Fantastic experience: Mohammed Elfar at A-1 Dental in Belconnen is an exceptionally competent and caring dentist. His work is of high quality and he doesn’t cause pain. I also received dental evaluation and treatment from Dr. Arash Mohseni, Doctor of Dental Medicine on August 5, 2024.i found him to be a highly compassionate dentist who was thorough in explaining what his procedure and possible outcomes would be in evaluating a tooth that had lost its crown. I felt completely confident and comfortable with him and he also did not cause me pain.He also practices at A-1 Dental in Belconnen.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience at this clinic. A few months ago, I visited the clinic for a cavity filling for one tooth which I didn’t have pain from at all. The dentist drilled into the cavity and did the filling as usual, he told me that there will be some discomfort that should go away in a couple of weeks, but the pain didn’t go away as promised. I returned for a follow-up, and after speaking with the clinic owner, I was given two options—one temporary and another that was expensive that I couldn’t afford. They claimed everything was done correctly, but my condition has only worsened. What was supposed to be a simple issue has turned into a bigger problem. I am frustrated with the lack of proper care and the way my concerns were ignored.

Positive experience: Helpful receptionists and good dentists, dr Tristan explained to me what can be suitable for my condition.

He explains everything to you and checks in with you that you understand what is going to happen and you know what your options are. You feel part of the decision process and respected as a patient. Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr Shareif for about 18 years now. Dr Shareif is an excellent dentist, who takes the time to explain his recommendations in a no pressure manner. He takes a patient centred approach to care, and is diligent regarding patient comfort. Prior to seeing Shareif I had anxiety about visiting the dentist, but his consistent professionalism and care over the years means I no longer dread visiting the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I booked an appt with Dr. Mustafa and Dr. Mohammad and both of them were absolutely amazing. Dr. Mustafa examined my tooth with a lot of patience and was very thorough at explaining the problem and the solution. And Dr. Mohammad made the whole tooth removal procedure super easy, quick. He explained the steps of the tooth removal procedure to ensure I was comfortable.

Negative experience: I will never go back. I originally rated them highly because they were very friendly and were near my new address. I had just moved and was a bit vulnerable because I was looking for a new dentist in my new area that I could trust so I was a bit blindsided. Unfortunately, instead of giving me the filling I requested, I walked away after paying my entire dental budget for the year - in over $300 for an X-ray I didn’t want or need and a quote for a root canal that would cost me thousands, I trusted them at the time they had really good bedside manner and seemed to be trauma informed which I appreciated after undergoing 3 years of torturous orthodontic treatment from a different provider. However, I went back to my old dentist today who had treated me for years before this. I told him I knew that I needed a root canal based on the advice from the A1 dentist and told him I had been trying to save up for it for 2 years. I told him there was no way I could afford it and would have to access my super to get the treatment that this other dentist recommended. He said it just needed a new filling and wouldn’t cost that much he also let me know about payment plans that can be available. I wish I had just driven the extra kilometres to see my dentist in the first place. Thanks for the unnecessary radiation A1. My proper dentist isn’t even considering a root canal right now. I hope you are enjoying your ski trips to Aspin or whatever.

Fantastic experience: I have had the best care from Shareif and Mohamed at A1 Dental over many years. I recently required urgent work which included a crown and cutting back the gum to do the work. I didn’t feel the needle and had no pain whatsoever during or since the procedure. I expected to at least have pain in the gum, but nothing. Amazing! I have total confidence in their abilities. They have a genuine caring nature. I will not go anywhere else.

I have been using A1 Dental since they opened and I can say that Dr Mohamed Elfar (met his business partner once while Mohamed was away and he was also very kind and caring) is the best dentist by far and one of the best I have ever had in my life. The kindness and empathy shown to me by all the staff is awesome, which leaves me feeling like a part of a family every time. Nothing is too hard and everyone is so friendly, as well as polite and courteous. I have many severe disabilities requiring the use of a wheelchair. They accommodate the chair, all my needs no matter how long it takes, and always with a smile, as well as comforting my severe anxiety. I want to say so much more, but words do not do justice to the quality and kindness I receives from A1 Dental, Dr Mohamed Elfar, and his team. I know I have a dentist for life now. I hope that one person reading this actually goes in and finds out what I am experience everytime. I had to get my wisdom tooth out, Mohamed was amazing… he said he was the best at what he does and I just laughed, but he actually really is, 15 minutes from walking in the door to walking out. I don’t have private health so it is a bit pricey, but for the quality of service it’s worth every cent.

Dr Mustafa was so lovely, we had a friendly conversation at first and then during the dental he kept checking in to make sure I was okay and allowing me to rest my jaw. I usually find cleans a bit uncomfortable sometimes sensitive but there was no discomfort at all, it was a very pleasant experience. Dr Mustafa went over everything in detail and was very thorough explaining what I need to do for dental health and why it’s important. Fantastic experience: The best dental practice in Canberra! The entire team and quality of their services are top tier! I highly recommend seeing Dr Shareif Elhoufy - he is experienced, knowledgeable and a genuinely kind person. My first visit was in May 2021 and I was extremely anxious. He made me feel comfortable and created a thorough dental plan, explaining what needed to be done. During procedures, he talks through the steps and checks to see if everything is ok. I now see him regularly and have NEVER had a bad experience. The dental assistants and reception staff are wonderful too, especially Krystal and Maya. Every time Krystal assisted Dr Elhoufy during my appointment, she was caring and warm. Maya is always great to speak to - she is professional, helpful and her welcoming attitude is the perfect start to every appointment. Overall, A1 Dental are AMAZING and provide the best dental care experience!
