Negative experience: Honestly can't have a worse dental experience, absolutely traumatizing. Firstly, almost every appointment in the afternoon is 20mins - 1 hour wait. I have waited an hour before for an appointment that lasted 20 mins, this shows little respect for people's time. Secondly, there was no clear treatment plan or cost transparency. I started a root canal here, and after spending AUD1900+ one canal could not be located and Dr Mena decided I need to see a specialist - which is not uncommon. Afterwards, I consulted different dentist as well as endodontist whom all questioned whether such an invasive procedure as root canal is even needed. But that's fine, different dentist can have different opinions and take. The most frustrating part is how I was being treated there. All request for X-ray copies, invoices and referrals take at least 2 weeks+ and constant chasing on phone calls to get. During appointment, when i describe my pain, Dr Mena would use words like "don't overthink" , "you are getting ahead of yourself", "don't make assumptions", dismissive of patient's conditions and feelings. Constant sighing during procedure, indicating a clear lack of professionism. Not to mention I emailed to ask for my deposit back and still heard nothing from the clinic. This experience completely traumatized me and I hope no one else should have to go through that.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to a few different dentist now in my life times but Molly got to be one of the most friendly and caring dentist I ever met. She takes care of my concerns and care for my teeth well-being. I only seen her twice now.

Fantastic experience: After 19 years with the same dentist who decide to suddenly retire, I was in need of a new one. I didn’t relish the search, but I decided to try Waterloo Dental. What a great decision this was. From the warm welcome of the reception staff to the professionalism, friendliness and exceptional dentistry of Dr Mena Shehata. I had 3 crowns fitted over a few weeks. The equipment used was of the very highest quality and the workmanship was first class. To add a cherry on the (sugar free) cake, the team at Waterloo Dental are the nicest bunch! I left there with a smile on my face each time and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. HIGHLY recommended.

I've been going there for years without leaving a review, but now I really have to leave one! Because it's always a good experience! The staff is always friendly and polite and Dr.Mena is an expert and dedicated dentist with great attention to details, able to give friendly and professional advice at every visit, helping maintaining my health and smile at their best. Fantastic experience: I called Waterloo dental needing an urgent repair to my front tooth denture. I was seen quickly and the issue was resolved the next morning. I didn’t have to walk around with a front tooth missing for any significant amount of time and this meant so much to me. From the first time I met the team, I was treated politely and with dignity and respect. Dr Mena responded compassionately to my issue, he made me feel at ease and gave me endless amounts of reassurance. At the time, I really needed it. There is a shared passion for improving the smiles of their customers which is displayed through the technology that is at hand within the practice. I have since had a full smile makeover. I have gone from wearing dentures every day to wearing what feels to me, to be a very natural looking, million dollar smile. I had such a challenging case. Years of not caring for my teeth as an adolescent, plus multiple injuries, meant I had many missing teeth and a mouth full of fillings. Dr Mena and his team worked so hard to give me the smile I have always deserved. It’s impossible to put into words how grateful I am. Impossible to describe the feeling I get every morning when I look at my smile in the mirror. My life has been drastically changed for the better. I have spent a lot of time in that dentist chair over the past few months and every single time I was made to feel as comfortable as possible. I knew I was in safe hands and I trust Dr Mena implicitly. Fantastic experience: The best dental practice I’ve been to in Sydney. Dr Mena is a warm and a patient man who explains my procedures in detail to me. Shows me photos etc and discuss what’s best for me. He does what’s need to be done and nothing extra. I’ve got really bad anxiety going to the dentist but with him, I feel at ease. He constantly checks if I’m doing alright. He has also been superb with my kids. Really good with easing them into the chair and gives them a fun experience at the dentist. Courtney has also been great! Services with a smile and is great with follow up calls, appointments. Also, the whole ambiance is just amazing. I get to relax on a massage chair before my appointments and to admire the beautiful fishes in the tanks! Highly recommended! My family loves going there!

Negative experience: Came here at 9:30am on a Wednesday, within their opening hours, but were shut. Called the number on the door & I rang out to answering machine. Not worth the trip here ‍♂️

Fantastic experience: This is a great practice! I've been coming here for a couple of years and satisfied with the experiences. Dr Mena explains things well and gives you all the details for the patient to make an informed decision. The clinic is modern and professional. The receptionist Courtney is also fantastic and patiently explains the invoice and health insurance items. If there's any delays to the appointment they text you ahead of time, usually there is very little waiting period upon arrival.

Negative experience: The first time i came in they had me waited for more than 40 mins，i was really upset but i understand how hard it is to run a business so said it to myself maybe this is a accident. However this is the second time i came in，guess what，waited more than 40 mins. To be fair the receptionist is not welcoming at all，the the dentist Mr Mena seems to think there is no problem and the customers have all the time in the world and should wait forever. I hope he understands that everyone treats their work srsly not just him，and there should not be any excuses getting customer to wait for nearly one hour. My appointment was at 7 and i came in 6:50 btw. I always show up early because i value and respect other people's time.

Dr Mena has hand held my children and I throughout the years with everything from wonderful cleans, fillings and teeth whitening to root canal. Dr Mena and his staff are experienced and show real care for their clients - through their gentle approach and post appointment continued care. Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency appointment to treat dry socket. I was so nervous due to the excruciating pain but Dr Mena was so gentle & lovely. His assistant & receptionist were also lovely. For anyone apprehensive about visiting a dentist, I highly recommend Dr Mena.

Fantastic experience: I do not like going to the dentist for any reason. Generally going to the dentist is an anxiety inducing event that drains my wallet and leaves me emotionally wrecked. That being said, Dr Shehata is a proper master of his craft. He does an exceptional job at explaining your dental health and answering the questions that spring from that. Dr. Shehata replaced a filling for me today. The process was quick and painless. In showing me the after pictures, I would have never guessed that any work had been done to the tooth in question. The contours of the filling blended in seamlessly with the rest of the structure of the tooth. Additionally, the team that supports Dr. Shehata is top notch. They are friendly, professional and efficient. I am so relieved that I've found the group of professionals at Waterloo Dental to ensure my teeth last me the rest of my life.

Negative experience: Be carefull! I cannot recommend Doctor Mena, because he do jobs in your mouth without asking if you are agree and without inform you the cost of that treatment, I found that he do this, to try to take out more money from your insurance and in the end you will need to pay more out of pocket. I went there for an implant and I asked him how much was the total cost including everything becuase my insurance just cover around $500 and I need to pay a lot of money out of pocket so he knows that my priority was paying the implant, becuse I said it to him. One day he just told me "today we are going to do a clean" without informed me that It wasn't incluided in the total cost of the implant and in the end when I paid the total amount he charge me extra the cleaning around $350 more and he mentioned to me that I was calling and I asked for this treatment and it wasn't true....it is why I said be carefull.. he lies in your face. Also, after this disappointed moment I never get back there and I need to find another place to Finnish my implant and I went to 2 different places, and in both places they advised me that I need more bond around the implant becuase I will lost the implant easily and is why I have very big hold between implant and gum and every time that I eat many food get stock there. The anothers doctors advised that It has to be done from the beginning and Doctor Mina do my implant without advise me about this. This makes me very disappointed with this service. Now I need to find someone to do the bond for me to solve this issue and I have to pay more money.

Fantastic experience: Dr Shehata and his team at Waterloo Dental are excellent. His knowledge, professionalism and overall care is probably the best I've had from any practitioner. The x-ray, screen and clean was thorough and done with no pain. The double wisdom teeth removal was exceptional (fast, very minimal discomfort, and each tooth removed in whole in a swoop without the yanking about). His deep understanding of dental science also allowed me as a patient to make informed decisions about my oral health and cosmetics. I recommend this practice if you're after a new dental clinic.

Negative experience: 30min wait. $320 to repair chipped tooth. Lasted two weeks.

Fantastic experience: Just had a new patient cleaning/checkup, great experience. All of the staff were friendly and professional. The practice looked spotless. Dr. Mena answered all of my questions thuroughly and took the time to get to know what was important to me. He seemed very knowledgeable and skilled. I'll be switching my whole family to his practice. It's nice to know that I have my oral health sorted and in good hands. -Had another cleaning done, as well as a splint made for night grinding. All great experiences. Still highly recomend this dentist. I won't go anywhere else.

Negative experience: My review clearly does not represent the standards this clinic offers based on the reviews left here, however I need to share my experience, particularly for Dr Mena so there is no repeat of what I experienced. I’m relatively new to the Waterloo area, and after considerable research online I decided to visit Waterloo dental to be my future go to dental clinic. My appointment was at 8:15am. I waited in the waiting area for 30mins, with no communication. I was taken in to be seen by Dr Mena at 8:45am. No apology received regarding the 30min delay. I would have appreciated to be notified early, or during the time I was waiting so that I can do other things in the meantime. I was there for a checkup and clean, the entire process felt rushed, with the assistant having to leave halfway to answer phone calls. I don’t doubt the quality of Dr Mena’s work, however i would have thought more effort would be invested in the initial visit given I was a new patient. I then sat down with Dr Mena to sort out the invoice at which I expressed my negative experience. I appreciated the fact Dr Mena listened and acknowledged what happened, which was due to them being short staffed. At that point, I had decided I would make an appointment for a second visit and understood this may have been an odd case. I asked Dr Mena how much the service was (check-up, clean & X-ray) and he said $250, the same amount I was quoted at the time I booked the appointment, which was ok by me. I then checked my health fund account while sitting down and noticed $425 was claimed and $396 paid by my Heath fund. I then queried this with Dr Mena before leaving and his response was it is a different price if you claim through a health fund compared to someone that doesn’t have cover. This makes no sense to me. I challenged this and he suggested he refunds the health fund and I make a personal payment if I want the $250 price. I understand you over claim to make it a gap free payment for your clients, which is ok. However I told you that my health fund covers 90%. You cannot charge a 90% funded health fund the same amount as what you charge a 60% funded health fund. You needed to claim $278 (not $425) in order to get the $250 fee. You should have a fixed amount you charge for the service regardless of where the payment is coming from, there is no need for my health fund to pay $396 for the service I received. It seemed very shady and dishonest. You need to improve communication with your clients, and be open and honest. I won’t be back!

Negative experience: Let me first start by saying i'm not one for leaving bad reviews but such as the expense that comes with dental work i feel obliged to have my input and try to give you guys an idea on which dentist to choose . The dental work i had was Porcelain Crowns on the front 4 teeth, they have been on around 6 months now and i've had, lets say a few problems from chips, roughness and imbalance. I can't speak highly enough of the owner and staff for their welcoming attitude and the personal treatment received, they really go above and beyond. This is why i've been holding off writing this review. Overall i'm disappointed with the work that has been done, especially after spending a large sum of money.

Negative experience: From a treatment pov Damian has been great! However, there is a gap in fee structure transparency. Just finished 2 out of 3 stage treatment (c.1500$ so far), to be told that to sit the 3rd stage i would be required to pay a $200 deposit that would be offset against the next treatment. This was never communicated; first stage or second, so i as initially taken back. When questioned about whether or not this should be something that is communicated from the offset, the Dentist has a clear view that this is not something that a customer needs to be aware of. I disagree. I have paid the deposit, as i want to get the treatment over and done with. Luckily i am in a position to do so, there is a lot of people out there that don't have disposable income and a live week by week. So Just be mindful. If it wasn't for the lack of transparency, it would be a five star review !

Fantastic experience: Im super picky when it’s comes to my dentist, hygiene, service and most importantly knowledge and skills because my smile is on my head and I can’t imagine anything worse then bad breath or teeth. Insert Mena and the team, seriously wow. Some dentists nowadays are just about cash and others you find lack the care. Mena’ attention to detail in his clinic but also having the latest gadgets and smoothest equipment has made me look forward to my regular cleans. He also solved a mouth ulcer problem that I’ve had for over 15 years. Not just a dentist but a doctor who gives a damn. Highly recommend him and his knowledgable team.

Fantastic experience: If i could more put more than 5 starts I do it. I was very lucky to find Dr Mena who detected some cavities that were missed by another dentist I saw this week. So, this second dentist advice from Dr Mena was very helpful : not only the cavities, he also detected another disease which could result in losing my teeth if I didn’t see Dr Mena. Dr Mena is very professional : very good eye, good into details and check every single side of each tooth and he’s very honest in terms of treatment options

I took my 2 boys today for their first official check up (3.5 and 2 years old) and Dr Mena was fantastic with them! Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending this practice for a few years now and have always had a very professional and knowledgeable experience and the last few times I feel like they have even stepped it up, the practice is up to date with the latest technology and the staff are very knowledgeable and know how to get to the point fast and effectively, I live in the Sutherland shire and travel all the way to the practice when needed they have worked around my schedule even though they’re always booked, I recommend them and thank the team for such a swift and enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: I really recommend Dr. Meana and his team for many reasons. He is really good with kids. My kids’ first dental app were with him where they were 2 YO. I have recommend him to different mums and all have thanked me and have continued taking the children with him. Fantastic experience: What a great experience! Very rare to find such friendly and professional bedside manner. They went above and beyond. My partner's porcelain veneer had come off at a very inconvenient time(when does it not :)) and needed to be fixed promptly as she needed to be on set at the early hours the following morning. They made a time available for her that evening and on arrival we were made to feel completely at home. The staff were caring and the dentist did everything to make my partner feel completely comfortable. He even stayed past closing time(as we were the last patients of the evening) to answer my questions and satiate my curiosity about certain procedures. What a champion! I cannot recommend them more highly. They even called us the next morning to see how everything was. Thank you so much guys

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Mena a few weeks ago based on the good reviews here. I have had a couple of filling since and my wisdom teeth out. Amazing staff and practice couldn’t be happier and I have recommended him to family and friends.

Negative experience: My colleague went for a filling replacement and ended up with 1.5 hrs treatment. All those times she opened her jaw and causing her sore and pain, unable to work for couple of days. Unbelievable!! Never trust google review again.

The staff is very nice and friendly. a good way to not be scared by beeing there. And they have a massage chair that chanhe ly life ! I highly recommend this dental place !
