Fantastic experience: I am so impressed with Artsmiles. VERY impressed. I have all my general dental done there which is always done with extreme care and never rushed. Dr Dunker designed a very tricky implant for me and it is an absolute success. He is a perfectionist. I would call him a “tooth artist”, and is very gentle and caring. I am also a member of the Artsmiles Club which gives me even more discount on the practice’s already reasonable prices. I can honestly say that everyone there, from the girls at the reception desk to whoever has you in their chair, are so friendly and compassionate. A very good friend of mine recommended Artsmiles in Southport and in particular, their boss Christian . Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Art Smiles! My experience was fantastic! The clinic is equipped with modern technology, and the entire team is both professional and welcoming. Dr. Christian is wonderful, he’s calm, explains every step of the process, and ensures you fully understand each procedure. My implant procedure was a success, with no pain at all. I’m stoked with my implants, they look natural and amazing!

Negative experience: The worst experience i have ever had in life regarding dental treatment! I am a dentist too and i expected to be treated with at least some dignity. The resin on my front tooth broke, and I desperately messaged a group of Brazilian dentists asking for recommendations for a specialist in resin work on front teeth with an emphasis on occlusion. Dr. Christian said he was that professional, so I trusted his word. I explained to him that my resin had broken, and that I was missing contact on the palatal side, which was causing discomfort and making me worried that the adjacent tooth might suffer some trauma. Since I’m a professional in the field, I spoke to him using technical terms to make my expectations clear and to explain my main concern. He told me I had high expectations and that his patients were not demanding. I then asked if he thought it was a matter of expectation or knowledge. He was always very arrogant and rolling his eyes. He told me that there was no way to fix the resin without significantly wear down my tooth. I asked why, because it’s not necessary to wear the tooth down a lot to apply composite nowadays, and I asked him to try to minimize the wear. He said he would try. At this point, I asked if he preferred to think over my case carefully before we started the treatment so he could assess whether he was willing and able to resolve my issue. He began generating the quote, and in addition to the resin, he included the price for adjusting my retainer. I asked him why, and he said that if I didn’t want to pay for the adjustment, I should pay for the consultation instead. Extremely unethical and unprofessional. I should have left, but since I was desperate with my front tooth broken, I decided to give him a vote of confidence. When I got home, I realized he hadn’t polished the palatal side properly, and the next day the resin started coming off in pieces. I scheduled another appointment with him to fix the resin that was breaking and not polished. At this new appointment, he made me wait for 50 minutes, only to tell me he didn’t have time to fix what had broken. He wanted to grind down one of my natural teeth to avoid the problem of the lost contact due to the resin breaking. I tried to explain to him that this didn’t make sense, and that the ideal solution would be to add a thin layer of resin since it had broken. He kept rolling his eyes, didn’t look at me, and treated me in a very disrespectful and undignified manner. He treated me like a dog, told me to sit down, and when I asked him to talk to me first because the way he was treating me wasn’t right, he said he wouldn’t fix my tooth anymore and simply kicked me out of the room. I left the clinic with my tooth in worse shape than when I arrived. I’m now missing occlusal contact and a protrusive guide on the tooth where he did the resin, and I’m at risk of developing an endodontic problem on the adjacent tooth. I’m afraid to chew and break the rest of the resin. What a regret! Never go to this dentist.

Unlike any other dentist before, they listened and made me comfortable through every step of getting multiple restorations completed. Cannot recommend enough for those like me with a (previous) anxiety about going to the dentist!

Negative experience: I needed a crown so I did my research and came across ArtSmiles. Their website looked professional and they guaranteed their products which gave me confidence to book an appointment. I expected skilled care and quality work, but ended having the worst dental experience of my life. I was assigned a dentist whom I assumed was experienced with crown installations—unfortunately, I was wrong. The entire process was nothing short of a nightmare. The dentist struggled repeatedly to fit the crown, yanking it out and trying again while the assistant pulled my mouth one way and the dentist yanked it the other. I was in excruciating pain, on the edge of screaming, but felt trapped as I’d already invested $1600. To make matters worse, I prefer to wear my own sunglasses, but this dentist refused, saying she wouldn’t be responsible if they were damaged. Instead, I had to wear their provided glasses, which were rediculously uncomfortable, adding to my misery. Fast forward two years and one month, the crown has crumbled in my mouth, half of it broke off. I was in disbelief that it was my crown, so I sought a second opinion from another dentist, who confirmed it was my crown and that the crown was cracked at the base and the installation was of poor quality. The crown would need to be completely replaced. For context, I’ve had a crown on the other side of my mouth for 15 years, without issues—clearly something has gone horribly wrong, with the one from ArtSmiles. When I contacted ArtSmiles, to address this, I was met with frustration. They smugly informed me that their guarantee only lasts for two years and since I was 1 month past that period, they refused to do anything. ONE MONTH out of warranty and they wouldn’t take any responsibility for their shoddy work. This treatment has been appalling, from start to finish. Not only was the procedure, barbaric and unprofessional, but the aftercare— or complete lack therof— proves that ArtSmiles doesn’t stand by their work. I’ve been telling everyone I know about this horrible experience and will continue to warn others to steer clear of this shady business.

Fantastic experience: I have to be the worst patient a dentist can have! My anxiety level was to the top. I needed calming medication prior to my first appointment. Right from the beginning Dr. Christian Dunker listened to my fear & responded appropriately by giving me numbing gel before he came near me with a needle. From then on I was able to cope easily without pain. He had a big job with lots of surgery needed before he could do several implants planned & teeth had to be removed first. I had the best experience today. No pain whatsoever. We are half way through the process but each visit I approach with less apprehension. He's my kind of dentist & I have experienced a few. Ann Next appointment. Updated today Thursday after a sleepless night even though my head told me there will be no pain my nerves didn't agree. Today was actually attaching my 2 implants to the 'feet' already inserted previously plus a difficult eye tooth filling which is what I dreaded this time. Fitting the implants was easy & with the help of my stress squeeze toy, numbing gel & my calming essential oil I managed to get through the needle penetration & the drill which is what I hate most but Dr Christian used the gentle less noisy drill to help me through my anxiety & I now have 3 new teeth to help me enjoy chewing some whole food instead of soups. I'm looking forward to dinner tonight. 26/09/24 further update I had 3 teeth remove today in preparation for my next implant. 2 teeth had infection at the roots. it's been awhile since my last implant so my stress level was up again even though my mind told me I had survived this previously. Two hours in the chair. It was a big job. No problem. Dr. Christian used numbing gel which works. Yes, I did feel post procedure discomfort. I was given a script for an antibiotic plus pain relief, cold pack & swabs to pack the area & instructions to eat cold, soft food to assist healing. I slept well & now feeling better I don't think I'll ever be a perfect patient, but it's good to know Dr. Christian is young enough to be around for a long as I might need him Ann

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend the team at ArtSmiles highly enough. Every touch point is designed to put you at ease, feel safe and relaxed. As a well known Dento-phobe, the way each and every team member authentically cares about the patient is tangibly evident and such a blessing. I had a rather tricky extraction performed today with a cyst from under the dead tooth removed. It was hairy but Dr Darren Wang was a verifiable legend and performed the surgery will skill, precision and no pain to me. I’m sure that procedure will end up in a journal somewhere! I’m so sorry I cant recall the dental nurses name as she was incredible too! You know who you are. Thank you to you both for the many years of study and dedication and practice that went into becoming the superstars you are and executing a dental ballet today. Congratulations Dr Christian in creating such a wonderful home for talented professionals. Will sing your praises far and wide. During the entire procedure, Dr Darren Wang and his assistant, Denise, were focussed, made me feel comfortable, relaxed & kept checking that I was OK during the procedure. The headphones were fully charged for me to use to watch tv because I don’t like to hear any of the instruments eg drilling, suctioning, metal instruments in my mouth etc. & the distraction of the headphones/tv helped me to concentrate on a funny tv show. Fantastic experience: Dr Bashour - A fine dentist I came here, after losing all my lower back teeth, 10 years of eating with my front teeth. I am so glad to have met Dr Bashour, a very talented dentist specialist in dental implants. , attention to detail. Dr Bashour has impeccable attention to detail. He implanted 2 teeth on each side of my back teeth & I feel fantastic, for now at least. I'll check back after I've eaten a few things. I'm checking back, I'm so happy, the implants are worth every cent, no more eating with front teeth, no more giggling false teeth whilst chewing. I really believe Dr Bashour is one of the best dental implant surgeon in Queensland.

Having always been insecure about my teeth, I booked a free 1 hour consult with ArtSmiles immediately. The team were friendly honest and made me feel so comfortable. Dr Dunker presented my options to me and I opted for a full mouth makeover. The ladies at the front desk helped me arrange accessing my super to fund the project and three visits later I have a celebrity smile and all the confidence in the world that comes with it. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend ArtSmiles Dental Team!! Special mention to Dr. Christian Dunker He was so kind and very professional principal Dentist. I had an emergency procedure due to severe gum pain and swollen gums 4 days before my wedding, Dr. Christian did not hesitate to help me and underwent the emergency procedure straight away. He explained in detail the dental process prior to procedure and provided me a medical book for me to feel more comfortable and reassured. He also sent a message 2 consecutive days after the procedure via ArtSmile receptionist to check if I am okay to ensure that I am pain free and wished me a happy smile on my wedding day. As a Registered Nurse myself, Dr. Christian work ethic and integrity to his Dental work is truly something to be admired!

I had 3 implants done at a very good price because I joined the art smiles club . Dr Cristian Dunker Did an amazing job .I feel very comfortable with him treating me and I’ll be returning for all my dental care in the future . The Staff are also extremely warm and welcoming which for me is a very big thing . Negative experience: Not very good. I was examined by the dentist he was rough & he tapped on my front bridge following that he fractured the bridge after it had been restorated by my another dentist. Not a great experience at all.

Negative experience: Receptionist made it a horrible experience saying one thing then getting to the appointment to find out incorrect information which added to an already stressful situation. You would think they would try make the experience a little pleasant but no. Dentist are amazing! They just need to get qualified/trained receptionist!!!
