Fantastic experience: I need so much work done on my teeth yet Yasmin and the dental nurses have always been lovely when I’ve come in and made me feel better about all the work I need doing! Like most, I get terrible anxiety going into the dentist, but everyone is so nice and accomodating and make me feel so comfortable when I’m in the chair!

Negative experience: Not happy with the cleaning I recently received from the dentist Luciana. This dentist just started picking at my teeth gave me flouride took x-rays. I've been getting dental treatment from dentist in another state before moving to Vic so my dental work was almost done. I got the impression this dentist wanted to undo everything I did.

Fantastic experience: I don’t often write reviews but I felt compelled to do so after my visit to Mentone Smiles. The care provided to me at this practice was truly exceptional. Every single member of the team made me feel so cared for and in safe hands. As a healthcare practitioner myself I feel like I learned about the standard all patients should receive when attending dental/medical appointments. I live quite a distance away from this practice but endeavour to only attend this practice of the high level of service I received. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Safe to say I am no longer nervous about going to the dentist, Dr.John Gornall is great, very gentle while undergoing dental procedures, I did not feel a thing!!! Great personal interest shown & happy to have a chat & a laugh during the appointment! LOVELY dental nurses & receptionist as well. All round great experience, definitely will not be going anywhere else now :)

Fantastic experience: I used to feel quite anxious about going to the dentist, however, Dr John at Mentone Smiles provides a relaxing and calm atmosphere and has a genuine interest in his patients, he has a chat and a laugh and is very down to earth. He’s so lovely, reassuring and very patient. Even my 9 year old son is keen to go to his dental appointments. If anything is urgent, he makes an effort to have you treated asap. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: My children and I have attended this clinic for over 5 years and have had excellent, attentive service by both the principal dentists. Yasmin is particularly experienced and gentle with my kids, very thorough treatment & provides useful advice/after care.

Positive experience: The Only reason I gave them a 3 ⭐ rating was I left when they told me the prices, apparently affordable turns into charge for everything they can. Needed or not. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, like most "affordable" surgeries, management and complicit staff (+bonuses). Not affordable ever.

Fantastic experience: Dr John looks after both my boys and they absolutely love their visits. His patience, professionalism and caring nature makes my sons feel relaxed and comfortable. Could not rate them highly enough.

Negative experience: I have been going to this clinic for a couple of years, however I won’t be returning ever again. They’re more focused on charging a $50 booking fee and maximising their profits than having good relationships with their clients. I had two appointments cancelled by them, both short noticed due to Covid lockdowns which I was very understanding. However, they did not give me the same respect when I was unable to attend due to being a Covid close contact (This only happened once and I never actually confirmed the appointment). Recently, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that I need to make a $50 upfront payment because there was a note on my account.

Negative experience: I made an appointment here 2 weeks in advance with no mention of a deposit or booking fee. The morning before my appointment, I received SEVERAL calls, starting at 8:59am which woke me up. This was followed by a text message from the clinic asking me to pay $50 as a "holding fee" to confirm my appointment, threatening that it will be cancelled unless it is paid by today. This was the first I heard of it. I responded refusing to pay the deposit and received a reply from the dentist Yasmin. Yasmin told me that new customer often don't show up and so the business had adopted this as a new policy. A business telling a new customer that they immediately don't trust them and are suspicious of them and insist on a policy like this is extremely disrespectful and distasteful. A clear demonstration of your lack of goodwill to your new customers, those you would welcome paying money at your establishment. I'll be taking my business to one of your many competitors in mentone.

Dr John's professionalism, knowledge and genuine care has helped me overcome the anxiety levels I had from past dental experiences elsewhere. Fantastic experience: I dislike the dentist as much as anyone and at my previous dentist I was charged for things that I didn't know about until it was time to pay. The team here explained clearly what I needed, made helpful suggestions about ongoing care, didn't push treatments and the bill was much less than I expected. Best thing of course is that it was pain free. I will never visit any other dentist - they are excellent.
