If stress is a thing when you go to the dentist, you don't have to focus on the dental work . Instead you can focus on the ceiling Tv and watch a program while the dentist does their thing. Fantastic experience: Modern practice with friendly professional staff

Negative experience: Amir Kiaei is one of the worst dentists I’ve ever seen in Australia. I went to get my teeth cleaned, and the cleaning itself was fine. However, after reviewing the X-rays he took, he said that my teeth only needed minor adjustments to the existing fillings. He specifically mentioned that no anesthesia would be required, as my teeth were otherwise healthy. According to his diagnosis, one of the fillings had become a bit bulky, which caused discomfort when flossing. He also said that if I didn’t fix it, it could cause my teeth to fall out as I got older. I went in to get one of the fillings adjusted, but during the procedure, he reached the nerve of my tooth. Now I can’t eat, drink water, or even floss without pain. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my tooth before this. Despite originally saying he wouldn’t use anesthesia, he ended up numbing the entire right side of my mouth, and the numbness lasted for several days. I believe he intentionally hit the nerve to cause pain so I would have to come back and pay more for further treatment. It’s true what they say — many dentists in Australia only care about money, not the patient’s well-being.

Fantastic experience: I had been postponing seeing a dentist for years due to PTSD (having tonsils out without anaesthesia as a child) and bad past experience with a previous dentist. So it all caught up with me and had no choice but see a Dentist. I was very fortunate to see Dr Valerie Baluyut, who not only is a fantastic dentist and dedicated professional, but also, she took care of me taking into account my phobia. Months and months later, I feel comfortable to attend treatments with Dr Valerie who has taken care of my many dental issues, due to neglect. Equally, staff at Lumino -from Reception to Dental Assistance are equally caring and friendly. Thank you all

Was a bit hesitant because I had been seeing my previous dentist from 4 years ago and was very happy with them but, needed a dentist in a closer/more convenient location. Fantastic experience: I went here for Bruxusm treatment. The care and treatment I received was excellent and I will continue to go here. In my experience beuticians that give botox are not skilled at using it for brutish which is a bit different to using it for looks. It 8s a bigger stronger muscle and it needs to be in exactly the correct location to work well. Fantastic, can't wait to go again.

Dr. Valeria took the time to explain the details of what mine and other family members treatment plan was. Every person I met was courteous friendly and professional. I particularly enjoy the technology used at Lumino, which allows patients to visually see where tooth decay and problem areas are located. Valerie has been transparent with what services are necessary and what services can wait, depending on the severity of the issue. The admin staff are also very lovely and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Dr Valerie at Lumino Smiles in Pascoe Vale is incredible. She’s so knowledgeable, gentle and kind. She’s amazing with kids. She recognised both my little ones had enlarged tonsils and recommended we see an EN&T specialist, as now there is a link between mouth breathing and jaw development/teeth issues. Both my boys now sleep so soundly and our regular visits to the dentist are easy without any nerves or drama. I would highly recommend Dr Valerie!

Fantastic experience: They really care. A few times I've had a chipped tooth and emailed them after 10pm and they got straight back to me to organise an appointment the following day! This is exceptional. Amir is a fine dentist, calming, caring, expert, goes to great lengths to make sure your teeth are better than you could have imagined. But for me it's the whole package: all of the team who work there; Kim, Lilly, Valerie, they're all on the same page as Amir -- really caring and legitimately want you to have a positive experience. I've had invisaline, root canal, and other procedures and I will only go to Amir in the future. Yes I know this review may seem like a cliche'd platitude but I haven't encountered a dentist who cares as much as Amir. Oh and the actual place is really nice, it has entertainment and is quite comfortable. Highly recommended!

Not from a fear of the industry. Just laziness. Booking was simple and easy. The animations explaining common dentistry topics in kids, teenagers, adults, and seniors and how these topics are typically treated were fixating. I learnt a lot. I needed a fair bit of cleaning and a complete check-up. Each step of the process was explained courteously. I was encouraged to ask as many questions as I wished. So, I did. If I didn’t understand a term or process, the team took the time to explain it to me. They speak fluent, garbled English The before and after images were very educational and will be most valuable in tracking my dental history. Shae and Lilly were standouts in the three visits: general check-up and clean-up. Photos and 3D scans of teeth and gums were taken and shown to me where areas needed attention. I had several fillings replaced. Plus, a bit of stain removal. They went the extra mile to test for any effect from my history as an ex-smoker. I was very appreciative of this proactive approach. Shae and Lilly were down to earth and lovely to spend time with while all the damage of my neglect was worked on. I’ve already booked my next session and look forward to partnering with Shae and Lilly again. Lumino was an enjoyable way to have my teeth and gums professionally attended to.

I met Dr. Val a few weeks ago for initial consult and had my first proper visit today. This place is excellent. Dr. Val is an incredible dentist, and I can't get over how much she put me at ease and reassured me through my treatment. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dentist but in particular anyone who might be a nervous patient. The practice, the team and the work they do are second to none.
