Dr Alex is fairly new to the Geelong Family Dental Care team and still finding his feet in terms of how we operate and communicate to our patients. We want to assure you, first and foremost, that Dr Alex, as well as all other clinicians at Geelong Family Dental Care, are diligent and fastidious when checking through medical history forms, and this happens before our patients even set foot in the surgery. Thanks to our digital forms.
Dr Alex was operating under the current guidelines that advise there are no contraindications to performing clinically necessary radiographs during pregnancy. To provide some further perspective, you would gain more radiation from a flight to Sydney from Melbourne. Having said that, we certainly do acknowledge and strongly advocate for patient choice, and it seems we missed the mark on this occasion in first discussing this preference with you, and for that we sincerely apologise.
