Negative experience: This dental practice should be shut down. I had 2 wisdom teeth removed and ended up with an abscess that spread to the back of my skull because they sewed it up with an infection there. I was taken by ambulance for an emergency surgery through the front of my neck and spent 2 weeks in hospital with drains hanging out my neck and had lockjaw for 3 months.This was the most horrible experience in my life. DO NOT GO HERE. I am traumatised years later from this experience of having my other 2 wisdom teeth removed and am permanently left with a scar on the front of my neck to remind me.

Fantastic experience: I am reviewing two separate procedures that I've had here. Last week, Dr Ben and his assistant Marianna were amazing. They were personable and kind and talked me through each step of my procedures (crown and fillings). I am grateful for their professional and caring approach. The price was fair and competitive. This week I had in-chair-whitening with Hygienist Lyn. I was originally nervous as I have sensitive teeth, but Lyn told me that she could manage that for me, and indeed she did! She talked me through every step and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She took great care and sent me home with products and instructions. I am so happy with my new, white smile! Thank you Lyn!

Positive experience: Unfortunately the dentist did not find that I needed a root canal treatment and just sent me back home.

Fantastic experience: Seen Jade yesterday for a clean and honestly it was the best clean I’ve had in years. Then after seen Dr Wu and he was so great at explaining everything I had to get done and putting a plan in place for me. I’m so happy with the service.

Then came and told me exactly what needed to be done. No fluff just straight to the point, exactly the way I like. Already booked in for a clean and check to work out where to next. The staff were all lovely I can’t speak highly enough. Awesome service

Fantastic experience: I recently located from very remote NT to the GC. I needed some longterm dentistry issues treated. After a thorough search I selected this practice. I was initially assessed by Dr Ben Tseng. He explained the issue as he saw it and outlined my options including the cost. There was no pressure and no hidden costs.I selected an option and booked in. The work was done using state of the art technology which meant the procedure could be completed on the same day rather than the usual 2 weeks between visits. Throughout, Dr Tseng was patient, careful, professional and he took his time to describe the procedure and the steps and answer all my questions. I am very happy with the results (a new crown manufactured on site). Dr Tseng is the most competent, likeable dentist I have ever met and I cannot recommend him highly enough. The pricing is competitive and it represents value for money. Many sincere thanks to Dr Ben Tseng!

Fantastic experience: Dr Ben Tseng is really fantastic, and all round I have had a great experience at this practice. I hadn't been to a dentist for 6 years (very naughty), but Dr Ben didn't make me feel bad or anything, he just got down to seeing what needed to be done with a very friendly and professional manner. Turns out I needed a very thorough cleaning after all those years, which started out a bit uncomfortable, but after checking with me Dr Ben numbed me right down, and after that it was a painfree breeze. He is very keen not to hurt his patients, and I really appreciated that. Dr Ben explains everything very well, using xrays and photos of your teeth, so you understand clearly what needs to be done, and what your options are. Same great experience when I went back a few days later to get a filling fixed. He numbed the area expertly, and I didn't feel any pain at all. I need to go back to see the hygienist, and after that to get a crown put on a broken tooth. I'm perfectly relaxed going back for both procedures, as I know I'm in excellent caring hands, and Dr Ben will make sure there is no pain. Dr Ben's assistant was very friendly too (so sorry I did not catch your name), and the front desk staff are super lovely too. I really felt very well looked after by everyone, and so I recommend this place very highly to all :-) EDIT! Four years later, still love this practice, and the excellent care I've had. Just had two fillings done by the lovely Lyn, all great and very professional. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Linh is the BEST Hygienist I have ever met across. She is very patient and friendly, and explained every single step she is going to operate. She eliminated my anxiety of seeing a dentist. She helped clean up my teeth and refilled decayed tooth. My gum and teeth are in excellent condition and no sensitive issues at all! The whole experience is fantastic. I definitely recommend Linh to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Very good dentist office. Dr dan allan helped me very much i had to get both bottom wisdom teeth remove . one of the wisdom teeth had snap in half . He really good skill at extracting wisdom . He was good bedside manner tell me whats happening and he add some more tooth numbing medicine inject in around the tooth . (After many years of searching for a new dentist after mine retired I find myself back at Southport Dental ( where my original dentist Tony was ) . Everything about this place is brilliant . Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with the quality of dental work performed by Dr. Allan, which included remedying a chipped front tooth and filling four teeth. What i like about this practice is their genuine concern for patients' well-being. This was evident when they scheduled a phone follow-up just to ensure everything was going well post-treatment. The reception staff also deserve a mention for their understanding and flexibility when I had to reschedule my appointment due to a work commitment. I found their prices to be quite reasonable. During my first appointment, Dr. Allan took the time to explain the different treatment options, along with their respective advantages and disadvantages. I appreciated this transparency as it made me feel informed and I felt that I was being recommended the most suitable treatment. When i asked Dr. Allan if any other teeth had their "service soon light on" It was reassuring to hear that everything looks ok at this stage, considering a few years of neglect on my end! Overall, this is a busy, extremely well-managed practice that I would not hesitate to recommend. I've been urging my partner to schedule a visit too. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Best Dentist on the Gold Coast!! From the warm, friendly and helpful front desk staff to the Dental Assistants and Hygienists, they are all great! Dr Ben Tseng is the best Dentist I have ever been to in my life (I'm 68 years old). He is kind and as gentle as he can be. He explains what is happening and what is going to happen all through the consultation. He reassures you all the while, and asks how you are feeling. Just the best!! Recommended

Negative experience: Standard cleaning appointment means the dentist will have a look (2 minutes) when you are lying down on a chair... that part is called consultation. In my case, the rest of the time was "cleaning". Cleaning that leaves a small front mark on the front tooth. On the end 60 second fluoride ''application'' for 30 dol Dentist appointment with hygienist for 215 but during appointment I got price 230 then when I mentioned that on the phone I got 215 she said "oh sorry" you are right 215 I felt like I was in an Asian massage store. Don't even try to sell me a story that you're sorry ect. give me back that 30 doll and I'm never coming back

Fantastic experience: Dr Mamu Kamo was I think the most thorough denist I've been too. She was extremely careful and I felt I was in very capable and friendly hands. Would recommend. :)

Negative experience: Initially, a couple of years ago, Dr BenTseng was very professional and I thought I had found THE dentist. Well, not so much these last two visits. When discussing some major dental work, I felt like I was being dismissed. I think he is rude and condescending. If it wasn’t for patients, there would be ‘no practice ‘. I won’t be back.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed about their services provided. I have been going there regularly and believe they would provide right advices, however they failed it. I have found out they actually do deep cleaning for minor gum issues through other sources,but none of staff there suggesting this treatment to me and now I am suffering. I have always been paying attention to my oral health and couldn't believe I have gum disease!? I understand that there are lots factors contributing to this but why we see dentist for? I hope others won't need to experience disappointed service like me.

Fantastic experience: I have been checking my teeth with dentist Ben Tseng for 2 years, Jenny helps me general cleaning teething 3 times already every 6 month. I highly recommend they two to everyone one. Not only very professional but also very patient. They always explain to me what are they going to do next, making sure I am understand. The whole team is just good, receptionists are kind, facilitates are new. And importantly, they both can speak fluent Mandarin with me, I like it!

Fantastic experience: Man...Dr Dan is a beast! I had 2 wisdom tooth removed under local anaesthetic and I literally did not feel a thing. I am writing this review 5 hours post removal and the local anaesthetic has worn off and I still feel no pain (I have been taking Panadol and neurofen in alternating fashion.) and have got minimal to no swelling. Honestly, I am blown away. The whole procedure from start to finish took a grand total of 15 minutes!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent work. Have tried several dentists on the Gold Coast and wasn't completely satisfied or confident with them. Had a filling fall out and contacted these guys on short notice. Best dentistry decision I've made in the last decade. Dr Dan is professional and works quickly and efficiently. Work was done to a high standard and issues resolved. Id have no problems trusting the advice here in future and the quality of work. Price was good and you leave feeling confident in the work done and advice given.

Kristi, the Hygienist, has a lovely personality and ensures your comfort throughout your visit. She obviously loves her job and is meticulous in her attention to detail. Negative experience: EDIT to owner's response: Yes, that is correct. I have rang many times and my mobile in the past two months has been the same. Regardless, I have received no email. I will email the address you provided simply to request a transfer of medical information to another clinic. Thanks for your response. If I could give minus one star, I would. Been left agonising for 3 days waiting for the doctor to give me a call pertaining to the treatment I was given (which is clearly not working). One day he is not there, the other days he is busy dealing with a patient and I get promised a call back by the reception (a call that has not been made yet). Just to make it clear, I have already been to the clinic and have paid for my consultation and advice. The level of unprofessionalism and care is uncanny. I am still in shock by how little care has been offered despite the phone calls I have made to reception in which I have made explicitly clear that I am in a lot of pain. Would not recommend this place if you are looking for someone to look after your dental health.

Doctor Dan Allan was professional and efficient. He also spent time answering our questions regarding the hole and damage of my teeth. We like their system as well. Make us feel being looked after and not wasting doctors time. I have to mention that Their oral Heath therapist Linh Lee cleaned my teeth I’m not joking this is the best clean I have done in my life! I’m so happy with how it came out and thankful for her patients. And it didn’t feel that bad like the sensitive feeling when they use the mini pressure gun. Please keep it and I want to stay. Girls all around this place are wonderful too. They look happy with what they are doing. This just passed to me and made my day. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Having been to so many other dental practices locally, we were surprised at the good facilities Southport Dental had. Their staff were welcoming and friendly. We found Dr Dan Allan exceptional, knowledgeable, caring and kind. He took time to listen and did not appear rushed. He was extremely good with the young children and knows how to handle their anxieties. His treatment was appropriate and he did not provide unnecessary diagnosis, investigations, treatment and subsequent billings like other practitioners we have seen in the past. We would definitely recommend him highly as your trusted family dental practitioner.

Fantastic experience: First time at Southport Dental today, and I have to say, the service there is absolutely fantastic. When I walked in, I was greeted by 3 super friendly admin staff members. My appointment was on time and on schedule and both the hygenist Matt and the denitst Dan were absolutely great. Definitely will be back here again.

Fantastic experience: While I'm not a fan of going to the dentist, I have to say that the team at Southport Dental always go above and beyond to put me at ease. The fabulous girls on reception (who are always bright and cheerful), the dental technicians & assistants and the wonderful Dr Ben all contribute to a hassle free, stress free visit. They really DO care. I wouldn't go anywhere else on the Gold Coast. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Southport Dental by an acquaintance. I was impressed with Kristi the hygienist, she was excellent and I thank her. I have only attended twice so far for intense teeth and gum cleaning, and quickly assessed by Dr Wu, he was lovely too. I should add that he recommended that I have my left mauler crowned, and I didn't due to circumstances, anyway my new dentist surgery now. Lovely rooms and practice, and the staff appear so friendly, warm and professional, so I'm happy which is good when you hate having to go to the dentist, as most of us, if not all are. I attended again for a sore tooth 28 Sept 2020 that had fractures in it and was previously advised to crown it by Dr Wu, (however on my right side and not the advice by my Sydney dentist not so long ago, so I now wonder about her expertise). Now whether it would have saved the tooth who knows, however when I returned with pain and the X-rays were taken, it was decided the best option was to extract it. It was painless, unlike dentistry many years ago. Anyhow, the assessment was honest and the treatment by Dr Wu was excellent, so I don't hesitate to return or be treated by him and will definitely take his advice in future.

Fantastic experience: All I can say is wow! I hadn't been to the dentist for a bit too long and I'm so glad I chose this one! The whole team here are so welcoming and Dr Ben is amazing - you can really tell he is so passionate about what he does! During my appointment he would pause and explain and show me what he was doing and why. The whole experience was just so positive! As a first time visitor to this practice I am very impressed and I will be come back here for as long as I live on the coast :) thank you!

Fantastic experience: The most professional and comforting dental exams, scale and polish I have ever experienced! Thank you Dr. Dan and Gwen for my pain-free and reassuring fillings appointments. I cannot express enough but I am so grateful for the amazing work you guys did. Thank you Matt my hygienist for such gentle teeth scale and polish, I was so relaxed with his calming voice and groovy background music :))) Very efficient and highly competent team, everything flows smoothly. When I was little, I had painful filling experiences without any numbing, and since I am always scared to have any fillings done. But after seeing Dr. Dan, I finally can sit through the whole appointment without feeling any pain or discomfort. Thank you thank you thank you!!
