Fantastic experience: Today I had my first (certainly not my last) experience with The Good Dentist and I cant rate them highly enough. From the first phone call the staff were friendly and willing to help. My dentist Dr Jason and assistant Aimee took time to listen to me, quickly offer a solution and made sure I was comfortable the whole time, and kept me chatting to keep my mind off everything. If your looking for a dentist, dont look further! Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: Visited The Good Dentist for the first time recently. I am incredibly anxious about attending the dentist and haven't been in a number of years due to previous judgemental and unpleasant experiences over the years but wanted to try these guys out after reading all the positive reviews online. I was seen by Michael and Megan who really took the time to hear my concerns and calm my anxious self. They were super comforting and informative throughout my whole appointment. Gave me time to rest between treatments and a squishy stress ball to quell my nerves. I'm super grateful for the care shown. I can't recommend these guys enough.

Fantastic experience: I switched to The Good Dentist after years of average experiences elsewhere, which made me apprehensive to attend the dentist. I’d like to say I owe it to Garreth, Jason and Mike along with the rest of the team. My regular dentist is now Mike, and he’s really gone out of his way to help me be on top of my oral care. If you happen to be someone who falls into that category of being apprehensive towards getting into the dentist, everyone at the good dentist will go out out their way to make you comfortable, it’s affordable and friendly. Fantastic experience: The Good Dentist in Newcastle truly lives up to its name!! I came in with a serious tooth infection from a failed root canal done elsewhere and Dr. Jason Mallon genuinely saved my life. He explained everything clearly and everything he said would happen—happened. The excruciating pain I was in is finally gone, and even though I’m still healing, I feel confident that things are only getting better from here. If you need a dentist you can trust with your health, this is the right place to go!

Fantastic experience: Thankyou to Garreth and the Good Dentist. I went in (long overdue) with a very sore tooth that was mostly filling. After examination the tooth was able to be saved with new filling and a crown. This was my first crown and the whole process and follow up appointments made me feel at ease. If you have any hesitation about getting a put off problem fixed don’t. Garreth and his assistants make you feel very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a bit of a phobia about dentists after a bad experience as a child. The team at The Good Dentist made me feel instantly at ease in a warm welcoming practice. Garreth took time explaining the issues I had and making a very clear care plan for me with no pressure. I had my first new crown fitted today, it was a very straight forward procedure and pain free. I still have more work to be done, and for the first time ever, I’m happy to go back.

Fantastic experience: As a parent of two teens, including one who is autistic and extremely anxious about dentists and needles, I’m so grateful we found The Good Dentist. Dr Mike and dental assistant Meagan were incredibly calm, kind, and patient with both my kids. My older teen, who has never been able to go through with dental treatment in the past, felt safe and supported enough with Dr Mike and Meagan to agree to come back for some well-overdue dental work. This is a massive step for us. Meagan even handed her a stress toy without needing to be asked, which really showed how in tune they are with anxious patients. My younger teen also felt very comfortable, even after finding out she needs quite a bit of follow-up work. Dr Mike explained everything clearly and without judgment, and his approach was very respectful and gentle. It’s the first time in years we’ve left a dental appointment feeling calm and cared for. I highly recommend Dr Mike and Meagan, especially for families navigating autism, anxiety, or dental avoidance.

Fantastic experience: The professionalism, knowledge, aesthetics, care and happy lovely vibe you feel, as soon as you walk in the door, has my young children (3 and 8) and I loving our whole experience at the Good Dentist. Mummas, if you want your babies to love the dentist, and also have confidence your children are in amazing hands you need to visit this wonderful space. After my children had their teeth cleaned and checked, I had mine done. My kids were BEYOND excited to help the beautiful dental assistant help pop the sunction in mummy’s mouth and were included in what was happening. Even offering them little masks and glasses.. so grateful for their patience and always making us feel so phenomenally safe and welcome. In the best of dental hands here

Fantastic experience: My two young children and I attend The Good Dentist. All the staff are friendly, accommodating and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The dentists/specialists are brilliant with young children and are more than willing to ensure the kids feel comfortable so much so my girls ask when they can go back again. The staff take the time to explain what to expect for your appointment. They are proactive and provide advice and recommendations for at home care. I would definitely recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: *Short-term pain for long-term gain* I'm writing this review today, one week from my upper left wisdom tooth extraction. Being in my early fifties, I was quite surprised to have my first wisdom tooth come through in mid-October 2024. It was quite painful as it overly erupted at an angle towards my cheek area. I went & seen Dr G, who advised me that it needed to be removed as there wasn't enough space for it to fit into. I booked in for an exo & clean on 5 November. I had a 3D xray done first, then a clean and then a painfree exo. I got to hold onto the stress poo for the entire procedure. I was given a post-op instruction checklist and a pain meds script before leaving. The following day I received a phone call to check in on how I was going. It's great to see a dental practice that cares about its patients first and foremost.

Fantastic experience: After avoiding going to the dentist for about half a decade, I’m glad I found a place that I would go back to again. I loved the service at the good dentist. The team including the front staff were hospitable and understanding. Dr Garreth was thorough about cause of the pain as well as treatment. After care instructions were easy to follow. Ambience of the place is nice and clean. Absolutely recommend the place.

Fantastic experience: I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Garreth & the Good Dentist team and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From beginning to end, the staff were caring and helpful. Garreth was able to squeeze me in the day after my initial appointment, and the whole procedure only took an hour. I received multiple post-op check-ins from the team, including Garreth, of whom was happy to respond to any concerns or queries. As someone who is notoriously bad with surgeries, I cannot recommend Garreth’s services enough.

Fantastic experience: I had braces as a teen and after 12 years of not having my permanent retainer in, my teeth had shifted and were not straight anymore. When I got in touch with the receptionist at the Good Doctor, they were able to give me all the information I was after so I felt comfortable to book my initial consultation with Dr Jason. He was friendly, non judgemental and it genuinely felt like he just wanted to help people. After the consultation, I was given access to a 3D scan of my mouth, that showed how my teeth were day 1 at the consult and how they would look at the end of the treatment if I decided to proceed. This 3D scan is very helpful for visual learners. The Good Dentist is upfront about costing and treatment times. My treatment is for 14 weeks and I'm currently on week 5 and I couldn't be happier with the progression. The team at the good dentist are wonderful. They have set and maintained a high standard of professionalism and integrity.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has had two wisdom teeth extracted by both Gareth and Jason I can positively say they are two of the most gentle and nicest dentists. In comparison to other dentists I’ve been to for other extractions they are both super quick and I’ve had no pain or complications during or after.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Jason and the team at The Good Dentist enough for the most incredible Invisalign results and giving me the perfect smile. Not only were they always warm and welcoming, they made the experience very comfortable and affordable. After being quoted a substantial amount of money at my local orthodontist and being led to believe I would need all 4 wisdom teeth removed, I left in tears believing I could never afford a nice smile. Fantastic experience: Just writing this review now after having 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. I hadn’t had a tooth removed before and I was super nervous but Dr Garreth and his staff made me feel very relaxed coming up to the appointment and during surgery. After the site was numbed I felt nothing during the surgery, the first two came out within about a minute each, and the second two about 5 minutes each. The time flew by with the music they had playing during the surgery, as well as constant communication from the surgeon and nurses with their progress of each tooth. I felt instant relief after the first tooth was removed and realised I wasn’t going to feel a thing! I was given clear instructions on the aftercare with a step by step to do list to take home. I’m currently relaxing at home with my face still numb and feeling puffy 2 hours post surgery, but feeling very glad I finally got them out and thankful for the pleasant experience! Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: The reason I went to The Good Dentist is because I had reoccurring wisdom teeth problems. I went to some other dentist months earlier and they just gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way. The problems started again so I tried The Good Dentist, they sat me down looked at it for not too long and said they could get it out for me THAT day. Went away for a bit, I came back, They sat me down, then no nonsense Garreth took it out. Quick and easy done and dusted. I was worried about the price of the operation going into it more than anything and the price was way lower than I expected, I was wrapped! Everyone was absolutely lovely there from the receptionists, to the dentists, to the assistants. I hadn't been to a dentist in years but I’ve booked in to go see them for another check up a few months from now! Highly recommend anyone that needs a dentist to go to in newcastle to go to The Good Dentist. They’re the best!

Fantastic experience: Dr Garreth and the team at the Good Dentist were so friendly, attentive and informative. From the moment I was greeted at the front desk I felt very relaxed when usually I am very anxious going to the dentist. Very transparent with the prices before treatment begins. This is the best dentist I’ve been too in years, will definitely be my new regular.

Fantastic experience: I called the Good Dentist office at 9am after being kept up overnight with the worst pain I’d ever encountered. They were able to book me in the same day at 11am, the dentist Jason was empathetic, understanding and thoroughly explained things so that I understood what my options and the treatment I was going to be given. 15 minutes after I had been seen I was no longer in pain at all and haven’t experienced any since 4 days later. Every staff member was beyond kind and helpful during this scary time for me. I will definitely continue to have them as my regular dentist, thank you again to all the staff, you have no idea how much you all helped me.

Fantastic experience: Our 3 children 12, 9 & 5 had the best experience with Jason. They all felt relaxed and comfortable during their visit and our 5 year old didn’t want to get out of the chair and stop watching Bluey! Having all 3 children in for a check up and clean at the same time was such an easy experience and one we will continue to do every six months. Would 100% recommend to all families.

Fantastic experience: Jason and the team there were amazing with my two Littles: one Miss 5 and my 14 month old boy. He showed great care and patience with them and alleviated my anxiety that I had after a recent experience at another dentist's office with the kids. Fantastic experience: Moving from Sydney to find a new Dentist can be quite daunting as I had been with the same Dentist for over twenty years. On the recommendation of a friend I tried The Good Dentist. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly by the Reception staff. My treatment was by Nicole the Hygenist who was friendly , professional and also gave me some great tips for ongoing care. Jason, the Dentist did the exam in a warm, friendly and professional manner. Fantastic experience: During a recent cruise I developed a dental problem. Contacted The Good Dentist on arrival in Newcastle and received absolutely brilliant service. Given an immediate appointment and treated by Garreth McBride on arrival. All sorted within 30 mins and then able to see and do everything as planned on our only day in town.

Fantastic experience: I've been blown away by the consideration and quality of care I've received from both Jason and Garreth with the support of Alexis. Slightly nervous to have a check-up, they were judgement free, made me feel really comfortable and clearly laid out the work that was required. The subsequent removal of all my wisdom teeth was an easy process, with little pain. And most importantly my recovery has been a breeze! Within 24 hours, I was up and out and feeling good. These guy are GOOD DENTISTS.

Fantastic experience: First of all I would just like to say a massive thank you to the entire Good Dentist team, they are the absolute best in the business.. Before I had reach out to the good dentist I was having trouble with a hole in the tooth which was badly decayed, Gareth had suggested root canal due to my busy schedule the tooth had become worse and extraction was the only option. Before this problem my teeth really needed a lot of work not only so I could get good functionality but so they looked good as well. I have multiple missing teeth and wore a plate which really annoyed me. At this stage Garreth and Jason suggested implants I was always planning on getting for years but just did not trust anyone and the process.. So I had said yes to the implants after Garreth assured me the will be no issues and that’s the best way to go, I also wanted to fixed my alignment of my teeth and perfect my smile, The good dentist have made me up a treatment plan that is affordable for what I want and have listened to my needs and what I’m looking for.. Today I had 5 implants a tooth removed and a filling which was a walk in the park and immediately I’ve noticed the results, thank god I don’t need that denture anymore, I can’t talk properly now and my smile is looking amazing already.. I just want to add this entire process is not painful and it was actually enjoyable.. I’ve been to many dentist in my time and the Good Dentist actually are great dentist and I will continue to come here along with my family and I’m also recommending friends.. Fantastic experience: Brilliant I’ve had so many bad experiences at other dentists over the years but Garreth is fantastic. Highly recommend. Had an implant put in today and there was ZERO pain. Super fast and easy process. I drove myself home and then went grocery shopping afterwards without a worry. Amazing!!

However after consulting Garreth, the process was explained to me in great detail, the procedure was basically painless and I was back to my daily routine the following day. The Good Dentist Team kept in regular phone contact with me to ensure I was recovering well and also to answer any questions I had. Fantastic experience: I have had a substantial amount of dental work carried out by Garreth and his team. From the first initial booking with the friendly and helpful staff at reception to the work carried out in the surgery I have nothing but praise for the staff at The Good Dentist. The information provided about the procedures, which set my mind at ease, to the care taken when completing the procedures was excellent. But the best part of the whole experience is the follow up texts and phone calls that I have received ensuring that I’m doing ok and if I have any questions relating to work completed. Not a big fan of Dentists but The Good Dentist has definitely changed my preconceptions.

Fantastic experience: Well just had my last appointment with Jason today.. 3 crowns and some work getting rid of my amalgam...I had a terrible experience 15 or so years ago at a dentist and it really made going to get dental care very traumatic. Jason and all of the lovely team have been really amazing and I am ever so grateful. Jason is very patient and real, when the old trauma state emerges in the room and I felt really seen and attended to. Fantastic experience: I was soooo scared to get an implant! My fear was that it was going to be painful. I can tell you from the start there was no pain at all! Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with the entire team at The Good Dentist. They had been recommended to me by a client. It always easy to put off going to a new health care professional due to a combination of reasons from fear of what to expect to bad experiences -v- financial outlay. I had been procastinating for ages to find a new dentist for a check up and it had been way too long. I felt heard, understood and cared for, which in my opinion as a health care professional myself, as well as a patient, is just as important as the quality of the actual health treatment. The examination, treatment and advice/recommendations I receved were thorough, and as pleasant as I can imagine it could get at the dentist. Often the 'care' is left out of health care, but that was not the case with my experience at The Good Dentist. I left feeling happy and confident to be in the care of the Dentist, Jason, his dental assistant and the reception team.
