Negative experience: I was a patient with Healthy Smile Dental in Underwood and have always been impressed with the service and care. When I moved to Parkinson, Healthy Smile Dental Calamvale was my first choice. I was impressed with the reception and professionalism of the front line staff. Unfortunately, that's where it stopped. Dr Mei Leong did my clean and it was very rough and painful. My first thought is that she should not have become a dentist. Not recommending Dr Mei Leong to anyone. I will try another dentist there for my upcoming clean as I was always happy with the Underwood branch. I hope it is a more positive experience.

Negative experience: I've been going to this practice for many years, seeing the same dentist. This review is not for the dentist, but for the practice's poor handling of a change in dentist for my appt. They called. I missed the call. They did not leave a message re the matter or asked me to call back. I called back the following week to enquire what the call was about. I was then told my normal dentist would not be available for the appt that I had booked 1 year in advance, and suggested a different dentist who I can see have received some unfavourable google reviews. Their response was, we tried to contact you - yes, you did, but did not leave a message re the matter or to call back. I made this appt knowing I would be in Brisbane on that date. The next available appt with my preferred dentist would be when I'm not in Brisbane. The practice needs to be more mindful of clients' potential circumstances as to why they might request a particular appt date, and make every effort to get hold of their client as early as possible to explore possible options.

Fantastic experience: The team at Healthy Smile Dental has always been polite and professional. I have always been greeted with a smile at the front desk. I have never had a regular dentist until my first visit with Dr Steven Wong, and that was over 12 years ago! Dr Wong is the most gentle, thorough and knowledgeable dentist that I have come across. He takes time to explain concepts and dental jargon to me in lay people’s language so I am fully informed about changes to my teeth and gum. He also provides low cost recommendations to help me better look after my teeth. He never recommends unnecessary treatment just to make more money. Since high school days (over 20 years ago), I have always been somewhat afraid of dentists. However, whenever Dr Wong cleans my teeth, I can honestly say that I have nearly fallen asleep in the chair…. lol that’s how gentle he is! I have had vaneers, fillings, splints, X-rays and scale and cleans and each time, I have seen positive results. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Wong to anyone. Now my whole family attends Healthy Smile Dental ☺️ Thank you.

Negative experience: I had a really disappointing experience with Dr. Hye-in Kim on Friday, 09/08/24. I went in for a simple cleaning, but instead got pushed into doing unnecessary X-rays and a full-mouth checkup that took up most of the appointment, which I didn’t even ask for. The cleaning itself was the shortest and roughest I’ve ever had, and on top of that, I was asked to reuse a disposable tissue after rinsing my mouth! totally horrible and unhygienic. The whole thing cost $325, pretty much draining my health fund. The entire experience felt rushed and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I had to put my anxiety aside and put my Bupa to use. To my surprise I had the most easiest and comfortable experience with the amazing Dr Alan Kwon and his assistant Mylan. Such a convenience finding somewhere both affordable, local and professional. Alan did a thorough job at covering all my dental needs from X-rays, cleaning and fixing up my damaged tooth. After experiencing such exceptional service and taking home my little Colgate kit freebie, I could almost laugh at myself for feeling scared for no reason. I can’t wait to go back wearing my Balenciaga inspired protective glasses knowing my teeth are well looked after by Dr Alan and the rest of the Healthy Smile team. Thank you!

Negative experience: The single most horrendous experience I’ve had from a health practitioner. I had a bad anxiety attack in the dentists chair she responded extremely unprofessionally and I haven’t managed to get back to seeing a dentist because of it. I had made a complaint but don’t know if anything came of it.
