Negative experience: Got my braces done awhile ago by Dr. Tippett. All round terrible experience. He was impatient, adjustments were painful and the final removal was downright traumatic. I recall his receptionist had such a chip on her shoulder and bookings were much more difficult than it should’ve been. Even til today I recall the experience with disdain. Don’t recommend at all unless you get off on painful dental procedures.

Fantastic experience: I was travelling with my family at the time when I had to make an urgent appointment when we arrived at Sydney on 03.01.2023. I was in lots of pain and the right face was swollen. Due to Christmas and New Year, I had been in pain for days. I was lucky to find Star Dentistry Pyrmont near our hotel. The service of Emergency Appointment on the website made booking so easy. The response was fast and I was able to get an appointment the next day. Dr Lisa was my treating dentist and I was lucky to have her. She was friendly, patient, very thorough, knowledgeable and experienced. Dr Lisa may look young but certainly knew what she was doing. She took time to explain to me what had happened, what she was doing and what future treatment I would need. With her help, I was able to finish the road trip with my family. The great service did not stop here. Dr Lisa kindly agreed to release the X-ray and her notes after signing the Consent to me, so I could send them to my dentist in WA who could continue treatment upon my return. If we lived in Sydney, I would, without any hesitation, choose Dr Lisa as our family dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have never had any dental procedure before visiting this place. I had to get my wisdom tooth removed and I was worried about all the pain and surgery and the recovery. I would recommend this place 10/10. The entire surgery was painless and just took 5mins to extract my tooth. I had no pain the next day or even the following day. I didn’t even take an painkiller. Next day star dentistry gave a follow up call to check. This is the best Dental Clinic I have ever been to. Loved it!

He showed me how to fix the issue instead of applying a bandaid to cover up the problem. He is clear and concise and gives you options to think over without any pressure whatsoever. Negative experience: I had sensitivity in my teeth and booked this dentist as the rating was high and it was right across the road from my house. The clinic itself is very clean with a TV screen mounted on the ceiling, and both the receptionist and dentist were friendly, however I'm not sure the dentist knows what he is talking about, which scared me from doing anything further there. He pointed to my tooth and said it had a filling, which it didn't, and I would know what I've paid to get done.The tooth in my mouth that does actually have a filling, he said that it was just my tooth. Paid $50 just to sit and get told the wrong things. He recommended a toothpaste which did not treat the issue. Went to another dentist and straight away she could point out the issue I was experiencing without me even having to go into much detail and treated it immediately. It's not the worst experience. I would just take caution with advice here.

Fantastic experience: After many years of grinding my teeth at night I was looking to get my teeth rebuilt. As a pretty particular person I consulted with numerous dentists around Sydney and after sitting down with Dr Richard Tippett and having him explain the various options to me I knew I would be in safe and competent hands at STAR dentistry. What was most impressive to me was the time he took to explain everything to me and the detail with which he did so. Over the course of a number of appointments I had my teeth whitened, rebuilt, and then had a guard made to prevent further damage. At each appointment Dr Richard and his team were wonderful and I'm incredibly happy with the outcome! The receptionist Sam was also lovely and a great help with booking appointments and follow-ups. I ask a lot of questions which I know can be pretty annoying but any concerns or queries I had were always answered helpfully and with patience. I've already recommended Dr Richard to a number of friends and will certainly be coming back here for future work and follow-ups. I don't normally take the time to leave reviews but that is how good this place is - thanks again!
