Fantastic experience: I have not been to a dentist for a long time due to the fear of pain and sensitivity. I had a clean with Maddison today and she was phenomenal!! She was gentle, yet thorough and had it all done in a timely manner. She was very aware of my body language to tell if I was feeling comfortable or just being brave. I can’t thank them enough and I’ve already booked for a follow-up early next year!!

I came to Platinum Dental in intense chronic pain from TMJ-related jaw issues, and I truly couldn’t have asked for better care. Huw Morgan, my dental surgeon, was incredibly attentive and supportive throughout the entire process. He not only took the time to fully understand what I was going through, but he went above and beyond to help manage my pain while we worked on a long-term solution. When my pain became unbearable while waiting for my custom night splint, Huw didn’t hesitate — he made me an interim in-splint to give me relief in the meantime. That level of compassion and responsiveness is something I’ll never forget. The front desk team — Helen, Maddy, and Lauren also deserve huge recognition. Every time I called, often in pain and overwhelmed, they answered with such warmth, patience, and a genuine “we’ve got you” attitude. Their kindness made every visit feel a little lighter and reminded me that I wasn’t alone in managing this. I cannot recommend Platinum Dental more highly, not just for their professionalism and skill, but for the way they truly care. If you’re looking for a team who will listen, act, and support you every step of the way, this is the place.

Fantastic experience: My daughter needed an emergency appt to fix the wire in her braces whilst holidaying. These guys got her in within the hour and were so amazing and caring! Highly recommend supporting this great business.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has had plenty of dental trauma in their life, I have to say Platinum Dental have wiped all of that away. I booked an appointment to get a filling done (which was pointed out by another practice and I didn't wish to go back), and the team there were above and beyond amazing, approachable and kind. Maddi walked me through the entire process, explained what she was doing every step of the way and was so accommodating. Michelle was assisting in the appointment, and they worked so well as a team. I didn't feel any pain or discomfort, and knew exactly what was going on the entire time. The reception team; Madeline and Lauren, were also a stand out, super welcoming and friendly. Even Huw; one of the other dentists. Dropped in and said a quick hello and checked in. Again super friendly and sincere. I cannot recommend this practice enough. You can just tell they truly love what they do and they have a very positive and healthy work place.

Deb and I booked in with Platinum Dental and both of us saw Calvin, we were extremely happy with the care, quality of service, and friendliness of all the staff. Calvin is the certainly the best dentist I've been too and both Deb and I walked out feeling great, which is a strange thing to say about a visit to the dentist!

Fantastic experience: Dr Victoria Lane and her team are so welcoming. I recently visited to get a venear/crown to cover a discoloured tooth from root canal performed years ago. I have always been self conscious of this tooth especially in photos. Dr Victoria and her team were very prompt with a short time frame to fit me in. They also organised a colour match appointment in Newcastle for the best result. I can't thank them enough for not only making me feel more confident but going out of their way to get it all sorted. Such a great team from reception to chair side. Dentists are not particularly a place people like to go. I would 100% go back for any treatments and refer friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I had a cracked tooth extracted on Wednesday last. No problem whatsoever for Elizabeth. Even had a phone call the next morning to see how I was. What a great practice. They will get all my dental work in future. Nice to be in the hands of professionals!

Negative experience: My wife rang asking for a toothache emergency appointment. The receptionists said that no dentist is available (weekday, morning: not a weekend, not after hours) and suggested to call next morning. She was only able to arrange for an Oral Health Therapist to have a look. This is not a professional medical service we would expect from a place clearly advertising providing: "emergency dentist appointment for a variety of urgent dental issues."

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Platinum Dental more, I first saw Huw a few years ago and required major work Huw made a huge effort to ensure I was comfortable as I was rather nervous about the work required. Friendly, Personable and very professional.

Fantastic experience: Before I start, if I could give more stars I would! Let me also note, I am extreamly fussy, have a slight dental phobia and I also have an extensive dental history. We've only moved to the bay 6 months ago and I reluctantly left our fabulous family dentist we had for many years, I was nervous about finding another great dentist. Why was this even the case?! From the moment I rang and made a call, I felt at ease. As soon as I stepped in the door, I knew I was part of the platnium dental family. We are a family of 6, includong 4 kids ages 3 to 13, each of us have had a positive experience- professional, caring, friendly and the up most wonderful patient care I have ever come across. Fantastic experience: I found Dr. Huw Morgan at Platinum Dental through a friend who had just had crowns fitted to her top front teeth to enhance her smile. I also wanted a better smile as my top front teeth had worn. Now I can’t help smiling as Dr. Huw has fitted crowns and the difference is amazing. He is the best Dentist and he and his staff are so caring. He explained each step of the process on my first visit. I also have 4 missing lower molars so Dr. Huw referred me to a Maxillofacial Surgeon, in Newcastle, for dental implants. The implant process commenced in January and I am now waiting for Dr. Huw to fit the crowns in about 4 months. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this dentistry since moving to Nelson Bay and am so glad I did. The staff are all super friendly and professional and the facilities are bright and clean. They’re also very good with kids. This week I had a new crown fitted by Victoria and I am honestly blown away by how easy and professional they did this. The process was seamless and the crown is absolutely perfect! They even managed to avoid using anaesthetics unnecessarily and I was in no discomfort at all. Well done to the whole team, you should be proud of the work you do and how well you treat your customers.

Fantastic experience: If you are a bit nervous about the dentist definately give platinum a try, I don't believe a more gentle and caring dentist exists. I'm probably more extreme on the nerves side, it had been almost a decade since I had seen a dentist. I'd tried a few times but ended up getting so panicked I just gave up. The approach Dr Hew took was so different to any dentist I had seen, we had a small apt where he took some photos and discussed what it was that made me fear dentists so much. He then came up with a game plan to minimise these things. Of course I was still nervous but far less so than I have been for an appointment EVER. He was so gentle and made sure I was ok the entire time. I can't recommend highly enough - platinum dental have probably saved my teeth as I genuinely don't think I would have been able to visit a dentist if it wasn't for dr hew and his amazing team. Fantastic experience: Quite a few years ago, with a well entrenched dental phobia and in desperate need of a dentist, I was fortunate to come across Dr Hew Morgan! With heightened anxiety I met Hew and explained my dentistry history along with my shame and embarrassment! Fantastic experience: I was fortunate enough to come across Dr Huw Morgan at another practice and have since followed him to Platinum Dental along with most of my friends. Fantastic experience: Being a white nuckle dental patient for all my life I'm 67, I can't recommend Huw Morgan at Platinum Dental, Nelson Bay highly enough. I've had a tooth extraction & four upper front teeth crowned recently. I arrived absolutely petrified & left with a smile on my face. Huw puts you at ease he is so caring, understanding & explains everything to you. I haven't smiled in 10years & now I can thanks to Huw.The whole team are exceptional, friendly & caring it's like a big happy family, from reception through to the Dental chair.

I had been putting off the inevitable and getting some advice on how to proceed with a broken tooth, wisdom teeth, care for existing fillings and manage any decay. Victoria was calming and informative as to what she was about to do and when. I was nervous prior to the appointment and felt that Victoria was able to make me comfortable which made for the best dentist visit to date. I came away with a plan to address everything and without being made to feel any guilt or shame about my inaction. Would highly recommend Platinum Dental.

I enjoy going and love the atmosphere accompanied by the skilled and caring team. I have visited both Dr Huw Morgan & Dr Victoria Lane in the past. Both are very professional and communicate my dental status extremely well, easing any worries about future endeavors to do with my teeth. I trust in them %100 and will continue to visit them for many years to come.

During both a wisdom tooth extraction a few months ago and again today, the fitting of a crown, Dr Victoria made sure I was comfortable and at ease as she explained the process throughout the entire procedure. Fantastic experience: If you don’t love going to the dentist it’s because you don’t go to platinum dental! I was previously terrified of the dentist but after spending some time with Huw Morgan my fears are gone, I crazily enough enjoy going to the dentist now. I can’t wait to show my daughter how amazing going to the dentist is and start her off with a healthy view of oral care.
