Dental Care St Kilda

Negative experience: Unfortunately the only caring dentist that used to work here and was absolutely phenomenal with me and my kids (Dr Kat) has left and the remaining dentist, Dr Alexander Kokorev, is horrifyingly rude rough and frankly inappropriate (he stank of alcohol while treating my partner and seemed completely unhinged?!). The receptionist Alla (and Alexander’s wife?) recently died and instead of taking time off for personal reasons, the remaining dentist is taking it out on all his patients. This dentist should not be practicing!!

Negative experience: I would not recommend going to this dental practice based on my traumatic experience. I initially asked for a general examination to which I was told I booked a general examination and scale and polish. I asked to not have the scale and polish even though I knew I needed it. The dentist, Alexander Kokorev, was rude and patronising, telling me I needed to have it. I agreed and understood. I have had a lot of work done with my teeth including root canal, crown and implant surgery. I understand that it can be very painful. My pain threshold is good. When he began the scale and polish I winced at the pain, no attention was paid to that. The dentist continued and I was in more pain to which I started crying. Again no attention was paid to me. The dentist continued and the pain continued causing me to cry more and breathe heavily almost hyperventilating as my mouth was open and he continued. There was no care shown to me during this traumatic experience as the dentist proceeded knowing I was in obvious pain. He did not even explain or ask if I was okay. I have never been to a dentist like this. Usually they go overboard ensuring that I feel okay which is sometimes unnecessary but this experience was like no other. He explained the pain was caused because my teeth really needed the clean and he was removed plague and dirt deep down. I really do understand that there can be a lot of pain. However it was the lack of care and empathy shown to me that was shocking. To make it worse this experience was very overpriced for the time I spent there which was 30 minutes! That time also included completing paperwork.

Fantastic experience: I have been in the care of Drs Alex and Katerina Kokorev and Alla for many years now and have always feel safe and confident in their hands. I have very sensitive teeth and usually dread a professional clean, but their willingness to offer numbing gel and to make the experience as gentle, quick and thorough as possible has meant I keep returning every half year. Highly recommend :)

Negative experience: Not the place to go if you have any questions regarding the procedure. I am In the worst pain of my life and was refused an appointment simply for asking general questions about the procedure. I was point blank refused service which has left me in agonising pain. Very very disappointed by how I was treated.

Negative experience: Came here yesterday for the first time. The receptionist is so so lovely but the dentist is rude and unkind in his manners. He said i ruined all his efforts when i closed my mouth after it was open for 10 min and he did not communicate with me that I couldn't close it in that moment. Since he was speaking in his own language I had no idea what he said and he was sighing and making sounds like he was very annoyed. Paid way too much...not coming back here.

Fantastic experience: I had been postponing the removal of my problematic teeth for a long time because I was afraid of pain and a difficult recovery. Fantastic experience: I admire Dr. Kokorev's professionalism and kindness. My previous implants caused discomfort, but after treatment with Dr. Kokorev, I no longer experience pain. I used to suffer from such severe pain that I couldn’t sleep, but now those problems are gone, and my new implants make me happy. I have a brand-new set of upper and lower teeth that look very natural, and most importantly, my jaw no longer hurts. Additionally, the doctor gave me a great price for the full replacement—it was the best offer I could find. I am truly satisfied.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dental Care St. Kilda. I have always had my dental care with Dr. Alex, who is very friendly and highly informative. This time, it was scheduled for my routine cleaning and check-up with Dr. Alex, but I was attended to by Dr. Kat Kokoreva. To my pleasant surprise, she was also incredibly informative and friendly. Dr. Kat provided all the information one could expect from a dentist, sharing basic dental knowledge based on her personal experience. And even showed me how to do tooth flossing which is a very incredible knowledge. Honestly, what makes me feel so comfortable visiting Dental Care St. Kilda is that the doctors and staff don't try to upsell their services. They recommend treatments based on our actual needs, which is something I didn't experience with my previous dentist. I am genuinely happy and feel very at ease using the services at Dental Care St. Kilda. Despite the long distance from my home to the clinic, every visit is absolutely worth it.

Negative experience: The rudeness of the dentist and staff is shocking. Today I took my 10 year old who is scared of dentists and was crying on the dentist chair. The dentist said I don’t need your dramas here your not at home! Followed by telling me never to bring her back there again as he is to busy for this. I’m shocked how unkid friendly, rude, a Person can be esp to a child because they were scared. Will never go back there again. This is not the first time the staff were rude but today was just horrific. Furthermore I received a pc today from reception threatening me to ruin any business I have so that I put down this review. Followed by a response to this review calling a child who doesn’t like a dentist and is scared and was crying special needs” This is just disgraceful .

Negative experience: No pleased at all with service spent less then 12 min for a teeth clean including doing x-rays would have hoped for a decent clean with how much it cost will definitely not be going back as was rushed and no care for the patient as I was obviously in pain throughout the clean

Recently had to have a wisdom tooth extraction it was the most straight forward procedure and Dr Alex reassured me that it was not gonna hurt and it did not. Fantastic experience: Dr Alex Kokorev is by far, the best dentist I've ever had. And I've had a few. Being very result focussed, direct and to the point, he can seem somewhat blunt at first meet. But once you get to know the guy, he's a very kind man, with a great sense of humor. However, regardless of who he is as a person, he is an absolute miracle worker when it comes to the chair. Having been in and out of dental surgery and various orthodontists through-out my teen and early adult years, as well as moving areas (and usually dentists) several times in the last ten years, I can confidently say; there is no one I would rather have working on my teeth. I only wish I'd found him sooner! In my mid twenties, I got taken for a ride (financially) by another clinic, also in St Kilda... And since, I've had some trust issues when it's come to dental costs and procudures. But with Dr Kokorev, I can honestly say that I have never once felt that I'm paying for unnecessary extras. I always feel like he has my best interest at heart. I've moved several times out of the area, further and further away each time. And even though I'm travelling for an hour plus each visit, it's still 100% worth it for the expertise and care I know I will receive.

Also, dentists are never cheap, but his prices are affordable. You are unlikely to find anyone cheaper at this level of quality. And if you go regularly, you are certain to save a lot of money in the long run. I had recommended Dr Kokorev to a friend who needed some urgent expensive work done and she was also very happy, both with work and with the price.

Fantastic experience: I'm a former dental student and switched to Dr Kokorev about 4 years ago and never looked back. His work is exceptional in all areas - from extractions to crowns. I had a bit of work done and he is usually punctual and the staff overall at the clinic are fantastic. Prices are totally fair and he only refers on for special cases that require it. I went to a dentist years ago that referred on for anything beyond a boring quick filling, but Kokorev does everything and to a very high, pain-free standard. Cannot recommend enough and especially good if you need a couple of things sorted out. My front crowns are some of the best crowns I've seen, full stop.

I then went to Dr. Kokorev who looked at the tooth and said, no, we can fix it. And he did, cost was a fraction of the price and the tooth is still solid years later. Go to a no BS dentist like Dr. Kokorev. I have always gone back.
