Negative experience: The dentist I had didn’t talk me through any of my experience. 6 local anaesthetic needles in my mouth without saying where they were going or anything. I was traumatised after this and was shaking for the remainder of my appointment. Extremely uncomfortable

Having visited Dr. Deevya at her previous locations, I can confidently say that Smile Dental at Carindale stands out as one of the most pleasant. The staff members are consistently friendly and provide excellent assistance. For patients with private insurance, they are diligent in ensuring minimal out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, they clearly communicate the expected charges beforehand, allowing for informed decisions. In my experience, Smile Dental at Carindale is among the best dental practices I have visited.

Negative experience: These dentists are crooks and won't refund my money. They organised a direct debit payment plan to pay for my services. They kept taking money from my account and wouldn't refund the credit I had with them. I have not come across any business that does this.

Negative experience: Unprofessional appointment management. After leaving my lunch early to make it here and sitting in the waiting room for 5 minutes, told me they didn't have time to complete a dental clean but would still get paid for a wisdom consult if I wanted.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental appointment last week for a general clean and wisdom tooth consult. The staff were so friendly, it felt welcoming even just sitting and waiting. The dentist was so friendly and professional, talked me through the entire process and checked i understood. My dentist had time and was nice enough to take my wisdom tooth out in the same appointment. Then I had trouble with MediBank and the receptionist was nice and helped me with the app and chatted while I was figuring it out. 10/10 recommend.

While on the dentist’s chair, I always had the pleasure of being attended to by Amy. She is such a detailed and professional Dentist! I never an unpleasant or uncomfortable experience with Amy, even for elaborate dental procedures. Amy always carefully explained all procedures, before commencing work and did great work 100% of the time. I won’t go anywhere else!

Negative experience: Well had confirmation of appointment with preferred dentist I wanted to see, though upon reaching there was told I was booked with another Dr. Well the staff did even show any courtesy to explain. At the end I have to walk away. Well that was very poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Dr Jenny was the dentist I wish I had had when I was young decades ago and developed a terror of dentists from the old ex-Army men with huge bear sized hands jammed into a mouth, with no thought of how the patient felt. This was completely not like that. A dentist who was concerned about the patient’s experience, who explained what was happening, who showed empathy and professionalism. And I came away with a resolution and informed about how to move into the future of my issues.

Positive experience: Do not use this dentist if you care about professionalism and customer service. Our family had the worst experience with Manager Bek yesterday at Carindale. My partner has been suffering tooth aches every day for the past week. We searched online for a dentist that had payment plans and found 1300SMILES Carindale. We made a booking and left it until the day. I myself work fulltime and my partner cares for our 2 year old son. I took time off work to drive my partner to this appointment but we were 10-15 minutes late due to finding parking and then the dentist inside the mall. On arrival we were greeted by Bek who quickly told us our appointment was gone. She then told us how much time they spent harassing us for confirmation and that harassing via phone call is normal practice for them. She then asked if the appointment was for a 1 year old. The incorrect DOB had been entered and made the booking for a 4 month old baby. Common sense should tell you the appointment is not for a 4 month baby, whether that was our error or a website error we don’t know but she spent a lot of time clarifying even after she was told it wasn’t for a baby. I asked why it had the DOB wrong, her response was “You made the booking, not me” We could see she was upset with our time efficiency and when given the chance we apologised. Bek insisted she check for availability and book us in to accommodate. We were fine with this and happily waited. Whilst my partner was in with the dentist I was approached by Bek who asked if we had a government voucher. I advised no. Bek shrugged and went on with her duties. I had no idea what she was talking about and had to ask questions to get the information. Our experience here wasn’t going great but this was good news. We were prepared to spend thousands but can apply for this grant now that we know about it. I said I'd let people know so people like us who know nothing will also be aware. Bek quickly advised me not to do this because I would crash the government system with dishonest people who don’t need emergency dental. I was immediately offended. I don't understand why she assumed that meant I would refer dishonest people and then crash the system and leave no funds for genuine people who need emergency dental. Those were the words coming out of her mouth. My understanding is the government decides who’s eligible not me and certainly not Manager Bek. I’m in shock and my passion towards customer service and treating people with respect and equality kicked in. I told Bek her advice was disgusting and her customer service even worse. My 2 year old son and I patiently waited. Bek continued to speak to me about crashing the system even after being told to leave us be. I then thought it was appropriate to let Bek know I am employed by a business and have 15+ years experience in customer service. I know what to expect and Bek you don’t have it. Beks customer service was degrading, hurtful and disrespectful to our family. My partner came out of his appointment and I asked the dentist if I could speak to the Manager. Bek smiled and said “that’s me" I requested details for the person who manages her. She laughed and told me she would write the mobile number down when she finished taking our money for the consultation. After she took our money she refused to provide any manager details and threatened me with the police. She yelled at my partner to get me out of there. I called for the dentist to come back so I could get managers details but no one had them so we left. While standing outside the door I said I'd write a review about our experience with her and 1300SMILES. She will be remembered for this experience and she screamed “no one will ever remember you". Regional Manager Rachel called my partner and asked him to leave me at home for his next appointment. We called back, put our review online and sent further emails but no response. We emailed Marketing manager Kylie Mara who responded very quickly with an apology and a full refund. Due to this we update from 1 star to 3 stars. Thank you Kylie.

Fantastic experience: Had heard of this dental place from some friends and figured i would give them a go with my tooth giving me grief. The young lad on the phone was the most helpful and polite i have experienced. i was told i had a trainee but you wouldnt have known as both assistants and the dentist were very professional and helpful. its been several weeks and still no pain, highly recommend

Negative experience: Completely incompetent. Receptionists always sitting on their phones whilst a customer is present. Dentists lack care & respect for their clients and the work I've had previously to my teeth needs to be fixed at another dental practice as the work is ineffective, due to a lack of care and probably knowledge as well. Phone manner is also appalling. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Negative experience: Toothache prompted a visit. Left with toothache and told to go somewhere else $200 lighter. Going somewhere else tomorrow who say they can at least relieve the pain while a treatment plan is worked out. Just felt like I was there so they could earn commission from my referral on to their “recommended endodontist” Update: I received a really great treatment the following day in Coorparoo and the Toothache was solved enough that I could sleep again. I spoke with the manager at 1300 Smiles and asked for a refund. They offered a free consult and clean instead, no thank you.

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend this dental clinic, I've been a regular patient but my experience isn't good: After filling my tooth, it breaks down the same day, this happened 2 time then I needed crowns to be done. Missing one of the root canals after 3 sessions and lots of x rays. Getting uneven permanent fillings.

On my resent visit for check ups, the Dentist treated myself and my three children thoroughly and with honesty. I left feeling we were in good hands.
