Fantastic experience: I recently travelled all the way from Sydney to Chapel Gate Dental in St. Kilda for a complex dental procedure involving three tooth extractions, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. Dr. Amita and her team were absolutely incredible — from the initial consultation to post-procedure care, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and reassuring. What truly sets this clinic apart is their wholistic approach — they don’t just fix the issue in front of them, but take the time to explain the root cause, outline all available treatment options, and focus on long-term dental health. Dr. Amita was exceptionally thorough, patient, and gentle throughout the process. She made what could have been a stressful experience feel completely manageable. Negative experience: I went into this Dental practice on Sat morning, June28, it was around I would say roughly 11.45am, Indian girl on desk at reception. Extremely unprofessional service. She could not have cared any less. My first visit to the practice, to enquire as I am local. I went in with a few quick questions prepared. She was more interested in her mobile phone than me. It put me right off going to this practice. She started talking briefly, and then I realised it was not to me, but she was conversing with her mobile phone. I was shocked. I hesitated for a minute, when I realised her mobile phone chat was more important. I did continue to ask a few quick questions, but the damage was done. I could have done a better job than her in customer service, that is for sure.

Fantastic experience: Incredibly kind, friendly, professional and gentle service, clean and well set up. I've been coming here for a few years, and my kids, and they've always been exceptionally kind and gentle, an excellent service - highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience with Dr Tara who did a check up, fillings and scale and fluoride. She was very patient and approachable and friendly and took time to explain everything and took X-rays and image records for me as a new patient. Also good time management I was surprised we had time to do the fillings as well in my appointment I was ready to come back for next time. The prices are very reasonable and covered by health insurance so it was easy.

Fantastic experience: I'm an old man with great insurance. Sadly the "gap saver" is now unavailable but this dentist is available for new patients. I cross the Westgate to come here but I'd walk if I had to. This dental clinic is gentle, kind and professional.

Fantastic experience: I have always been cared for by the dentists, and my teeth and gum issues are always resolved. They are especially supportive when it is an emergency such as a very bad tooth ache, and they have a regular 6 monthy clean and check of all of my teeth. Their Bupa gap system is also very helpful.

Positive experience: The service is very friendly but a warning to make sure you get a quote in writing and invoices each visit. I was quoted $2000 for a root canal and never provided invoices each visit until I asked after the final visit. Ended up being charged $2561 which was a lot of extra money to find and also an expensive root canal. I was never told what the additional was for. Had to cancel my final appointment due to cost.

Fantastic experience: As usual i had an amazing experience. I had to have a tooth extracted and replaced with 2 crowns and a bridge. After my tooth was extracted it was clearky explained what my options were to close the gap in my teeth. After the tooth extraction i actually had very minimal pain and the hole in my gum healed very quickly. Today i had the 2 crowns and bridge attached and am extremely happy with the results. I have my smile back.. thank you

Fantastic experience: Thanks so much for seeing me today on such short notice. Revina got me in with the principle dentist Dr Amita Gupta straight away. She was lovely and checked in with me many times to see if I was ok with my cleaning and check up. Dr Amita did x ray on the spot and told me that I’m doing well with flossing and to keep doing it every day. The place was clean, the chair was comfortable, the tv on the roof displaying colourful birds was good too. They wished me a happy birthday as it’s the next day. The team all spoke well to each other and supported each other. My teeth feel so smooth and shiny. My tongue and my gums feel great. I am allergic to the peroxide and they said they don’t use that after cleaning so that was a bonus! Very happy I found this place. I’ll be back for my six months check up.

Fantastic experience: I was seriously considering an overseas trip for some dentistry in India or Vietnam - not really for any financial cost savings - but mostly just to avoid the inevitable condescending lecture from an Australian dentist due to the poor state of a couple of my teeth. I'm so glad I didn't bother heading overseas - Dr Amita and her team did such a good job with my extractions and bridge work - I'd never bother going anywhere else in the future. Not only did it work out cheaper than the dental holiday I was planning - but it was actually a pleasant experience anyways. Recommend 100% - lovely team at Chapel Gate Dental.

The dentist is brilliant! First time l ever felt l wasn’t rushed for a check up and clean . She asked me so many questions about my dental history and informed me about what l can do to improve my teeth and was so through . Not to mention that my teeth have never felt so clean too! I won’t be going anywhere else

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, very well informed and saw my son straight away after a broken tooth incident.

Negative experience: Multiple instances of them having "notes on their file" about me and my procedures that were totally false - made for a very gaslighty experience. One example is they told me that I'm allergic to penicillin, which I never would have told them, because I am not. They're defensive when you ask them questions, and act like they've already told you things when they haven't. They provided written aftercare instructions for tooth extraction that tell you to use a straw, which is the exact opposite of what you are supposed to do. The procedures themselves and the prices seem fine, but their treatment otherwise is confused and hostile.
