DENTL Melbourne

Negative experience: Managed to shear a fragment off my jaw with a dental clip while performing a filling of a cracked tooth. Went back and they told me I probably cut my gum with corn chips. Took a month of agony but it finally worked it's way out by itself. Worst pain I've had in my life. See attached photo. Can corn chips cause this? Edit: They called me and asked if I wanted a follow up appointment for a teeth cleaning. I told them about my experience and said I was never coming back. They didn't know what to say and asked if I wanted my dental records sent to another dentist.

Fantastic experience: A Dental Practice That Truly Cares! As someone with a significant fear of dental procedures, I can't recommend Dentl enough. From my very first appointment with Dr. Leighton for an extraction, I was incredibly nervous and anxious. However, he and his amazing staff immediately put me at ease. They took such good care of me, making me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire process. Before I knew it, the procedure was done, and my fears and anxiety had vanished right along with it! Now, myself and my family actually look forward to our appointments, and I feel much more confident about our dental hygiene. I've since recommended Dentl to all my friends and family, and now my family are regulars. We happily travel over an hour to attend Dentl, and we will absolutely continue to do so. The reception and nursing staff are also awesome. I have forgotten the receptionist's name unfortunately, but when I called up to ask a question after my visit, she was so lovely and helpful and made me feel very comfortable. The clinic atmosphere is beautiful and calming.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much Dr. Galina and her assistant Aleisha! They were all so friendly and caring. Dr. Galina was knowledgeable and did a thorough examination to really take care of my dental concern but also taking her time to listen and explain every little detail, without over-treatment. She is friendly and reassuring (impressive that she even knew some Korean words which is my mother-tongue language). I really appreciate patient-centered dentists like her and they all made my dental visit cozy and calming experience. If anyone has a dental anxiety, I would recommend this place! Also her assistant Aleisha didn't seem to be bothered by helping me exchange between my glasses and the sunglasses at all (cause they were happy to take radigraphs and photos for my concern so many times when I asked about some of my dental concerns). They were really friendly and nice from the moment I stepped into the patient room and the moment I got out. I also really appreciated it when the receptionist, Laura got me a cup of water cause my appointment was early in the morning and I was dehydrated in the waiting area (spaceful waiting area and a nice painting of Vincent Van Gogh) and she caught it. The price is very reasonable compared to other dentists I visited in Melbourne so far. I regret not knowing this place earlier! Thank you again

Fantastic experience: Hands down the BEST place to get your dental work done! Went in for a consult with Dr Leighton who was so patient and he took the time to explain my dental treatment plan and a couple weeks later, got my dental work done with Oral Health Therapist Quyen. Like all the staff there, Quyen had such excellent bedside manner. What a legend. I love that this practice embraces technology, and the use of VR Goggles while I had my dental work done was the cherry on top. Really helped with keeping me distracted and reducing anxiety. The only regret I have is not coming to this practice sooner. Keep up the excellent work guys.

Fantastic experience: I recently went to Dr Leighton for a second opinion. Dr Leighton and all the staff were amazingly lovely and so professional. The Dr conducted a thorough investigation of my teeth, reviewed the other dentist x-rays, ran his own and also had his colleagues confirm with him. He could not find anything wrong with my teeth. The previous dentist (two weeks prior) had me believing that my tooth was dead, rotted with a bacterial infection, and wanted to do a root canal the following week because it was so serious. The tooth is not dead and there is no infection. The previous dentist also wanted to put a cap on another tooth as the filling was so large it concerned her, Leighton confirmed there was infact no filling there and nothing needing a cap. The entire team at SV Dentist were incredibly professional and we're very supportive given the state of shock I was in. You clearly cannot trust a lot of dentist out there, but I'd trust this team any day. Please everyone, always get a second opinion by a reputable Dentist, this lady was going to mutilate my healthy teeth.

Fantastic experience: I've been to this clinic for just about one year, after not seeing a dentist during COVID's worse phase, and after a type two diabetes diagnosis. This is an extraordinarily good clinic, and extremely professional in every way. I had to have a 'deep dive' cleaning last year; the hygienist demonstrated a skills set that I've not encountered previously . The same is true of the dentist I've seen and another hygienist, all of whom have done stellar work. I can't recommend this clinic highly enough. It was a friend's recommendation; it's been a revelation.
