Fantastic experience: Whilst here on holidays in Bowen, l unfortunately broke 2 teeth which needed immediate attention. Luckily for me l contacted My Family Dental, who were able to see me straight away. I have always been terrified of dentists since bad childhood experiences, but what a pleasant surprise l got when l meet Dr Barry and his team. They went above and beyond to reassure me and l actually had a painless experience. I can highly recommend Dr Barry who is so caring and gentle and will be my go to dentist while holidaying annually in Bowen. Thanks again for a painfree and pleasant experience. Gayle Brown

DR T was amazing and very gentle in fixing my front tooth, My smile has never looked better thankyou and ably assisted by the wonderful caring Jess. I'm from the Gold Coast but travel frequently to Bowen. I will make them my dentist of choice now.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service. Jess is the best, she has great phone etiquette and always does her best to fit me in or help find a solution, she genuinely cares about the customer and nothing is a hassle. It makes things a lot more comfortable when it comes to sitting in the dentists chair. Both dentist here are great and efficient. Plus they’re reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend My Family Dental, Bowen.

Negative experience: Paid $350 for a filling that fell out 10 days later. Worst dental experience I have ever had. The dentist layed his instruments on my chest and dropped one on my chest at one time. Suction only used once. Very uncomfortable experience. I phoned to let them know I was unhappy but my call was not returned. Please choose other dentists in this town.

Fantastic experience: We were travelling through and staying in Bowen when my crown broke of while eating, after some ringing around I was lucky enough to be seen by the lovely Dr Omana and her assistant Jess. Nothing was too much trouble at all and the service I received was outstanding, and thankyou to Beck the receptionist for fitting me in. They were all so lovely and caring and I would highly recommend this dental practice. Thankyou so much girls.

Fantastic experience: When I arrived in Bowen on my travels, my permanent bonded wire on the back of my bottom teeth came loose and started digging into my tongue. It was after hours, so I sent a message through their website. I received a called before 8am the next day to let me know I could come in at 3.30. I was early to the appointment but I was taken straight through and the fix was complete at 3.20. Great friendly staff and impressive service! Thanks so much for relieving my problem so quickly. It's hard when you're on the road to find service like this

Fantastic experience: I’m doing the “Grey Nomad” so I’m thousands of km from home. Being pre-fluoride my teeth aren’t great and an old filling collapsed, causing nerve pain. MyFamilyDentalBowen fitted me in and Barry did the least-intrusive, lowest-stress restoration that I’ve experienced in many decades of (reluctant) dental visits.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic care! Got us in quickly when we needed a last minute appointment for our 5yr old who knocked a tooth out and injured two others while on holidays in the area. The cost has more than doubled, maybe because there is a TV and some shiny new cabinets. I would pay triple to see Barry happy in his work again.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Doran’s practice has always had a welcoming and friendly atmosphere - something that is certainly welcome when visiting the dentist. The surgery has always done what they can to fit me in, even when my schedule can sometimes be inflexible. I regularly travel 80km and have even travelled 1200km to go to this practice. Needless to say, I highly recommend My Family Dental Bowen.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this establishment since I was 13, I am now 27. Dr Doran has a person centred approach to dental care, that makes you feel like you have a say in your own health. He gives great education regarding dental hygiene and is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I highly recommend going to see the lovely staff at BJ Dorans Family dental Practice, they make me feel at ease with my anxiety of seeing a dentist and I will continue to see Dr Barry Doran till he retires.

Fantastic experience: Growing up in Bowen this Family Dental Centre was our family dentist and my parents are still going to this same Family Dental and seeing Barry Doran. As soon as my own family and I moved back to Bowen there was no doubt that we would be going to see Barry as our family dentist. He is professional and great with the boys, they don't like going to the dentist but he makes him feel comfortable. Everyone at Doran Family Dental are great and I would recommend them to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Barry has been our family’s dentist since 1972 when he was in Collinsville he then moved to Bowen and we have always gone to him, even when we moved to Glenden. We are now living in Mackay and visit him yearly to Bowen. My children and their children visit him also. We will miss him when he eventually retires. Go Barry.

Fantastic experience: As a very long-term customer, I would have to say that Dr Barry Doran is one of the most honest & caring dentist I have been to. I have never had a cavity, and the few times other dentist have looked at my teeth (when we traveled & couldn't get to Barry), they were quick to find SOMETHING to dig at or try to add to my mouth/bill, for nothing they really needed to do!! Barry is an interesting & unique character (being the first to wear colourful dental jackets) & very dedicated to his dentistry practice. He is definitely one-of-a-kind!
