Negative experience: Very disappointed with Dr Phung Tran service. This clinic are old fashion , old equipment, hygiene wasn’t meet standards. Not recommend, find other place if you don’t want to ruin your smile Update : they said they didn’t find me in the record , honestly the receptionist man is horrible and act like dentist but he wasn’t . The clinic are super outdated with old dental chair , small room and not cheap for treatment compare to other dentist I have been in Footscray. They weren’t busy

Negative experience: I would like to share my story, its first time Visited on 15th march was in intense pain due to toothache gum infections. The fact is I asked to extract 2 teeth which is severe decay beyond repair. But The dentist who served me recommended one of the teeths (bottomside)can still be fixed by root treatment which will costs around $ 2500. And the other teeth(topside) is more complex to extract can not be done. During the xray, the top scan teeth was alright but the bottom scan teeth i had to hold with finger to scan it. It seems quite a risk of radiation. I did not given the xray photo to look at for further explanations..all was just the dentist recommendations without knowing my excruciating pain. All she did was sealed the bottom side teeth and booked me in for the 18th root treatment ASAP. I requested for a medical certificate she just forgot all about it. it was totally dissapointing experience. Overall it's a ripped off $$$$

That said, we would like to clarify a few points regarding your concerns.
You initially presented with pain, we examine your concern and explain what was required and the risks. Our priority was to relieve your discomfort. We did so by prescribing medication and draining the pus. Following that, we arranged a follow-up appointment for you to begin treatment, which you understood and agreed to.
Regarding pricing, we want to clarify that the cost of treatment is $1,500, not $2,500, as stated in your review. We maintain transparency in our pricing and are always happy to provide a breakdown of costs to avoid misunderstandings.
As for your concern about X-rays, we completely understand your caution. However, we follow strict regulations, and the radiation exposure from dental X-rays is minimal and well within safe limits. Your safety is always our priority. We also attempted to send your medical certificate via email, but you declined. Please know that we have no issue sending X-ray records via email if that is your preference.
Lastly, our approach to treatment is always focused on preserving your teeth whenever possible. Extraction is a last resort, and we explore all available options before recommending it.

Negative experience: I had me tooth broken when I came and what she did was put a glue on my broken tooth and sticked it back.NO ANY FILE it’s 5 minutes process. Cost $250. However she said non guaranteed if 2 DAY-3 DAY it may broken Moreover, i came soon 1 hour and their receptionist asked me to stay there and wait although i had said that I just wanted to get something for my stomach. Finally i waited for more than 1 hour

Negative experience: I just got a filling and my face was swollen and I had to go to the hospital. I went to talk to them and they shirked their responsibilities, looked down on our international students, and looked down on me because I was young and ignorant. Such a facility should be closed down and not operate anymore. They are not educated but they talk irresponsibly and have no respect for others from the owner to the staff, so I don't think anyone should go there to get a filling and bring disaster upon themselves.

We communicated the gap payment arrangement clearly, and it's unreasonable to assume otherwise without verifying. The gap payment terms are directly between you and the issuer and are based on the policy you established. We hope this clarification is helpful for future reference.
Negative experience: As a patient, I was quite taken aback at the fact that all of their instruments were un-packaged and left in a box on the desk. As somebody who knows the basics of equipment storage, this left me not wanting to come back again. The service was undeniably good so I will bump the review up to 2 stars.

Fantastic experience: I just left the clinic today and had a check up and clean done by John and I am very happy with the service I received. My history of Dental Clinics has caused a distrust in dental care and I’ve found that every clinic is either trying to look for imaginary issues in your mouth to charge you unfair prices or simply procedures and cleans are just lazy and sloppy. After many years of jumping from clinic to clinic trying to find a reliable, trustworthy, and diligent clinic. I can confidently say that I found one. I was very pleased by the transparency and knowledge of John, explaining the REAL issues I had and the root cause of those issues (the accumulative damage from careless cleans from different clinics over the years) My clean was extremely thorough - the most thorough clean I’ve ever received which took roughly 1 hour - 1.5 hours. I’m very pleased by the integrity and transparency shown by John. I will definitely be coming back and will be recommending this place to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I usually see Dr Viet as he’s done my braces for me previously. I came into the clinic needing a filling and had it fixed up by Chelsea. She was professional yet friendly at the same time. Chelsea’s explanations were thorough and she answered all of my questions. I accidentally chipped the tooth again a couple days after and Chelsea was super understanding- filled it again free of charge. Highly recommend seeing her or any of the staff at Phung Tran Dental Group.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and experienced dental practice. My wife and I have attended Phung Tran Dental Group for 20 years. That says it all. Dr Phung & Dr Viet provide the ultimate in professionally dentistry in the heart of Footscray. I recently had an urgent need, due to extreme pain, I emailed Dr Viet and he saw me immediately the following morning. Very considerate to all patients to STOP the pain, put you at ease and treat the issue. Highly recommended to anyone looking for experts in dental. All treatments are very reasonably priced which is always a plus.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new patient to this dental clinic. I tried booking an appointment online on Friday 22/7/22 evening as I had a cracked tooth. On Saturday morning at 8:30am the 23/7/22 Tony the Dentist called me to enquire about my situation. I was so impressed with the customer service Tony provided as he accommodated my urgent situation and arranged a convenient time for me to attend on Saturday. Fantastic experience: Doctor Tran was absolutely wonderful. I had quite a stressful time with breaking a tooth the night before, so I came in the next morning. I'm autistic and suffer extreme anxiety in dental settings. Not only did Doctor Tran help me rebuild a broken tooth, she didn't judge me at all for my poor dental health due to sensory issues and helped me remain calm. She was so patient and kind and it was a genuinely positive experience for someone who dreads even looking at a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Both my partner and I haven't been to the dentist for a couple of years so we were a both slightly anxious but both of us had a great experience couldn't stop talking about it after we left the practice. Everyone in the clinic was warm and welcoming. Had an appt at 3pm and we had barely to wait before Dr Viet brought us in after he was done with his previous appt. Dr Viet was very gentle with cleaning, I have never thought that a visit to a dentist would be so pleasant. Also reassured both of us with our concerns and explained the best treatments to go about with. 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: On the 28 September 2021, I attended the surgery of Phung Tran Dental, to be attended by Dr Viet Nguyen. In severe pain to a tooth. I had a 2pm appointment and got called in spot on 2pm, after an extray which revealed a severe infection and Dr Viet Nguyen explaining several alternative treatments, I advised him to work on a root canal.I left the surgery feeling in no pain at all and 48 hours later, I am still feeling a million dollars. Thankyou Dr Viet and assistants

Fantastic experience: I have been with Dr Tran for more than 15 years and she is a joy every time I visit her. She did my braces when I 1st saw her and I have never regretted this decision. She also did braces and other dental work for my family also. We all go to her every 6 months for a check up and clean. The team are all very friendly and professional, I highly recommend giving them a visit.

Positive experience: Quoted tooth extraction at $300. Root Canal $1600 over four sessions (four payments of $400 each). No pain during procedure with Viet. Did need an emergency check a few months later when Root Cannal started to hurt again. Got a different dentist (due to sudden timing) and was not happy with the lack of communication, but on expressing my disapointment the clinic took effort to rebuild my trust, and even refunded me in part for the procedure I had - making sure to organize a time to see my normal dentist (Viet) as soon as possible. Viet re-did the Root Canal procedure at no cost and it felt fine a few days after the pain settled from the procedure. They listened when I explained my financial situation wasn't the best (unemployed/on centerlink) and offered advice to help me get in contact with the Government Dental School to get a more affordable option. I was really grateful to see they weren't wanting to exploit me and did want to help me. I cannot afford to go to a private dentist (Medicare won't cover it) but this clinc has made solid effort to help me. If I could afford the standard Dental prices, I would have them do the rest of the work I feel I need done.

Fantastic experience: My first visit to this clinic today after being unable to see my usual dentist. Was greeted upon arrival and quickly called in for my 11.30 appointment. The dentist was amazing; professional, quick, efficient, articulate and gentle. He did a fantastic job on my broken tooth and was happy to explain additional treatments to prevent further/future damage.
