Fantastic experience: Like many people who dread the dentist, I ignored my oral hygiene for far too long - until a wobbly tooth forced me into action. That’s when I found Udental. Since then, Dr Sue and her wonderful team have pulled my teeth back from the brink (literally), with a mix of cleans, fillings, a plate, and even a crown or two. Their service has always been incredibly professional, with honest, clear communication about what’s going on in my mouth and how to fix it. And somehow - despite the skin-crawling scraping sounds - I actually enjoy going to the dentist now! Thanks to their care and guidance, I’m proud to say I’m down to six month check-ups. My teeth (and I) are truly grateful. P.S: To the reviewer who mentioned racial discrimination: I find this quite surprising. Dr Sue is Asian herself, and as an Asian patient, I’ve always felt welcomed, respected, and cared for by her and the entire team. In my experience, they’ve shown nothing but professionalism and kindness. It’s important to speak up about real issues - but also to be fair and accurate.

Negative experience: I went to UDental twice and unfortunately had a disappointing and uncomfortable experience both times. My first visit was for a standard dental cleaning. I booked it after walking in and speaking with Dr. Sue, who told me the cost would be $299 for new patients. During the cleaning, she told me I had several teeth that needed fillings. This surprised me, as I go for cleanings every six months and no other dentist had ever mentioned such serious issues. But since the clinic had good Google reviews and my dental insurance has a high annual limit, I trusted her advice and booked a second appointment. Later, I found out she had charged my health fund $435 instead of the $299 she quoted, and waived my out-of-pocket fee—without informing me beforehand. I was unfamiliar with private health insurance billing and assumed this might be normal practice, but it still felt unclear and not transparent. At the second appointment, scheduled for 8:45 AM, I was told by her assistant that Dr. Sue had just gone to her car and would be right back. She arrived 20 minutes late with coffee in hand and briefly said “sorry,” but it didn’t feel sincere. Once I was in the chair, she administered anesthesia. It wasn’t my first time having fillings, but it was the first time I was given anesthesia, so I asked why it was necessary. Her response was, “I don’t understand what you mean.” This made me feel dismissed rather than reassured. The anesthesia made me feel very drowsy, and I half-fell asleep during the session. Throughout the procedure, I could hear Dr. Sue and her assistant chatting about personal topics, which felt unprofessional. After the fillings were done, I asked how many teeth had been filled and how they looked. She replied, “I don’t have time,” and quickly moved on—possibly because she was behind schedule due to her late arrival. I felt rushed, dismissed, and disrespected. I was later billed $1,230 for filling four teeth, which used up my entire $1,200 annual dental cover. Because of what was charged in the first session, I had to pay more out-of-pocket for the fillings than I supposed to. It’s taken me some time to write this review—about two months—but the experience left a lasting negative impression. I can’t help but wonder if part of the issue was that I’m Asian, a foreigner, and English is not my first language. I truly hope that wasn’t the case, but I walked away feeling ignored and treated unfairly.

Negative experience: Whilst the staff are seemingly nice, I was advised by the dentist I needed multiple fillings & a crown after a standard clean. As a person who’s only ever had one filling ever, this treatment plan was highly surprising. I sought 2 additional expert, independent dental opinions as a result of this treatment advice from Udental and neither mentioned any additional work needed beyond a standard clean & polish, saving me literally 1000s of dollars. As a foreigner coming to Australia, I’d been advised to be cautious of dentists looking for extra ways to make $$ and over prescribing required treatments. Be cautious of this dentist and consider a 2nd opinion if you’re hit with a huge bill as those treatments may not all be required. Whilst the dentist’s bio talks about “preventative” treatment being a focus, I would argue that the recommendations were excessive & not required. 2 stars because staff are nice and a standard clean was a fine experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sue is a dental wizard and the team were brilliant! I recently visited UDental and was impressed with the level of care and professionalism. From the moment of my first appointment I always felt supported and at ease. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend this dental clinic to anyone looking for quality dental care and expertise.

Fantastic experience: Wow, what an amazing dentist! I called with tooth pain and they were able to fit me in with literally three minutes notice and provided the best dental experience I've ever had. Negative experience: I wouldn’t return. Called prior stating an issue with bottom wisdom tooth. They booked an appointment for that day. After arriving, was examined advised to take an x-Ray. No mention of what the cost of the x-Ray or consultation would be, and afterwards told they couldn’t help with extraction. If you know the dentist working that day does not specialise or cannot extract a wisdom tooth, then tell the patient on the phone prior instead of wasting their time booking an appointment, and ripping them off taking an x-Ray that you can’t even use within that clinic.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy I found Dr Sue and the U Dental practice. I moved back to Sydney after a few years and didn’t know where to start with my dental care, and I’m so lucky I was referred here. Dr Sue is fantastic - thorough, dedicated and lots of fun (and you don’t usually expect to enjoy your time at the dentist!). There is follow up on your oral health, advice for at home care, and it feels like she looks at your oral health as ongoing and longer term - you don’t feel like just another face and another routine clean (but the cleaning and assessment of your teeth and gum health is top notch). She also took the time to connect and refer me to a great orthodontist and has been involved in that process. All the staff are lovely and helpful. The facilities are very modern and clean. It’s a really comfortable experience overall. Also, it’s conveniently located just up from Central station. I was very anxious to find a great dentist, after years away, as I had some issues (bruxism, sore gums, needed orthodontic procedure) and I got overwhelmed sifting through all the different options. I can happily say, I’m relieved I found U Dental and Dr Sue.

Positive experience: I had a very average experience getting my teeth cleaned at UDental. While my teeth were cleaned thoroughly, the manner in which it was done was not very pleasant. I felt very patronised by Dr Sue Huang when I asked questions and explained my dental history. She also seemed quite rude to who I assume was the assistant/student dental hygienist. The vast majority of the ratings on Google seem to convey her exceptional 'chairside manner', but I did not experience this at all. For this reason, I will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Lincoln at Udental for over a year now, when I first came I hadn't been to a dentist for an embarrassing amount of years. After a check and some scans at the modern facility, let's just say, I needed some work done. With a good sense of humour, Lincoln explained everything and we developed a plan based on the urgency of the work. After a couple of (surprisingly painless and pleasant) visits, the team have me down to a "regular clean and check" and hoping with his help I can keep it that way!

Negative experience: I checked rating and went to Dr Sue, lot of comments how great she was. I did clean up which was 250 on offer but she changed me extra 100 because she said she had to do extra job. Next my appointment she did fillings and she run out of time and she was trying to do quick job and she was trying to pull something from the theeth which she had placed while filling the teeth, she couldn't and because she was late for next appointment she was trying to pull despite this piece was cutting my gum . I left bleeding and she literally kicked me out and told me she would call me to explain what she did. . one position opinion I he'd was her costumer service but in the end she even didn't send my gum pictures which I had paid for. I would write this, just not fair this fake ratings here I think.

And all I can say that I am so happy with the treatment I received! Don’t look for another dentist Edit after a few years: I had a tooth suddenly started giving me pain in the middle of the day and I called UDental, they arranged me an immediate appointment in few hours, and I found myself making the decision of tooth extraction. Although this was such a difficult operation, everything went very smooth and after few weeks I am completely fine now. I am planning to have my implant with UDental as well. Long story short (yes this is the short version), I can't be more grateful than being committed to Udental and feeling that I am in good hands. Thank you Udental!

Fantastic experience: I had this fear for dentist way back when. Luckily, after my husband 1st visit to Udental, he practically dragged me there to see Dr.Sue. Thanks to Dr. Sue's expertise and her great patience on following up on my treatments, I am now very happy with the outcome. During the practice, Dr. Sue helped massage my intensely sore jaw, and she personally called to explain and keep you posted. These details made great difference. More importantly, I no longer dread of seeing dentists. Also, I want to thank Maria for her assistance, making me feel less uneasy.

Not only is Dr Sue (and her lovely assistant) extremely friendly, personable, hilarious and professional, but she is highly thorough, knowledgeable, caring and skilled. Fantastic experience: Sue is an amazing dentist in a convenient location. I have had an initial check up including X-rays and three cleanings and every time the experience has been relaxed and totally pain-free. Sue explains everything plainly, and gives an honest assessment of your teeth and gum health without pushing any treatments or products. She has always been on time too which helps! Fantastic experience: I came to U Dental to have my top wire replaced as it was in pretty bad shape after 10 odd years! Sue was so accommodating and honest.. she remained very professional and answered all my questions. My first appointment was even scheduled after hours just to fit me in as I was experiencing a bit of pain. I was very impressed with the replacement of the wire as Sue was always so cautious if I was okay, needed a break etc. The wire feels stronger than ever! Although, I must say the clean had to be the best part of the whole experience, I left with my teeth feeling amazing! Fantastic experience: Dr Sue Huang and team are amazing. I hadn't been to the dentist for five years and was quite nervous. I needn't have worried. Dr Sue and her team mates create a really calming and caring environment. I had a pretty deep clean but felt not pain at all and now my teeth look great. All the way through the procedure she talked me through what was happening and made sure I was OK. I am not nervous and dare I say it am looking forward to going back for my check-up.

Fantastic experience: !!! If you are looking for highly professional dental services with friendly approach, Udental Clinic is the right place. I have developed some serious staining on my teeth that I desparately wanted to erase. Dr Sue took her time to consult it with me, find the cause, explain the procedure and took care of it immediately with such a care and thoroughness. Her practice of showing and explaining 'before' and 'after' on the screen is so informative for the patient together with going through the whole procedure. I am coming back for some additional treatment as my experience in this modern, airy, welcoming, clean, high-tec and friendly clinic was amazing. The location is fantastic as it is just a few steps from Central Station. Big thank you to Dr Sue and her assistant Marketa who took care of me that day.
