. Prices were EXACTLY as quoted (and are very competitive and reasonable). Simon was meticulous and highly professional with the extraction and I had no complications. Pain went away immediately! Would definitely return, without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: I started going to this clinic early last year - at this point, I haven't been to the dentist since before COVID due to previous bad experiences. Since then I've referred the rest of my family here. In the past year, between the 4 of us we've had (roughly) 15 visits. During my time here, I've been treated by Dr John, Dr Simon and Dr Li Ann. All have been exceptional. On my first visit I saw Dr John, he was available on short notice and was professional and direct - something that I appreciate when apprehensive about the dentist. My most recent clean was done by Dr Li Ann, she took the extra time to really make sure that my teeth received the additional care that they needed - in my case, I needed a bit more polishing because of coffee stains. Thankyou for your gentleness and precision throughout the procedure. A few months ago, I needed an emergency extraction of a wisdom tooth that was causing me significant pain and discomfort. I got into contact with Paul and Melva at the front desk, they were efficient and understanding of the nature of the painful and delicate situation I was in and were able to squeeze me into an already-tight schedule. That afternoon Dr Simon (assisted by the very professional dental assistant, Chantelle), were able to conduct a seamless extraction of a tooth that was previously considered "too difficult to extract" by a dentist at my previous clinic. Thankyou so much for taking care of me, my family and friends over this past year. I appreciate the experiences that I've had here and now (surprisingly) look forward to my future dental visits. :)

Negative experience: I am truly disappointed with the quality of work . I have had to have my crown done twice and it still isn't right. I cannot eat on the tooth and it's been months now. I am hesitant to go back because they tried to charge me twice for the same tooth and I wasn't happy. It's definitely upsetting as I now have to find a dentist to fix the problem that I've already paid for.

Fantastic experience: Happy with Dr Simon Cha's treatment. He diagnosed it right, neat and clean, not too costly, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a prevailing condition, for which I initially consulted Wentworthville Medical and Dental , my experience wasn't great. I was a bit skeptical to consult another dentist. Its my first visit to this dentist, eventhough I've been commuting this route in the past several years. The cost, was ofcourse after they deducted some amount, what they call discount. If they wouldn't have done that, then its definitely very expensive.

Fantastic experience: Wanna rate 1000 out of 10 for my experience at Family Focus Dental today! Dr John Tran is sooooooo professional, patient and supportive that helped me fix my decayed teeth without any uncomfortable feelings! He constantly asked me to check if everything was fine during the treatment and the filling he did was perfect and functioning well! My jaw doesn’t work well so I can’t open it as wide as I need, which made the treatment harder to conduct. But he constantly encouraged me and helped me relax my jaw occasionally, which really released my stress. Even though it’s the last working day of this year and I was the last patient, he did it carefully and explained everything in details patiently to make sure that I understood. He has changed my impression of visiting a dentist completely. Please do come to visit him if you need dental treatments! Also, all the staff there are nice and friendly. They worked efficiently to help me with everything, eg appointments and other questions. Thank you so much for your support and help!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Like most people I am afraid of the dentist. My dentist closed down and I needed to find a new one. I did a lot of research and asked friends, colleagues and social media. I wanted a practice that was local, reasonably priced and caring (for those of us scaredies). I was recommended this surgery by a friend and after researching made a booking. I'm so glad I did. I selected Dr Li Ann based on her profile & experience. Dr Li Ann was very gentle, explained all the processes, what was happening, what needed to be done and even took the time to show me my xrays, before and after. So not just a money grab, you need fillings etc. Even the dental assistants did a great job! Normally I end up with water everywhere but Chantelle was so great! The receptionist was very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. She's an asset to the practice. I've found my new practice and dentist :)

Positive experience: My 3-star rating is based on my experience of visiting Family Focus Dental Care and my interaction with the reception staff. I made a booking through their online system with an understanding that it would be 1-hour slot as I wanted to extract a molar tooth which had been through a root canal treatment earlier on (2-years ago at a different Practice). The dentist clearly identified that the earlier root canal wasn't done properly and suggested a proper root canal treatment with a 50% probability of saving it or go with an extraction. I opted for extraction. Now, a single extraction in my case was quoted at $365 with my private dental cover contributing to about 50% of it. The initial consultation + x-ray + photos were covered by my dental insurance. Now, why they lose 2-stars? The online booking system does not clearly tell you the duration of slot thereby it is advisable to call the reception and book an appointment over the phone. They can certainly improve the booking system to clearly indicate the time-slot that the patient is booking for. The extraction cost is quite exorbitant. I got my tooth extracted at a different Practice in the 5 km radius at about 44% of the quoted extraction cost. This was a major letdown for me as I believe extraction costs shouldn't vary that much in these suburbs. This review is more of a feedback to the management and to prospective clients.

Fantastic experience: I first visited Family Focus to get my wisdom tooth taken out that. I was a little nervous as I’m not a fan of any dental procedures and also because this was my first time at Family Focus. However, the nervousness quickly disappeared after I had my first consultation with Dr Cha. He explained to me in detail about what needed to be done and I didn’t feel like there was any sort of pressure to commit to something that I wasn’t comfortable with. The procedure went smoothly and I was extremely happy with the little swelling after. The reception team are lovely to communicate with and are super responsive with any changes that you need. So glad to have found my new dentist and would recommend anyone that’s looking to change, to visit Family Focus.

Fantastic experience: My 10 year old son had to have 2 baby teeth extracted, Dr Ooi was so gentle and and considerate when she was doing the procedure that whenever he tells people about his experience he adds in that she is a really good Dentist, I don't think you could have much higher praise than a 10 year old that thinks your a good Dentist after having teeth pulled. Can't recommend her highly enough!

And this is the first time I can understand all problems and solutions of my teeth. Because we are not pretty good at English, so we can not 100% understand the dentists before. Negative experience: Family focus dentist (Dr. Simon Cha) is more interested in making money once he get to know that you are holding the private health insurance coverage. During the general teeth consultation visit for my 6 year old son, instead of mentioning the issues upfront to me, he started his teeth clean up and took 2 X-rays. Once the X-rays were done , then dr explains a bit about the X-ray , I being a novice in X-rays details, so asked few questions to him and he was showing lots of resistance is answering my queries. It seems that doctor was just interested in closing his clinic and start his weekend but he was getting irritated with my queries. I being mother have full rights to ask queries about my son teeth health. And same thing happened with my husband, he took 3 x-rays without even telling us that OPG ( very costly) can be covered in my Medicare coverage. Even he didn’t explained the x-ray in detail to us and he was feeling irritated in explaining about our queries as doctor was more interested in looking forward for his next appointments and just want us to move-on without getting proper treatment. We went to this clinic considering the name of dentist is really family focused but I really got disheartened on seeing the behaviour of staff and doctor. I would not suggest anyone to go in this clinic.

Fantastic experience: A very friendly and professional dental clinic in the neighbourhood. The dentist I saw was very thorough with my clean (believe me, I've been to many dentists in my life so I know a good dentist when I see one) and took me out of pain on the same day with root canal at a very reasonable price. I was so happy to save my tooth that was already quite wobbly from the infection! Highly recommend the whole team here.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cha is a very reliable, helpful and thorough family dentist. My wife and I have never had a regular family dentist, but after our friend recommended us to see Dr. Cha, we decided to go and have been going for the last 2 years and have never looked back. No one really LIKES to go to the dentist but at least he makes visiting much more bearable. Side story: We actually tried a different dentist just before this Dr. Cha and the whole experience was quite different - 10-15 mins rushed appointment, very brief explanations and not much empathy (especially if you get delivered some unpleasant news about your teeth!). Dr Cha was much better: He’s very thorough, makes sure you’re ok at all times during the treatment, and he takes the time to explain things about your teeth - you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. We couldn’t recommend him more; give them a try. The clinic is also the whole package: it’s clean, the staff are friendly, polite and fast and it’s just a nice overall experience. We’re very happy to have found a place we can go to regularly!

Fantastic experience: Dr Cha has been my family dentist for the last 5-6 years. He is very gentle and meticulous with everything that he does. He is also very good with children. I have a 4 year old daughter who has been having regular dental visits since she was 3 years old. He is very patient and has managed to gain her trust. She looks forward to her dental visits now. The other staff members at the practice are also very helpful and polite. We enjoy going to the dentist!
